- Maya McClean was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She is known for Moulin Rouge! (2001), Son of the Mask (2005) and The Lamp (2017).
- Worked on board the Sovereign of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, as a dancer in 2003.
- Was selected for Australian Idol 2 after auditioning, despite her twin sister Nandy McClean also auditioning, but not making it through.
- Despite making it into the top 30, she decided to pull out of Australian Idol 2, choosing instead to pursue her career together with her twin sister.
