We Get a New Peek at 'Watchmen' and a First Look at 'The Wolfman'

25 July 2008 8:08 PM, PDT | From Rope Of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

Photo: RopeofSilicon.com With the majority of my Friday at Comic Con over I have seen the new Watchmen footage and interviewed Watchmen director Zack Snyder, "Watchmen" artist/co-creator Dave Gibbons, and cast members including Jackie Earl Haley, James Dean Morgan, Carla Gugino, Malin Ackerman, Matthew Goode, Patrick Wilson and Billy Crudup. Basically, I talked with all of them and I will have those interviews for you over the next couple of days. As for the footage, I am sorry to say it was rather underwhelming after seeing the trailer. The new footage included several new scenes many of you will recognize from the graphic novel and extensions of scenes from the trailer including a better idea of how R-rated it is as we see Dr. Manhattan reeking havoc in Vietnam as the Vietnamese don't just go poof, the go Boom in an explosion of blood and slices of skin.

Fantastic ‘Watchmen’ trailer debuts on web

17 July 2008 4:13 PM, PDT | From screeninglog.com | See recent screeninglog news

I really don’t know what’s going on, but I think this week’s is the year’s week of awesome trailers. First we got a quick look at Frank Miller’s “The Spirit.” Then we caught a glimpse of Christian Bale in “Terminator Salvation.” And now, we finally get a better idea of what Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen” will look like on the big screen.

At this stage, I think it’s pretty safe to say that this flick looks amazing. The Smashing Pumpkins song fits right in, the visual effects look gorgeous and the footage of some of the film’s actions sequences is utterly captivating. But see for yourself below. “Watchmen” stars Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman and Carla Gugino. The flick opens March 6, 2009.

Patrick Wilson Confirms Watchmen's Ending Will Be Like the Graphic Novel

16 July 2008 9:35 AM, PDT | From firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news

There is one thing that everyone should be excited to see this weekend on top of The Dark Knight - the first Watchmen trailer. I happened to get an early look at it this week and it truly took my breath away. But alas, that will officially launch at 9Pm Pst on Thursday - so check back in then. However, as buzz begins to pick up on Watchmen, one of the big questions on the minds of fans is whether or not they're going to keep the original ending. If you've read the graphic novel, you know it ends in an epic and gory way - but it's pretty damn perfect and exciting. Of course, we're not going to straight out tell you exactly how the Watchmen ends, because that would be ridiculous! But Patrick Wilson, who plays Nite Owl in the movie, talked with MTV recently and assured them

Broadway's Ticket Prices Make Movies' Look Cheap

18 June 2008 10:35 AM, PDT | From Studio Briefing | See recent Studio Briefing news

Although the average price of a movie ticket rose by half from 1997 to 2007 (to $6.88 from $4.59 -- with pricing for children and seniors included in the calculation) moviegoing remains a bargain when compared with the costs of other forms of entertainment. The Associated Press observed Tuesday that tickets for the Broadway revival of All My Sons, starring Katie Holmes, John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson will be priced at $116.50, about the same as Equus, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths. Tickets will have a top price of $251.50 for "best seats in the house" while holiday weeks will see a spike in prices to $301.50.

Tribeca '08: Tracey Hecht on "Life in Flight"

8 May 2008 7:35 AM, PDT | From ifc.com | See recent IFC news

By Stephen Saito

[For complete coverage of the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival, check out Ifc's Tribeca page.]

There's a moment late in "Life in Flight" when Will (Patrick Wilson) tells his young son, "I haven't been paying a lot of attention lately." It's a difficult thing to admit for the harried husband and father, who spends most of the film kowtowing to his wife Kate (Amy Smart), who'd rather see him land a major commission for his architectural firm than have him attend their son's biodiversity science fair. As Will finds out, such choices have left him with the life he might once have imagined for himself, but not one he wanted. Though he's become a successful architect, the lines that have defined his life have become blurred, particularly when he meets Kate (Lynn Collins), a free-spirited designer. Writer/director Tracey Hecht knows something about those kinds of decisions, having recently broken away from a career in design to make her feature debut, which
