Need a horror movie to watch on Christmas? There are plenty to choose from. The classic slashers Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night. The thrills of P2. The brutality of the French film Inside. The insanity of Gremlins. But how about a movie where the lives of millions of children hang in the balance? Where a demonic force wants to unleash tiny terrors on the world… and they can only be stopped by a group of tiny heroes. We’re talking about Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (watch it Here) – and if you haven’t added this one to your Christmas viewing rotation, it’s the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.

Grieve, written and Directed by Robbie Smith and starring Paris Peterson and Danielle Keaton, is out now on Digital Platforms in North America from Terror Films.
Synopsis:
A man engulfed in the suffocating grip of loss finds his life fragmented. Struggling to navigate through his emotional fog, his mother suggests a retreat to her cabin – but an ancient entity that thrives on sorrow has taken root. The New England winter punctuates this love letter to creeping horror and slow cinema, like a marriage of Chantal Ackerman and Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

I have a shaky relationship with Village of the Damned. On the one hand, it’s a pretty piss-poor movie in a lot of ways. It has a lot going against it. It’s a remake, the acting is ludicrous, and some of the decisions made by the characters are just mind-numbing. On the other hand, it is a John Carpenter movie, and as we’ve all learned by this point — with the exception of The Ward — even a bad John Carpenter movie is better than a lot of filmmakers’ good movies. So yes, it’s a ridiculous movie, and yes, it’s really easy to get a group of friends together, and throw this on for the purpose of laughing at it, and yes, this movie turns Christopher Reeve — a man famous to most of us because of his portrayal of Superman, humanity’s symbol of hope — into a...

April 12th is a good day to be a genre fan, as we have several great releases coming our way this Tuesday. Arrow Films has put together the definitive edition of the cult classic Bride of Re-Animator that is filled to the brim with all sorts of awesomeness, and Scream Factory is taking us to the Village of the Damned with their Collector’s Edition Blu-ray as well as a double feature of Destroyer and Edge of Sanity.

I’d love to be there for this; alas, I won’t be anywhere near Paris, France, this weekend. But maybe You will. It’s the France Noire, or Black France Film Festival, and it’ll be debuting this weekend, in Paris, running from Friday, May 21st through Sunday May 23rd, with a mixture of film screenings (both old and new) and panel discussions planned.
Luminaries expected to be present for screenings of their films, and/or to speak include Euzhan Palcy, Eriq Ebouaney, Isaach de Bankolé, & Alex Descas – all names you should be familiar with if you’ve been reading this blog!
In addition, the late Ousmane Sembene’s seminal 1966 film La Noire de (aka Black Girl), will screen, along with one of my favorite Claire Denis films, 1990’s S’en fout la mort (No Fear, No Die), which starred Isaach de Bankole and Ale Descas, and Aliker, a...

Here, Cabin Fever 's Rider Strong plays Eric Rainer, a troubled grad student searching for his girlfriend who has mysteriously vanished. Desperate for answers, he meets a beautiful stranger (Danielle Keaton) who lost her boyfriend under similar circumstances.
