In case you somehow missed it, the 1,000th episode of the NCISverse is upcoming.
That will be NCIS Season 21 Episode 7, airing on CBS at 9 p.m. Monday, April 15.
The event was heralded by an Entertainment Tonight special hosted by Kevin Frazier, which aired April 8 on CBS. It's likely still available on streaming service Paramount+.
NCIS has been on 21 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles lasted 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans seven. NCIS: Hawaii is in its third season, while NCIS: Sydney recently finished its first season. You do the math to get to 999.
So, as the NCISverse's 1,000th episode approaches, would now be the peak for the franchise, with two spinoffs airing this season and two new spinoffs planned for next season?
Not at all, although this certainly could be seen as the golden age of NCIS Recycling, which admittedly is at least in vogue now.

NCIS is a successful series with multiple spinoffs that have entertained viewers for over two decades. The first international venture -- NCIS: Sydney -- takes viewers to a different continent with a new cast and intriguing scenarios.
The first season saw extreme success, with "Gone Fission" NCIS: Sydney Season 1 Episode 1 having more viewers than any CBS premiere in streaming history. Paramount+ and CBS reported a combined 10 million viewers.
Unsurprisingly, US viewers love the Sydney spinoff as much as the Hawai'i version, which usually gets five million regular broadcast viewers. Even the original NCIS receives seven million viewers, minus streaming and other viewing methods.
But given that NCIS: Syndey takes place in Australia, it makes sense that it airs on Australian networks, too. It has become the most-watched locally produced (Australian) show aired on the Australian Paramount+ network.
Here is everything that we know about NCIS: Syndey Season 2.

When NCIS: Sydney was first announced, we weren’t even sure it would be shown in the US. We figured the Australian series would land on Paramount+ at best.
Here we are less than a year later, and we’ve got another NCIS that’s going to remain on the linear network.

Will NCIS: Sydney become a permanent fixture on CBS?
In 2023, the NCIS franchise’s first international spinoff premiered on CBS. The eight-episode series sees U.S. NCIS agents teaming up with Australian police to investigate naval crimes in the Pacific. It was originally intended to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S., but it earned a spot on the network’s fall schedule due to the actors’ and writers’ strikes.
NCIS: Sydney closed out its first season on Jan. 23. The cliffhanger episode suggested Colonel Rankin (Lewis Fitz-Gerald) might have played a role in kidnapping Sergeant Jd Dempsey’s (Todd Lasance) son. Will fans get to see how that storyline plays out? So far, NCIS: Sydney hasn’t been renewed for season 2. But it does sound like the odds of the show returning are good.

Hey, "NCIS: Sydney" fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed episode 8 tonight, especially since it was indeed the very last episode for NCIS: Sydney's current, premiere season 1. That means you guys might not ever see another new episode of it forever. That's right, guys. We can't officially confirm with you, right now, that CBS has renewed NCIS: Sydney for a brand new season 2. So, tonight's episode could definitely be it forever. With that said, we are hearing from some people over on TVtonight.com.au that the cast, which includes: Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, William McInnes, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel are currently signed up for multiple seasons. So, a new season 2 is highly likely to happen. They went on to say that they're expected to actually start filming new episodes around Easter time. So, we'll just wait and see if that actually pans out.

With Part 1 of its freshman finale, NCIS: Sydney uncorked quite the callback, by revealing that the “pregnant” woman who nearly got Mackey, Evie, Blue and dozens of others suffocated to death in an old bunker was in fact the blonde spy who eluded capture at the end of the series’ pilot.
Yet while it might seem as if Special Agent Mackey (Olivia Swann), Sergeant Jim “Jd” Dempsey (Todd Lasance) et al now have the upper hand, the abduction of Jd’s son Jack, in Part 2 of the finale (airing Tuesday at 8/7c on CBS), will thoroughly and harrowingly complicate matters.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS: Sydney Episode 4 “Ghosted.”] NCIS: Sydney offers a little insight into team leader Mackey (Olivia Swann) in the latest episode, with the investigation forcing her to open up about her past. While the team has someone in custody claiming he killed the victim, and Mackey is willing to believe it at first — she is very much against deserters, as Frank (Linal Haft) was after serving and receiving the Navy Cross — it soon becomes clear there’s more than it seems to the case. He couldn’t have killed the victim for the reason he claimed (blackmail) since the other man was repatriating the medals he’d found. And so, in an attempt to get Frank to talk, Mackey reveals that while she was stationed in Afghanistan, three guys wandered off base and wound up in a village on the wrong side of the border. She disobeyed a direct order and with two others,...

What do you think of when you hear the word Australia? “If you speak to anyone around the world, one of the first things they talk to you about is that everything can kill you,” cracks Morgan O’Neill, executive producer of NCIS: Sydney, originally developed to stream on Paramount+ Australia but too good for CBS to pass up. Two-legged baddies aren’t in short supply, either, on this fifth entry in the massively successful military crime franchise. Smugglers, drug dealers, and the like are in the crosshairs of the eclectic new team led by NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey (Olivia Swann). “She’s very hot-blooded,” Swann says. “It’s her way or the highway.” In the November 14 opener — the first of eight...

The international expansion of CBS‘ hit franchise brought in viewers on November 14. NCIS: Sydney debuted at 8/7c as the #1 show of the night, averaging 5.48 million viewers. It also had the largest premiere audience of any new show this season and was the #1 live-streamed entertainment program on Paramount+. CBS also posted its largest Tuesday audience of the season with 2.92m viewers, up +34 percent from last week and up +21 percent from its Tuesday average. Typically, it’s pejorative to call a series formulaic. But when it’s a franchise spin-off of one of CBS’s longest-running, most beloved dramas, the question is whether it’s faithful to the big daddy, “NCIS.” The series first premiered starring Mark Harmon as man-of-few-words and dynamic-action-hero-with-a-dark-past Leroy Jethro Gibbs on Sept. 23, 2003. With the first four episodes available for preview, the good news is that “NCIS: Sydney” is faithful to the formula, while developing its own individual vibe at the frequently awkward intersection of American and Australian culture.
