David Sackerman is a 26-year-old screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Seattle, he earned an Associates in Digital Film Production at Shoreline Community College in 2018 and a BA in Filmmaking from Columbia College Chicago in 2021. He has written several shorts and two features, has trained extensively as a director, is proficient in Adobe Premiere, and has extensive on-set experience, including as a PA, script supervisor, boom operator, art assistant, and COVID compliance officer. In June 2021 he began a summer development internship at Walden Media, the LA-based film investor that produced Holes, Bridge to Terabithia, the Chronicles of Narnia films, and the Netflix original series The Babysitters' Club.
David is the writer and director of the independent comedy-drama short films Big Exit, which is complete, and The Full Armor, which is in post-production. He is currently developing four other scripts (a short, two TV specs, and a feature). He loves unusual, unpredictable, lively stories about the trials and joys of not being normal.
David loves to watch movies, exercise, photograph, listen to music, read, fight his friends with foam bats on Saturdays, and cook. He believes in surrounding himself with friends and loved ones, creative expression, selflessness, and listening to Talking Heads while working. His favorite place is a tie between alone in his living room late at night and Cold Stone Creamery.
