In Feed the Beast Season 1 Episode 6, Thirio opens its doors for a successful soft opening – but between an unexpected hookup, a visit from child protective services and a gang shooting, it wasn't exactly a peaceful one.
This episode is titled "The Wild West," a reference to Dion's repeated insistence that opening a high-end restaurant in the Bronx is the equivalent of braving the Oregon Trail.
This comes up not once, but twice in this episode, and each time it made me cringe.

The scene that was simultaneously the best and worst thing about "The Wild West" was Pilar's passionate hookup with Dion prior to the restaurant's soft opening. Unlike everything that happens in the gangster scenes, it was something that I actually didn't see coming.
It was awesome to finally see Pilar grow a backbone and stand up to Dion, who has demeaned...

We interview Michelle Gomez about slapstick, stand-up, Steven Moffat, playing Doctor Who's Missy, and her new web series...
Michelle Gomez, seen last year as Doctor Who’s havoc-causing, murderous Missy, has a memorable history of bananas TV roles behind her. There’s been Green Wing’s Sue White, Bad Education’s Pickwell, and more recently Psychobitches’ meth-head Mary Queen Of Scots and projectile-vomiting Margaret Thatcher.
If you were to make a Venn diagram depicting the crossover between deeply funny and fundamentally unhinged TV characters, you'd likely end up with just a .gif of Gomez, gnashing her teeth and riding a camel.
In new web series Heather’s American Medicine, she takes on another comic persona, that of a straight-talking online agony aunt doling out highly questionable advice to America’s troubled citizens.
We caught up with Gomez, whose take on The Master is confirmed to be returning to Doctor Who this year,...

As Doctor Who series 8 draws towards its end, Andrew ticks off everything we've learned about Michelle Gomez's character, Missy, so far.
Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who series 8 up to and including Flatline.
The article will begin after a picture of Daphne The Spoiler Squirrel. Only if you're ready for spoiler chat should you scroll past Daphne. She won't be offended either way.
"Clara. My Clara, I chose well."
Empiricism and Steven Moffat series arcs. We meet again.
The line above, said at the end of tonight’s Doctor WHo episode, Flatline, strongly implies that Missy chose Clara for something, which ties in with the on-going plot strand about the ‘Woman in the shop’ who gave Clara the Doctor’s number. It doesn’t, of course, confirm that it was Missy in the shop, that she was involved, or indeed even that it was Clara who was chosen.

The latest series 8 casting news has Green Wing's Michelle Gomez playing "The Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere"...
News
"Brilliant, Scottish and a tiny bit satanic." That's how Steven Moffat describes the latest guest star announced for Doctor Who series eight: Michelle Gomez.
Seen of late in BBC Three's Bad Education, Gomez is known and loved for her role as the unpredictable, devilish Sue White in Channel Four's Green Wing, and came to popular attention in Annie Griffin's The Book Group. She's also an accomplished stage actress, recently winning plaudits in the RSC's 2012 production of The Taming Of The Shrew.
Doctor Who fans though, will soon know Gomez as The Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere, pictured below in period dress. Filming continues on series eight.
Doctor Who returns to UK television on Saturday the 23rd of August.
