Eiichiro Oda’s one-shot manga Monsters recently got an anime adaptation with the title Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation which was released on January 21 on Netflix. The series revolved around the story of Shimotsuki Ryuma from One Piece, who was known for defeating a dragon all by himself. He is considered to be the strongest swordsman to ever exist in the One Piece universe.

The official Twitter account of Netflix Anime announced on Dec 15, 2023, that the anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s ‘Monsters‘ manga, titled Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation, is set to premiere on Netflix in January 2024.
Accompanying the announcement is a new visual.

It was previously revealed that Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation anime will only have one episode, and will be helmed by Sunghoo Park, known for directing Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
The production of the anime will be handled by E&h Production.

Throwing a bunch of teenagers into some sort of Gladiator-style arena is the pinnacle of young adult dystopian fiction, executed to perfection in franchises like "The Hunger Games."
