He was awarded the 1972 NAACP Image Award for Best Actor for the play, "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Taught theater in Poughkeepsie, NY for Capital Repertory Theater in Albany, NY.
Survived by his wife, two sons, Brinan and Christian Jack, and two daughters, Demery, and Eva Weeks.
