Today, Paramount+ debuted the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated third season of the original series Mayor of Kingstown. The new season will premiere on Sunday, June 2, in the U.S. and Canada and begin rolling out on June 3 in all other Paramount+ international markets.
Starring Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner, Mayor of Kingstown was co-created by Oscar nominees Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.
In season three, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls.
The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) to end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.

Jeremy Renner is back in business as Mike McLusky, returning as the "mayor" of the prison town known as Kingstown.
After his terrible accident, there were fears that he'd ever fill Mike's shoes again. Those fears were unfounded.
The explosive trailer for the upcoming third season proves he's nimble on his feet but even more potent with his words.
Mayor of Kingstown is a high-adrenaline series about a small town in the business of America’s prison system.
Kingstown is pushed to its limits again and again as rampant crime inside prison walls, and outside has a stranglehold on its population.
Things reached a boiling point in the first season, as a horrifying riot put many at risk.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 saw tensions rise even further as everyone weathered the impact of the riot and how to survive in its aftermath.

Jeremy Renner looks like he hasn’t lost a step in the first full official trailer for the long-awaited third season of Mayor of Kingstown.
Below, Renner is back in business as a Michigan crime boss in the Paramount+ series, which is from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
The season marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner returned to set one year after he was critically injured after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. He had broken 38 bones and his rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs.
But you wouldn’t know it from the new footage.

Tulsa King star and executive producer Sylvester Stallone has broken his social media silence since allegations he and one of the show’s directors had disparaged some background actors who were working on the Paramount+ drama.
Stallone, however, did not address the accusations. In an Instagram post on Monday, he wrote, “Ringing the bell on location for Tulsa King part two” next to a photo of him dressed in character as mafia capo Dwight ‘The General’ Mandfredi.

‘Tulsa King’ Casting Company Quits After Sylvester Stallone Accused Of Disparaging Background Actors
An Atlanta-based casting company has left Tulsa King in the wake of allegations that Sylvester Stallone and one of the directors had disparaged some background actors who were working on the Paramount+ drama.
Rose Locke Casting of Atlanta was hired to find actors ages 18 and over for the second season of the Taylor Sheridan series. But apparently the working conditions on Tulsa King soon became fodder on a private Facebook page for Atlanta-based background actors; Stallone and an unnamed director were accused of calling some of the extras “ugly,” “tub of lard” and “fat guy with cane.” The recipient of the latter comment apparently said later that it “hurt his soul” to hear himself described that way on set.
Allegedly, Stallone then suggested that production bring in “pretty young girls to be around me,” instead.
Rose Locke Casting announced on its Facebook page Sunday that it was leaving the show.

The new season of the series starring and executive produced by Sylvester Stallone, which is slated to debut this fall, has begun filming in Oklahoma and Atlanta.
Tulsa King follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), just after he is released from prison after 25 years and is unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a crew from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.

Exclusive: Craig Zisk has been tapped to direct and executive produce Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ original series Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, which has started production. Now designated as a comedy series, Tulsa King will film in Oklahoma and Atlanta.
As Deadline reported in February, Terence Winter, who stepped down as showrunner of the mob drama/comedy after its first season, has come back as a writer on Season 2 in addition to his continuing duties as an executive producer. The series opted not to get a replacement for Winter in line with the practice at the other Sheridan series produced by 101 Studios that don’t have a traditional showrunner. Instead, Tulsa King, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, was to bring in a director/executive producer, which it now has with Zisk’s hire.

Less than a year after announcing dual leadership at the production and distribution venture WonderHill Studios, veteran producers Bob Yari and Marvin Peart are parting ways.
The pair will disband as co-CEOs of the company, though Yari will remain an investor. The split is amicable, individuals familiar with the company said, and the men feel more comfortable moving forward with their own distinct visions. Peart will stay on as WonderHill CEO and oversee day-to-day operations moving forward.
Yari has formed a new production and releasing engine called Magenta Light Studios. His goal is to release three to five films per year in theaters. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. Ferrari, Edge of Tomorrow) to write all 10 installments. The series, which comes from Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, is aiming for a premiere date later this year on Paramount+ With Showtime.
The Department snagged a straight-to-series order in February 2023 at Showtime (shortly after Paramount Global announced the premium cabler would effectively be folded into Paramount+). At the time, George Clooney was announced as director, but he has ceded those duties to Wright. Clooney and producing partner Grant Heslov remain executive producers of the series, via their Smokehouse Pictures.

