First things first: yes, that is her real name, or at least the one that she’s gone by professionally since 1980 (you can check the end credits on previous shows). Susan Twist is indeed the actor who has made a cameo appearance in every episode of Doctor Who this series, as well as the 2023 Christmas special and anniversary adventure “Wild Blue Yonder”.
That fact is worth establishing because “Susan Twist” is a ridiculously fun name for a Doctor Who actor to have. That’s because the show’s first season in 1963 introduced a 15-year-old character named Susan Foreman, the Doctor’s granddaughter. Susan was left behind on 22nd century Earth after falling in love with a local boy, and was told by the Doctor in 1964 episode “Flashpoint” that one day he would come back (though if he did, we never saw him do it).

What’s a film without distribution? The Popcorn List sets out to make sure that doesn’t happen to the best indies.
Founded by Lela Meadow-Conner and Barbara Twist, the inaugural annual survey spotlights 20 features that debuted at major or regional film festivals this past year and come highly recommended by festival programmers. Nineteen out of the 20 movies have reviews on Letterboxd, despite not yet having theatrical or digital distribution in the U.S. All 20 have won awards — including Audience Awards and Jury Awards — at festivals like Sundance and SXSW.
Billed as being The Black List for undistributed films, the 2024 Popcorn List highlights independent films that are currently still without domestic U.S. distribution, like the documentary “Chasing Chasing Amy” about the making of Kevin Smith’s comedy.
The other 18 are: “Ajoomma,” “American Pot Story: Oaksterdam,” “Art for Everybody,” “Asog,” “Blood Sweat & Beers,” “Caterpillar,” “Citizen Sleuth,” “City of Wind,” “Crows Are White,...

Masters of the Air is finally here and the fans of The Pacific and Band of Brothers are going crazy over the masterfully created World War II series. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the Apple TV+ series revolves around the pilots of bomber planes in the 100th Bomb Group as they fight with everything they have to protect the world from Nazis. Based on a novel by Donald L. Miller titled Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, the series is adapted for television by John Shiban and John Orloff, it feels like the third entry in the World War II shows by Spielberg and Hanks. Masters of the Air is genuinely one of the best series I have seen in many years, check out my review of the complete series here.

Lil Wayne abruptly ended his Saturday night show in Los Angeles after fans, who had waited for him for three and a half hours, were not enthusiastic enough about his guest performances.
The “Lollipop” rapper took to the stage for the final show of his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, an hour later than the scheduled start time. After performing for about 30 minutes, Wayne introduced some of the members of his Young Money label, including Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas, and left them to perform.
Wayne was dissatisfied, to say the least, by the crowd’s response to his new artists and soon returned to the stage during Cubas’ performance to announce that the show was over.

Lil Wayne abruptly ended the final show of his “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour” at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Saturday after accusing the crowd of disrespecting his fellow performers.
“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards for these folks. We work too hard for this shit. We work way too hard,” Lil Wayne told the audience.
Wayne’s concert got off to a rocky start after the rapper took the stage more than an hour later the scheduled start time. After playing for about 30 minutes, Weezy left the stage so that members of his Young Money label — including Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas — could perform.
Wayne apparently felt the crowd’s response to the artists was lackluster, and he soon returned to the stage to announce that the show was over. “We work too hard for this shit, we work way too hard.

Harry Styles may be one of the hottest music artists in the world, but when he comes home to visit his mom he’s just plain old Harry.
“He’s just the same as he has always been,” the singer’s mother, Anne Twist, recently told the Daily Mail. “As a very little boy, he was very much like he is now, just a smaller version.”
In fact, Twist added, when the “Watermelon Sugar” singer comes for a visit, the first thing he’ll do is head for the kitchen and “open the fridge” for a snack.

Each year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences attempts to award Oscars to the “best” film or artist in each category that year, and each year it fails at least a few times.
There is always room for disagreement on what constitutes “best”: how can we possibly compare Toy Story 3, Inception and The King’s Speech? And yet voters did just that in 2010.
It is similarly impossible to nail down all the egregious choices in academy history, but here are a few of the most glaring errors, with just days to go until the 2023 ceremony. Starting with the granddaddy of them all...

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly… We’re apparently on the road to Wrestlemania so let’s get into it!
Match #1: Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa def. The Street Profits The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After the turbulent events of Friday’s SmackDown, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso stood with Solo Sikoa to claim The Bloodline is as strong as ever without Jey Uso anywhere in sight. They were soon interrupted by The Street Profits, and it wasn’t long before the two tandems engaged in a pre-match brawl. In the subsequent matchup, The Street Profits used tag team precision against Jimmy. They didn’t realize, however, that Solo was actually the legal Superstar. After launching Ford off the top rope to the ringside floor, Sikoa blasted Dawkins with the Samoan Spike for the three-count.

New year, new Netflix! January 2023’s slate can keep viewers entertained amidst all the gray skies and rainstorms, with new original films like “Dog Gone” starring Rob Lowe to classics like “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks. Those who can’t get enough of the adrenaline of “Top Gun: Maverick” can stream the original film on Netflix now, too.
Other genres well-represented in the batch of new titles on Netflix in January include the whodunnit and rom-com, with several options like “The Pale Blue Eye” and “You People” landing as Netflix originals. For those in a more serious mood, “Brokeback Mountain” is now available. “Minions: The Rise of Gru” promises fun for the whole family with Illumination animation, child-favorite characters and a throwback to songs of the seventies for parents.

Flatmates have always been a goldmine for sitcoms, but the format was especially abundant on British TV in the '90s. You had Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson beating the crap out of each other in ultra-violent slapstick fashion in "Bottom," Ben Chaplin playing an agoraphobic roomie from hell in "Game On," and two guys talking about boobs and drinking beer in the roaringly popular and very laddish "Men Behaving Badly." Even "Red Dwarf" was basically the same formula, just set on a spacecraft three million years in the future where one flatmate was an android and another evolved from the ship's cat. Then you had "Friends" on its immensely successful Channel 4 run, like an affluent and super good-looking acquaintance wafting into a party full of slightly down-at-heel guests to dazzle with its slick writing and to-die-for New York apartments.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of the Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 premiere on Thursday.
“Everything Has Changed” is the title of Grey’s Anatomy‘s Season 19 premiere, which aired tonight. Yet, a lot of it also felt very familiar. In a throwback to Grey’s Anatomy‘s pilot, the season opener, set six months after the Season 18 finale, chronicled the first day of Grey Sloan’s new interns, played by Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho and Midori Francis, just like Episode 101 did with Meredith and her fellow wide-eyed rookie interns.
In another likely nod to the Grey’s Anatomy pilot — which famously started with Meredith having a one-night stand with Patrick Dempsey’s Derek — one of the new interns, Jules (Kane), also accidentally had slept with an attending, Link, on the eve of her starting the program.
It is similarly impossible to nail down all the egregious choices in academy history, but here are a few of the most glaring errors. Starting with the granddaddy of them all...

Also, Dustin’s penchant for Dig Dug (in which creatures are confronted in maze-line tunnels) turned out to be a bit of foreshadowing, eh?
