New York Comic Con has once again rushed by in a giant, fun, crazy blur, and although I didn’t get to nearly all the things I was hoping to, I did have a rockin’ time and see some really cool things I can share.
The first of these were a few great panels I landed seats for, including, as is my tradition, the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles panel. If you don’t know I love the current Tmnt, then what are you, new here? But seriously, I love it. And each panel I have gone to brings something new and different.
This panel (with Andrea Romano (voice director), Eric Bauza (Tiger Claw), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Shredder), Greg Cipes (Mikey), Rob Paulsen (Donnie), and Ciro Nieli (Executive Producer)) was particularly fun, because one of the things they did was a live read of episode #420, “The Super Shredder,” which...

Finally… The Rock… Has Come Back… to slut shame a woman!
Okay, so minus his highly questionable “comedy” bit with Lana, The Rock once again showed that he is far and away more charismatic than any wrestler of the past 15 years. That includes our current WWE champion.
Elsewhere in the wrestling world, not since Fandango has someone beat Chris Jericho so impressively in their first match. Will this new up-and-come have a better career? It was surreal to see A.J. Styles in a WWE ring, and at least a bit comforting to not see him get the Ddp/Undertaker/Sara Undertaker treatment. Even more bizarre is that he’s not B.K. Smiles.
Tna introduced us to a new evil clown stable, which is a step up from The Menagerie’s happy carnival stable. Will a group of mimes debut next? Lastly, the amazing Lucha Underground has finally returned.

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read if you have not watched Tuesday’s finale of WWE’s “Tough Enough.”) After WWE’s biggest Superstars dominated the ring Sunday at SummerSlam, the next generation of wrestling stars were named on Tuesday’s finale of “Tough Enough” airing on USA Network. The reality TV competition came down to four finalists — Josh, Zz, Sara and Amanda — with one male and one female contestant each winning a one-year, $250,000 WWE contract. Josh Bredl of Thornton, Colorado, took the winner’s belt for the men, while Sara Lee of Hope, Michigan, was the victor among the women.

Four remain on Tough Enough with two receiving $250,000 WWE contracts live 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. Sara Lee and Zamariah “Zz” Loupe hope it will be them. The fan favorites have survived because they have resonated with audiences. Their groundswell of support has grown, despite not progressing as quickly as the rest of the field. Where they lack in physical areas they have made up for in personality. Sara and Zz joined their fellow remaining cast members Josh Bredl and Amanda Saccomanno in New York City for the SummerSlam week festivities. Among the activities was interacting with Make-a-Wish kids and … Continue reading →

The Undertaker is the single most enduring character in WWE history. Perhaps the biggest success Mark Calaway can point to since debuting in 1990 has been his ability to keep things fresh. Initially, the character was an undead zombie, but the man has also played a Satanic ‘Lord Of Darkness’ and supernatural phenomenon, amongst others. One of the most startling shifts was when ‘Taker returned at Judgment Day 2000 as something completely fresh.
Going by the nickname, ‘American Bad Ass’, The Undertaker was suddenly more realistic than ever before. Looking to throw their weight behind this drastic new direction, the creative team handed ‘Taker more mic time and morphed him into an uncompromising brawler. Calaway’s real-life wife at the time, Sara was even eventually added into storylines.
By the time WrestleMania Xx in 2004 rolled around, WWE had decided to return ‘Taker to his roots. Ever since then, the character...

The Undertaker is WWE’s biggest legend. On screen he was a fearsome character and exceptional wrestler. Off screen he was a leader and inspiration to the locker room. He has carried this revered reputation for nearly three decades now, in a main event run that is unrivalled in the business.
His legacy will endure forever, but his story is perhaps over after losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. That loss marked the end of Taker’s 21 year unbeaten streak at WrestleMania. It was significant, because at that point, Undertaker and the streak were one of the same thing.
If that was the narrative ending for The Undertaker character, then what we are left with are some great memories. You’ll have your own personal favourite moments, perhaps the time he launched Mankind off Hell In A Cell or his classic match against Kurt Angle at No Way Out...

As a horror fan I’ve always liked the wrestlers with the darker sides. The Undertaker and Kane are two wrestlers who have had a certain mystique and managed to get away with the more silly story lines featuring the supernatural. For the most part though their destructive force has been more of an importance to their fans. WWE: Brothers of Destruction provides a few of their best matches in their time as a tag team.
WWE fans know that the relationship between Kane and Undertaker has been a strained one, especially based on the fact that they have had one of the best rivalries that the WWE managed to create. Working as a team though in the years when Undertaker was using his American Badass gimmick they were a very good tag team, and they came at a time when the WWE were riding on a high when it came to that division.

Batman and Robin, Laurel and Hardy, Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza. Some people just go together. Or, in the wrestling world: Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth, The Four Horsemen and The Outsiders. These are among of the most classic pairings in history. When you think of someone like Randy Savage, you can’t help but think of his lovely valet. When you think of Arn Anderson, you’ll naturally think of Flair.
But when you think of The Undertaker do you automatically think of his ex-wife Sara? When you talk about Scott Steiner does Stacy Keibler naturally follow next in the conversation? Some people have no business being together in wrestling. This is usually due to the fact that they have no chemistry. It’s two people that are forced to team up, but only end up being detrimental to each other’s careers.

A recent photo of Mark ‘The Undertaker’ Calaway has emerged online. Although grainy it clearly shows how much Calaway has aged as he approaches his 49th birthday on March the 24th. The man who we are used to seeing with black hair dye looks drastically different, instead sporting a white goatee beard. Perhaps he was inspired by the popularity of Daniel Bryan, but this beard has more in common with Santa Claus than the iconic beard of WWE’s hottest star. There’s little doubt that Taker will have shaved it off before he returns on Raw as expected next week.
What can also be noticed is a new neck tattoo on his throat. Calaway famously has the name of his second wife ‘Sara’ tattooed on his neck for many years, before getting it removed after he left her for Michelle McCool. This newest tattoo...
