- David Yazbek was born in 1961. He is known for The Ten (2007), Late Night with David Letterman (1982) and Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? (1991).
- Was nominated for Broadway's 2001 Tony Award as Best Original Musical Score, both words and music, for "The Full Monty."
- "The Full Monty" at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, California was awarded the 2002 Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Touring Production.
- Attended Brown University where he wrote an original musical with the production group Brownbrokers before graduating in 1982. He also directed a production of Hair with the student theatre group Production Workshop, for which he composed an original song to complement the classic score.
- Released five rock albums.
- Produced tracks for the band XTC, and its lead singer Andy Partridge has collaborated on Yazbek's solo albums.
