The folks at MTV News have seen New Moon and are in love. Today they are sharing their top five reasons that New Moon delivers. Check out their reasons belowThe Acting Is BetterMaybe its because the franchises stars are one year older. Perhaps its because of director Chris Weitz. Or most likely the stars have the confidence of now knowing that these films will be seen by millions and are feeling more comfortable stepping into the skin of the characters theyll be known as forever. Whatever the reason every returning actor is better in this film than in Twilight. Most notable is Taylor Lautner who displays incredible screen presence and physicality in his first true starring role and Kristen Stewart who perfectly conveys the heartbreak and insanity of Bellas fractured mental state with every scream sob and adrenalinefueled wicked grin.It Looks GreatDespite what some critics had to say the »

Last year, Moviefone's unscripted series for Twilight included a wonderful and extremely popular interview between and by Stephenie Meyer, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart. This year, they've brought director Chris Weitz, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner together for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. In the interview, they talk about everything from the scene which Weitz was most interested in filming at the outset to what the more-experienced Taylor Lautner now would tell the fledgling Twilight actor Taylor Lautner last year in the way of how to prepare for the experience of being where he is now. Needless to say, it was a great intervi ... »

As promised the answers to many countless questions addressed to Stephenie Meyer have been answered and posted today. Stephenie answers questions from the books to the movies and more. Read more belowI love that you decided to skip over describing that first week and the following months after the breakup between Edward and Bella. It makes it that much more gutwrenching because you truly feel like Bella was detached from herself and the world. I was wondering if it was your initial intent to leave that void there or did you edit anything out? Did you start by writing how she felt the next morning after Sam found her? I always wonder if it was just too hard to write for you. Thank you so much for answering these questions for us. Your books The Host too have changed my life. Beverly Hills, California — By now, loyal Stephenie Meyer fans feel like they know every nuance of her best-selling vampire series. Every word has been recited like Shakespeare, every moment of passion recounted breathlessly, every pivotal moment re-enacted in countless YouTube videos. But with "New Moon" finally about to hit theaters, the film's stars insist that they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
"I think it looks completely different [than they'll expect]," Robert Pattinson told us recently, insisting that director Chris Weitz has chosen a color palette (most notable in scenes involving the meadow and the confrontation in Italy) that is far more epic than fans might be used to. "I mean, just the colors and everything. It sounds really technical, but the first one »

No, this is not a joke. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is now officially the top-selling pre-release title in Fandango's 10-year history. The upcoming "Twilight" sequel beat the record Saturday evening.
Chris Weitz's "New Moon" is currently grabbing 86% of weekly ticket sales at the online ticket shop. Thousands of Thursday midnight screenings are already sold out, but tickets to showings are still avaliable.
"For many fans, it's clearly the year's most anticipated film event," said Rick Butler, Fandango chief operating officer. "Ever since tickets went on sale on August 31, it's been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers, as 'New Moon' has a strong pull on audiences."
He said, "We're seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family." »

'Twilight' author tells Oprah she's concentrating on sci-fi series 'The Host.'

"I can't answer it." That was the non-answer "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer gave in bonus footage from her appearance on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" when asked if there might one day be a fifth book in the series.
"The way I write is ... it's what makes me happy," she said. "I can't write when I feel like people are looking over my shoulder. So I have to tell myself that this book I'm not going to publish. It's only for me, it's never going to leave my computer and I have to really believe that to be able to work on it."
Meyer admits she's "a little burnt out" on vampires right now, so she's planning to take a break to spend some time with her aliens, i. »

Yep, we've seen "New Moon." And the best news we can give you might be this: We want to see it again. And again.
Most of us here at MTV News make no secret of the fact that we're fans of the franchise, and if you're reading this story, we know you'll see this latest "Twilight" installment — which is why we wanted to write something that doesn't so much say, "See this movie," as it says, "Don't worry; this movie is all you're hoping for."
So, after a few days of reflection, here's our spoiler-free list of the ways that "New Moon" delivers:
The Acting Is Better
Maybe it's because the franchise's stars are one year older. Perhaps it's because of director Chris Weitz. »

The Twilight Saga: New Moon began shooting in March 2009 in Vancouver and ended in Montepulciano, an ancient walled city in Italy. The two cities provided a strong contrast—the dark nights and mysterious, deep green forests of British Columbia, and the organic, burnished tones of Tuscany inform the film’s look equally. “The light in the Pacific Northwest provides a great deal of diffusion and coolness,” Chris Weitz says. “Within that, there are plenty of beautiful colors, and our intention was to use the lion’s share of them. Shadows are also important —the forest at night, the blackness of depression. “The light is much different in Tuscany,” Weitz notes. “It has much warmer tones and is literally much sunnier, with pops of color from the costumes. The architecture is different as well. Montepulciano is known for its Renaissance architecture, with remnants of medieval architecture as well.” Production designer David Brisbin »

Yesterday, in Part I of our Exclusive Interview with New Moon director Chris Weitz, he discussed setting the second Twilight film apart from its predecessor while simultaneously maintaining the veracity of the central characters. He also discussed the pivotal Volturi sequence that's set in Italy and the different acting styles in play in it. Here, in Part II of our conversation with Weitz, he continues to discuss the Volturi sequence, expresses his satisfaction with the finished film, and offers details about what might be his next project -- and it's not necessarily Breaking Dawn. You mentioned the various styles of performance in the Volturi scene and touched on Kristen Stewart's turn and Michael Sheen's. But how about Dakota Fanning? She hardly says a word and yet her Jane is a pretty disturbing little character… Dakota, she has a relatively small part in terms of the number of lines »

USA Today has an awesome new article with a gorgeous new set of photos from Kristen Stewart Taylor Lautner and New Moon director Chris Weitz. In the new article they dissect the love triangle that begins in New Moon and they also have some great interview excerpts from Kristen Taylor and Chris. Check out a preview belowIn New Moon Edward does make a stupid mistake by leaving Bella and that allows Jacob in says director Chris Weitz. ReelzChannel has another new interview from their Hollywood Dailies this time with Chris Weitz. Chris talks about how he got into New Moon his love for the story how he took over with the cast from Twilight and talking with Stephenie Meyer. Thanks Kristin!I really never get enough of Chris talking about New Moon. He seems to really love what he does and he truly seems to love the story. That kind of passion for something just makes these interviews very compelling. Its pretty cool he wanted the opinions of Rob Kristen and Taylor on their characters in the very beginning. Not all directors would really care what their actors think about things like that.Did you like this interview with Chris? »

Chris Weitz had a tough act to follow. The talented writer-producer-director had directed such films as American Pie (1999), About a Boy (2002), and The Golden Compass (2007), and now he's the man behind the camera on one of the year's most breathlessly anticipated movies, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009). Just that title alone clues you into the myriad tasks and quandaries at hand for Weitz: he was stepping into an existing franchise that got off to a blockbuster start last year with Twilight (2008); he was taking over from another director (Catherine Hardwicke) with an entirely different style; he was inheriting a cast -- including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner -- already intimately familiar with their respective roles, and he was directing a movie that was no longer just a sequel to a popular movie, but rather the next installment in a billion-dollar phenomenon. PopStar recently spoke with Weitz by telephone »
