Ryan Murphy is looking to part ways with a historic mid-century home designed by iconic architect Richard Neutra — to the tune of $33.9 million.
The clean-lined house in Bel Air, California is known as The Brown House and was built in 1955 by the late architect, who was known for pioneering the idea of indoor-outdoor California living and whose houses have since been owned and prized by such entertainment names as Flea, Mitch Glazer and Kelly Lynch, stylist Jeanne Yang, and directors Josef von Sternberg and Marc Forster.
Feud and American Horror Story creator Murphy purchased the Brown House in 2022 and set about renovating it and decorating it in an eclectic style that wasn’t slavish to its mid-century roots. As he wrote in Architectural Digest earlier this year, “Instead of surrounding ourselves in one particular midcentury style that had long gone out of fashion (and was actually uncomfortable), why not invite...

What celebrities wear to awards shows is, at this point, pretty predicable. The protocol of Hollywood legacy demands they dress at least relatively tame.
But fashion people going to an awards show where they’re the celebs? There are no decorum dictates there! From gowns to shorts, heels to moto boots, fur to chiffon, minis to maxis, trad plaids to 3D florals, it was all on show at The Daily Front Row’s Eighth Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Sunday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel — on ladies and gentlemen.
At this awards show — where honorees included the legendary Bob Mackie, A-list hairstylist Adir Abergel, makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, models Elsa Hosk and Amelia Gray, and The Hollywood Reporter co-editor-in-chief Maer Roshan — the dress code “anything goes” is an understatement.

With credit surely partly due to the “Timothée Chalamet effect,” menswear hit new levels of creativity and expressiveness this year. “There’s a sense of zero fucks given,” says stylist Michael Fisher (who last year made tailored skirts a red carpet staple on client Oscar Isaac).
The risk-taking and loosening up of silhouettes, say stylist duo Wayman + Micah comes down to the fact that “the men in Hollywood just want to have just as much fun with looks, not to mention the trends of androgyny and unisexual dressing in our culture having an influence on acceptability.”
Flaunting Sheer
Instead of an obvious no-shirt approach, many male stars embraced sultry layering by pairing suits and sweaters with sheer shirts.
“You’re still getting body but not overt body,” says stylist Fisher, whose client Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) wore a gossamer Ami Paris tank with cardigan in November.

Monday night’s Met Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was a bonafide lovefest for Karl Lagerfeld, whose work is showcased in the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, opening Friday.
With some Met Gala themes, the sartorial choices can be a tad all over the place, and decidedly rooted in causing a social-media frenzy. While the latter was certainly true with several looks (hello, Jared Leto), the overall vibe Monday evening was rooted in paying tribute not only to the many, many designs Lagerfeld produced during his six-decade career but also to the elements that defined the man himself and the design codes he happily embraced within the iconic houses he famously oversaw.
Chanel, the gala’s primary sponsor, was the clear winner in that equation, not only in the number of stars dressed by the legendary French house — which included Nicole Kidman,...

The Los Angeles native got her start assisting veteran stylist Jeanne Yang, with whom she continues to work on looks for Simu Liu and Kumail Nanjiani. “Jeanne has taught me to be confident in my decisions and trust my instincts,” Takayanagi says of her mentor. For awards season, she went out on her own, dressing Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan: “His style is classic and tailored but with a little twist of quirkiness,” says Takayanagi, who especially loved Quan’s red velvet Armani at the Critics Choice Awards. “It was the perfect style to bring a bit of Chinese culture in while keeping it elegant.” As for Quan’s signature lapel pins, she says it started with a DIY googly-eye pin on his Thom Browne tux at the Golden Globes and gained momentum from there: “It was a way to nod to...

