"Low Winter Sun," the new AMC drama premiering this Sunday, August 11 at 10pm after "Breaking Bad," is set in Detroit, in a world where cops and criminal get a little too close for comfort. Rob Zombie’s Halloween II soundtrack. Halloween II is the misleadingly-titled tenth instalment in the long-running slasher movie franchise, and the ninth focusing on the misdeeds of reckless knife-waggler Michael Myers (Halloween III: Season of the Witch bemusingly replaced the white-masked maniac with Dan O’Herlihy’s malevolent Irishman). And following on from 2007’s series reboot, the directorial megaphone is once more wielded by House of 1000 Corpses helmer and erstwhile White Zombie singer Rob Zombie. So we’re dealing with an icon of modern horror cinema here, in a feature overseen by a one-time rock star – surely logic therefore dictates that the accompanying Halloween II soundtrack be a rock-tacular compendium of diamond-dense aural brutality? Well, track one is Mor-radio fave Knights in White Satin by the Moody Blues, an opener which leaves my ears noticeably unscarred, despite the manic wig-out on the flute solo.
