It’s been six years since Comedy Central’s The Daily Show last brought on a new correspondent, but it’s making up for lost time—by naming three.
Troy Iwata, Josh Johnson, and Grace Kuhlenschmidt are now officially full-fledged correspondents.
As regular viewers already know, all three have been familiar faces on The Daily Show for several months now.
Iwata and Kuhlenschmidt both first appeared on the show last October in in-studio “remote” pieces. Johnson first appeared on air in February with a pre-taped report on sneakerheads’ reactions to Donald Trump’s release of Trump-branded shoes, but has been a writer for the show since 2017.
Tds had not added a new face to its correspondent lineup since 2018, when Jaboukie Young-White was hired. (Young-White departed in 2021.)

The last new correspondent still on the show was Dulcé Sloan, who joined in September 2017 (Jordan Klepper returned in December 2019 having previously been featured on the show).
Iwata and Kuhlenschmidt joined the show in October 2023 and Johnson, who was previously a writer on the show, made his on-screen debut in February. The move to official correspondents just happened, despite being on the show for a few months.

Just how big a deal is Jon Stewart’s return to The Daily Show desk? John Oliver, the former Daily Show correspondent turned HBO Last Week Tonight host, compared it to NBA legend Michael Jordan’s return to the Chicago Bulls in 1995 after retiring from the game.
“Jordan’s back!” Oliver quipped in an interview with NBC’s Willie Geist.
Oliver was caught as off guard as everyone else with the news, which broke in the middle of the interview with Geist.
“I mean, that’s, that is a surprise,” Oliver said. “That’s a show that needs a host. He certainly is a very, very good one. So yeah, it’ll be exciting to see what he does.”
But he also added that the show “should appoint a permanent host” after Stewart’s run, naming former Peacock host Amber Ruffin and former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr. as strong contenders.

Sarah Silverman has one group to thank for the Democrat sweep that happened following Tuesday’s election: the Illuminati.
“Democrats were the big winners last night, which meant all those human sacrifices were worth it,” Silverman said while hosting “The Daily Show.” “Shoutout to my fellow Illuminati members. Guys, we did it.”
Democratic voters showed up for Tuesday’s election as across the country strides were made to protect abortion rights. According to the AP, supporters of abortions rights won a ballet measure in Ohio, a Democratic governor in the primarily Republican Kentucky held onto his position partially due to campaigning for reproductive rights and a Democrat won a seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court after promising to uphold abortion rights.
Silverman zeroed in on these victories during the back-half of her monologue. Specifically, she mocked the report that Republicans are trying to develop a better anti-abortion term than “pro-life...

Claud is turning from Super Monster to Supermodels with their second album, due out July 14th on Saddest Factory. Ahead of its release, the Phoebe Bridgers associate has shared the new single “Every Fucking Time.”
Thematically, Supermodels deals with the universal trials of growing up, though Claud’s subject matter is likely turned up to 10 since they’ve grown up in the public eye. The LP — written after the artist toured with Bridgers and Bleachers and released on the heels of opening gigs for Paramore and Le Tigre — tracks Claud’s journey from their childhood bedroom to their own apartment in New York City. Pre-orders are ongoing.
“Every Fucking Time” begins with melancholy acoustic guitar as Claud looks back on a fraught relationship — if you can’t agree on the merits of Regina Spektor, how are you going to make it? “I can’t believe it when you say you love me/ ‘Cause with you,...

The edited screenshot contained a mirror selfie of Grace paired with the headline, "Selling Sunset's Chrishell Straus and non-binary Australian drummer G-Flip adopt adult lesbian daughter from Facebook Marketplace." The so-called article went on to read, "Hot off season 5 of Netflix's hit real estate docuseries,...
