So, if you love all the gore, violence, dark comedy, supes, and genuine emotions in The Boys here are some similar shows you could watch next.

It had been a minute since Anna Gunn felt the anticipation of an intriguing script hitting her inbox. Understandably, the incomparable writing she received for a combined decade on Deadwood and Breaking Bad set a high bar. But then the Colin Farrell-led Apple TV+ series Sugar came along.
Created by Mark Protosevich and executive produced by Audrey Chon/Simon Kinberg, the neo-noir show ended up being one of a couple recent Breaking Bad reunions for Gunn. Co-heads of Apple TV+ programming, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, served as presidents at Sony Pictures Television when Vince Gilligan walked through their doors with his Breaking Bad pilot script, and on top of having a hand in Gunn joining Sugar, the two executives have been busy recruiting their former Breaking Bad collaborators to their acclaimed streamer, including Gilligan and his still-untitled upcoming series; Jonathan Banks and director-ep Michelle MacLaren for Constellation...

Review: Detective stories and noir films are iconic genres in film and literature. Who doesn’t love a grizzled private eye who saves the girl and beds the femme fatale? From The Maltese Falcon to Chinatown, detectives have a long and storied history on screen. With the new series Sugar, Colin Farrell adds another great character to the list. A suave, calm, and skilled investigator, John Sugar is an idealized hero straight off the silver screen. And, like any number of great cinematic detectives, he has a weakness. Colin Farrell headlines detective drama Sugar for Apple TV+, and the first trailer has landed: more on it here.
Colin Farrell hasn’t been on our screens for a couple of years, after a barnstorming 2022 saw him reunite with Brendan Gleeson and writer and director Michael McDonagh for bleak comedy The Banshees Of Inisherin, don prosthetics to become unrecognizable as The Penguin opposite Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and star alongside Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton in Ron Howard’s survival drama Thirteen Lives.
He now takes a rare television role, leading the cast of Sugar, a detective drama, for Apple TV+. The synopsis reads as follows:

How Vince Gilligan And Breaking Bad's Writers Cooked Up A Perfect Final Season [Exclusive Interview]
September 29, 2013. On that Sunday, when the clocks hit 9:00pm Et, over 10 million viewers planted themselves before their television sets, ready to watch a new "Breaking Bad" episode for the last time. One of them was this future writer.
That 10 million strong audience sat awed as story threads — some 62 episodes in the making — were finally tied up in "Felina." Walter White (Bryan Cranston) snatched a pyrrhic victory from the jaws of defeat and made a marginal penance by accepting responsibility for his sins. Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) drove off to an uncertain freedom, ringing out with a primal howl after a series' worth of suffering.
The reviews were stellar, a flood of Emmys followed, and with "Felina" as the cherry on top to an already beloved season 5, the reputation of "Breaking Bad" as one of television's titans was secured. 10 years on from "Felina," Heisenberg is definitely a name that people remember.

[Editor’s note: The following review contains spoilers for “Better Call Saul” Season 6, Episode 7, “Plan and Execution.”]
Of all the things on “Better Call Saul” to happen by accident, “one person directing two episodes in back-to-back seasons that heavily feature a dangerous showdown in an apartment living room” doesn’t seem like one of them. Yet, two years after “Bad Choice Road” found Kim (Rhea Seehorn), Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk), and Lalo (Tony Dalton) converging on the same Albuquerque unit square footage, the trio had an unexpected reunion in the show’s Season 6 midseason finale.
This time, that convergence of fates had a far bloodier end, with Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) meeting an untimely end via Lalo’s patiently assembled silencer. Yet, with those similarities, it was far from preordained that Tom Schnauz — who wrote and directed “Bad Choice Road” — would serve in both roles again for “Plan and Execution.”

The Center for Cultural Power and Jill Soloway’s 5050by2020 have selected the 10 artists for its The Disruptors Fellowship. The fellowship supporting emerging television writers of color who also identify as transgender, non-binary, disabled and those who have been or are currently undocumented. Spoiler Warning: This article reveals major plot points for tonight’s series finale of Preacher on AMC.
Preacher, on paper, seemed like a television pitch that didn’t have a prayer. The fact that Sunday night marked the end of the fourth and final season of the AMC series from executive producers Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad) and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg would qualify as a miracle if the show’s brimstone scent and penchant for the profane didn’t disqualify it from general competition.
For four seasons, the show followed the wild-eyed quest of Dominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer, the West Texas preacher with a grim job history. His entire flock in West Texas was flattened and killed when he became possessed by a supernatural entity (who turned out to be the offspring of an unnatural coupling...