On the rooftop of Holloway House, one of the newest hotel properties of Soho House, a host of actresses who are fans of Roger Vivier brands came out to celebrate the accessories brand on the evening of Dec. 9.
During cocktails, Mayfair Witches and The White Lotus star Alexandra Daddario chatted with Roger Vivier creative director Gherardo Felloni about his unique holiday home in Italy, a former lighthouse on Giglio Island off the coast of Tuscany. Stylist Jeanne Yang — whose client list of stylish actors includes Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, Jason Momoa, Jamie Dornan, Simu Liu, Christian Bale and Regé-Jean Page — has discerning taste in home design as well as clothing.
Twenty-two years ago, she and her husband, Scott Cort, bought an architecturally significant home in Woodland Hills, California, designed by the influential architect Richard Neutra.
Now, the couple has decided to list the house (with Allen Roth of Sotheby’s International Realty), putting it on the market for 3.3 million. The four-bedroom residence — known as the J.N. Baldwin House and located in the western San Fernando Valley — was built in 1962. Among the details that have been faithfully preserved are an original built-in wall clock, sconces and light switches, all chosen by Neutra. Original chalk drawings by Neutra, plus blueprints and a construction book, also are included in the listing.

Phil Dunster tells me that the third season of “Ted Lasso” begins filming on Jan. 31.
“Honestly, I’m not trying to be coy, but I don’t know anything,” he said when asked about upcoming storylines on the Apple TV series. “I think they like to keep it fresh. But also Jason [Sudeikis] knows what the story arc is. He sprinkles ideas of what’s going to come here and there but there’s nothing really specific. They’re in the writers room now and we’ll see what happens.”

Warren Alfie Baker is always on the hunt for just the right bow tie. He’s a Hollywood stylist who helps keep such clients as Lucas Hedges, Norman Reedus and Harry Shum Jr. looking sharp.
“It seems like the easiest thing to sort out, but so many mistakes can be made,” Baker tells Variety.
And the last place you want to make any of those mistakes during awards season is at the Oscars.
These five tips will help you find the perfect bow tie for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year.

Well, here’s a welcome surprise straight out of left field. This past weekend, Tom Holland, Jon Favreau, and Robert Downey Jr. came together for a Marvel shoot – and posted a series of photos online to prove it.
Perhaps as a means of celebrating National Superhero Day, the three Spider-Man: Homecoming actors posed for a “secret shoot,” fuelling rumors that the Powers That Be over at Marvel have ordered some form of standalone promo for Jon Watts’ reboot – similar to those featuring Thor and his exceptionally average roommate, Darryl, perhaps? There’s every chance that Marvel has simply ordered some last-minute reshoots in anticipation of the impending July release date, but when you consider the effortless chemistry between Holland and Robert Downey Jr., it would almost be a shame if the studio didn’t launch some form of short film to bridge the gap between Civil War and Homecoming.
Remember the Marvel One-Shots?...

Designers are normally falling over themselves to send actors fashions to wear on high-profile red carpets. So why did Leslie Jones just have to put them all on blast? They apparently decided her walk down the carpet for the Ghostbusters premiere wasn't worth their time or fabric. While it's true the women of Ghostbusters know how to get down and dirty, they can be equally classy and fabulous when they want to. Take for example this recent cover series for Elle. But it seems Jones is having some difficulty finding something to wear for the Ghostbusters premiere. She tweeted, "It's so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie. Hmmm that will change and I remember everything It's so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie. Hmmm that will change and I remember...

Charlize Theron could soon be coming to a store near you. It's being reported that she and stylist Leslie Fremar are planning to launch a new denim line called Theron Jeans, and are currently shopping for a mass market store that will sell the product.
The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter. Theron's publicist did not confirm the Theron Jeans report.
Theron would not be the first celebrity to launch her own fashion line. The Kardashan sisters have the Kardashian Kollection at Sears, and Katie Holmes teamed with Jeanne Yang to create the Katie Young line at Target. Considering how great Theron's fashion sense is all the time, it seems like a denim collection -- if she does make it -- would be a great addition to the fashion world.