Terence Winter, who stepped down as showrunner of the Sylvester Stallone-starring mob drama Tulsa King after its first season, is back as a writer on Paramount+ series’ upcoming second season in addition to his continuing duties as an executive producer. The series, created by Taylor Sheridan, has opted not to bring in a replacement for Winter in line with the practice at the other Sheridan series produced by 101 Studios which don’t have a traditional showrunner. Instead, Tulsa King has hired a director/executive producer whose deal is still being finalized.
As Deadline reported a year ago, Winter stepped down from the showrunner post over creative differences with Sheridan. Winter, who had spoken about how much he enjoyed working with Stallone and loved the characters on the show, was to remain an executive producer on Tulsa King while focusing on other projects.

Guy Ritchie has been set to direct and executive produce the Paramount+ Ray Donovan series, ‘The Donovans.’
The forthcoming series, which is currently in development, has been described as a loose adaptation of the hit Showtime series that ran for seven seasons. The original show starred Liev Schreiber as a professional “fixer” who worked in Los Angeles, taking on high-profile clients and solving their problems using any means necessary. While the new series will draw inspiration from the original, it is expected to feature a fresh storyline and unique characters that will set it apart from its predecessor.
The spin-off description reads; With the most powerful clients in Europe, ‘The Donovans’ will see family fortunes and reputations at risk, odd alliances unfold, and betrayal around every corner; and while the family might be London’s most elite fixers today, the nature of their business means there is no guarantee what’s in store tomorrow.

The first season of Taylor Sheridan’s “Tulsa King” is set to make its broadcast debut this summer, airing on CBS ahead of the Paramount+ release of Season 2.
This isn’t the first time Paramount Global is bringing a Sheridan streaming series over to its broadcaster: The network has seen major success by bringing “Yellowstone” from the Paramount Network to CBS. The first episode reached 6.6 million viewers, and as Variety exclusively reported, 50% of those viewers had never seen the show before. The CBS debut also drove some wins back to streaming — though on NBCUniversal-owned Peacock, which owns the “Yellowstone” rights — where Variety reported that viewership increased by 26% over a 10-day period. But with “Tulsa King,” all viewership bumps will remain in-house for Paramount.
Per the company, “Tulsa King” is the second-most-watched series on Paramount+, following only Sheridan’s “1923.”

Paramount is bringing more of its Taylor Sheridan universe to CBS.
After the broadcast network previously aired the first two seasons of Yellowstone as part of its strike-impacted schedule, CBS will use the same strategy to bolster awareness of another Sheridan-produced show: Tulsa King.
Season one of the Paramount+ drama starring Sylvester Stallone will make its broadcast debut at a date to be determined on CBS in the summer, ahead of the sophomore run of the series returning in the fall to the streamer.
The move to bring Tulsa King to broadcast is part of Paramount Global’s larger strategy to repurpose streaming originals on its linear platforms. In addition to exposing streaming content to a broader audience, the move is more cost effective than making and launching a new scripted or unscripted series in the traditionally lower-viewership time of the year.

Following the successful run of Yellowstone on CBS, another Taylor Sheridan series is getting a lineaer window on the linear network. The popular original Paramount+ drama Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, will make its broadcast debut on CBS this summer. The series’ first season will air on the network ahead of Season 2 launching this fall exclusively on Paramount+.
The stunt is part of the ongoing efforts by Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS, Paramount+ and Yellowstone and Tulsa King studio MTV Entertainment Studios, to expose its content to new audiences on other platforms.
Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish addressed the move on the company’s earnings call Wednesday.
“We’re going to run the first season of Tulsa on CBS prior to the 2nd season of Tulsa dropping on Paramount+, really using it as a broad marketing engine,” he said. “As you know, we did a variant of that...

Willie Nelson & Family, a documentary series about the country music icon from filmmakers Thom Zimny and Oren Moverman, is set to bow on Paramount+ on Dec. 21.
The career retrospective is creatively driven by directors Zimny and Moverman, both recent Emmy winners — Zimny for directing the variety special Springsteen on Broadway and Moverman for the TV movie Bad Education, starring Hugh Jackman.
Paramount+ acquired the documentary series, which recalls Nelson’s life and long career as an iconic country music singer-songwriter, after its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Nelson participated in the production and allowed Zimny — a frequent Bruce Springsteen collaborator — and Moverman access to his archives.
The four-parter is executive produced by Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan and is a production of MTV Entertainment Studios, in association with 101 Studios, Blackbird Presents Films and Sight Unseen. “Willie’s music formed the soundtrack of my youth. Yellowstone is saddling up for its final ride.
Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network megahit will resume production on its final episodes in the late spring of 2024. Yellowstone, earlier this month, had set a premiere date of November 2024 for the second half of its fifth and final season, which last aired its midseason finale Jan. 6, 2023, and will usher in the end of the series.
The final episodes close the book on the current Dutton family saga. After ending on a game-changing cliffhanger involving Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), sister Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the second half of the season had initially been slated for this fall. But production was first delayed by a scheduling dispute over Costner’s status with the show and then by the dual writers and actors strikes, which brought about a halt of scripted productions.