Preacher Season 4 Episode 10
Preacher has taken some serious diversions from the comic series over the run of the program, but one thing that hasn't been abandoned by Sam Catlin and company is the anarchic spirit that powered the original Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon series.
Preacher hasn't been a straight adaptation of the comic book ever, and at certain points changes were made that didn't work as intended, but for the most part, Preacher never stopped feeling like Preacher, and while that attitude has carried the show far, the comic makes a few sneaky returns in the finale episode.
It's strange that in a show with a clear-cut villain, said villain escapes the bulk of judgment by the end of the series.

Preacher Season 4 Episode 1
AMC’s Preacher has always struck me as a bit of an underdog, a show with something to prove. Part of this may stem from the source material itself, a Vertigo comic by Garth Ennis and the late Steve Dillon that, over the last two decades, has garnered a cult following. Kudos to Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg for figuring out how to adapt a property that doesn’t easily lend itself to the small screen. And yet here we are, staring down Preacher’s fourth and final season.
And judging from the premiere, Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are in for plenty of gleeful, blood-drenched mayhem. The road to Hell may be paved with good intentions,...

The hit show Preacher will return tonight with its fourth and final season. The show debut on May 22, 2016. The show is based off a comic book by the same name by creators Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Preacher was developed for television by Evan Goldberg, Sam Catlin, and Seth Rogen. Jesse Custer ( Dominic Cooper) is a hard-drinking chain-smoking preacher who, endures a crisis of faith. Jesse becomes infused with an extraordinary power. He embarks on a quest to better understand his new gift and literally finds God, alongside his trigger-happy ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and a new vampire friend, Cassidy( played by Joseph Gilgun) Seth Rogen and the people involved behind the scenes knew Preacher would have a four- season run well in advance. The network made sure they all knewthis would be the final season. Seth Rogen threw out a dig at Got and how their lackluster season ended.

Despite a drop in the ratings last year, the Preacher TV show remained AMC's fourth highest rated series in the 18-49 year old demo and fell just one slot, to sixth place, in terms of total viewers. Now that it is back for season three, will its Nielsen numbers rise, fall, or stay the same? Will Preacher be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

Preacher is one of the wildest and craziest shows on TV right now and I’m happy to report that AMC has renewed it for a fourth season!
This is great news! I’ve been enjoying the hell out of this show because it’s just super wicked fun. The show is based on the graphic novels by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and it was developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and showrunner Sam Catlin.
The series will continue to follow the adventures of West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and along the way they have been "thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between."

‘Preacher’
In a major boost for Victoria, the fourth season of Sony Pictures Television’s Preacher will shoot in Melbourne and regional Victoria, injecting $50 million into the state’s economy.
Playmaker Media will co-produce with Spt the 10-part series which stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher who, during a crisis of faith, gains extraordinary power.
It is the biggest budgeted TV production to come to Victoria since Steven Spielberg’s The Pacific in 2007. There will be a Melbourne-based plotline.
Generating 740 jobs for local cast and crew, the production schedule will span seven months. Pre-production is due to start at Docklands Studios Melbourne before the end of the year.
Based on DC Comics’ supernatural comic book series and developed by writer and producer Sam Catlin with executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, the series premiered on AMC in the Us in 2016 and airs here on Stan.

AMC has ordered Preacher 4 and is moving production to Australia for the end of Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy's story.
God may pay for his crimes yet! AMC has officially ordered Preacher Season 4.
Production moves to Australia for season 4, per a TVLine report. The original comic series by Garth Enis remained set in the United States (and other various heavenly and hellish realms) for the duration of its run so it's unlikely that Preacher will go the Leftovers Season 3 route and actually be set in Australia. It's more likely that Australia has some nice tax credits and is versatile enough geographically to resemble parts of the United States.

The third season of AMC's Preacher may have taken place primarily at Gran'ma's house in Angelville (aka Hell on Earth to Jesse Custer), but it also once again took viewers around the world on a heady examination of family ties, violent faith, and fiery friendship. Following the season 3 finale, AMC released two behind-the-scenes videos that take a look back at the latest season in the adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's cult comic book series.
