Erica (Amanda Fuller) lives rent-free in the local co-op, but spends her nights trawling the bars and beds of Austin. Damaged, emotionally withdrawn, never really connecting with anyone, and sleeping with multiple men is just what she does… until she meets the older and mysterious Nate (Noah Taylor), working in a hardware store, but with an “honorable discharge” from Iraq.

Despite his quiet air of danger, Nate’s the only guy who doesn’t seem to want to get her into bed at the first opportunity, and the two form a hesitant bond. But one of Erica’s casual sexual encounters is about to bite back.

Franki (Marc Senter) is a young, hot-headed wannabe rock star trying to make it big. Looking after a sick mother and estranged from his longterm girlfriend, he “shared” Erica with his buddies one drunken evening. A shocking discovery throws his already crazy world into a spin, »

Word came down this morning that British writer/director Simon Rumley (pictured left), who shocked and startled viewers with The Living And The Dead, has now shifted to American soil for his latest feature Red, White & Blue. Described as “a realistic, dark revenge movie,” it’s currently shooting in Austin, TX, and Fango got in touch with Rumley for more details.

Produced by Bob Portal and Simon Markham, the film is executive-produced by Masters Of Horror/Fear Itself’s Adam Goldworm, Doug Abbot, Judy Lipsey and Tim League (first photo, at left with Rumley), who heads up Austin’s celebrated Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas. After Living And The Dead won five awards at the city’s Fantastic Fest (on which League serves as co-director), Rumley decided to shoot his next feature there and not only spent a great deal of time researching and scouting locations, but sent an e-mail blast to »

Simon Rumley Teams With Tim League For Red, White And Blue

29 June 2009 1:35 PM, PDT | Twitch | See recent Twitch news »

Who’s that in the photo?  Well, three of them (Marc Senter, Amanda Fuller and Noah Taylor to be precise) are the cast of upcoming feature Red, White and Blue.  One of them - the man in the hat - is Rwb writer-director Simon Rumley, helmer of award winning films The Handyman and The Living And The Dead.  And the guy in the flammable pants?  That’d be Fantastic Fest and Alamo Drafthouse honcho Tim League, making the move to the other side of the screen and serving as executive producer on Rumley’s latest.  Yep, it came down pretty much the way you’d think - after screening Rumley’s The Living And The Dead - which took home a stack of awards when it appeared at Fantastic Fest a couple years back - League offered to get involved in whatever Rumley did next and this is the result. »

13 March 2009 5:11 PM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

After a few years’ absence, the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards are back in their original format, giving you the chance to vote for the best genre films, filmmakers and actors from the past year. There was such a bumper crop of good stuff released in 2008 that narrowing down the nominees to five in certain categories was truly tough; a couple of movies (most notably Splinter) will wait till next year when they’ve gotten more DVD exposure.

E-mail your votes (be sure to vote in all categories; personal e-mails only, no mass ballots) to postalzone@starloggroup.com. For the Fango Hall of Fame, be sure not to vote for Dario Argento, Rick Baker, Clive Barker, Mario Bava, Rob Bottin, Doug Bradley, Tim Burton, Bruce Campbell, James Cameron, John Carpenter, Jeffrey Combs, Don Coscarelli, Wes Craven, David Cronenberg, Jamie Lee Curtis, Peter Cushing, Joe Dante, Guillermo del Toro, Brad Dourif, Robert Englund, »
