The Toronto Star called him one of Canada's top publicist. Bill Vigars
first project was on the 1980s CBS late night series "Night Heat",
where he also acted in over 25 episodes as either a drag queen or wino.
He has worked with a wide range of talent from the Bowery Boy's Huntz
Hall, to Diane Lane, Phyllis Diller, Buster Rhymes and Donald
Sutherland. Renowned for his vast collection of unusual shoes, Vigars
has been in publicity for over 40 years. His role in the heroic
Marathon of Hope was portrayed by Robert Duval in the 1981 feature film
"The Terry Fox Story."
He appeared uncredited in 20 episodes of the 80's TV series "Night
Heat", either as a wino or transvestite, and one episode where he was
credited as "Wino"
His involvement in the 1980 Terry Fox Marathon of Hope has been
chronicled in two movies "The Terry Fox Story (1982) where he was
portrayed by Rober Duvall and the 2005 CTV version "Terry", where is
character was portrayed by Matt Godon.
