Roberto Cavalli, former designer and founder of the eponymous fashion brand, has died. He was 83.
The famous fashion designer had been ill for a long time, leaving and entering the hospital more and more often for ritual checkups, his family told The Hollywood Reporter.
The company also shared the news on its official Instagram, writing, “Roberto succeeded in becoming a globally recognised name loved and respected by all. Naturally talented and creative, Roberto believed that everyone can discover and nurture the artist within themselves.”
In 1970, he made his debut in Paris with the brands that still bear his name today. Art has always been in Cavalli’s DNA. His grandfather was a painter of the Macchiaioli current and his works are still on display in the Uffizi Gallery in Italy.

Netflix has dropped its first key art and several new images for Supersex, the hotly anticipated biographical series on Italian porn star Rocco Siffredi.
Alessandro Borghi, star of Netflix’s mafia drama series Suburra and 2022 Cannes jury prize winner The Eight Mountains, plays Rocco in the fictionalized take on the porn actor’s life. The seven-episode series — created and written by Francesca Manieri, Lorenzo Mieli for Fremantle-owned The Apartment and Matteo Rovere for Banijay’s Groenlandia — will bow on Netflix worldwide March 6, 2024. Rovere, Francesco Carrozzini and Francesca Mazzoleni are directing.
Netflix has said the series is “freely inspired” by Siffredi’s life and career, as well as from direct testimony from Siffredi. Supersex plans to tell the soup-to-nuts story of Rocco from his childhood and family origins through his “relationship with love” that led him to pursue a career in porn.

Picking up right where the previous episode of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” left off, Maggie and co. dig deeper through the Methane-filled sewers of New York City while Negan and Marshall Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles) venture off on their own journey through the city. Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) is now also along for the ride after intervening during the attack on Madison Square Garden.
Napoleon’s character continues to not say a word, choosing only to communicate through judgmental glances. Meanwhile, the Croat (Željko Ivanek) takes a rage-fueled trip to an abandoned theater where he reports the recent skirmish to a mysterious woman called the Dama (Lisa Emery) who seems to be his superior.
The Methane in the sewers causes Maggie to aggressively hallucinate, once again replaying the visual of Glenn (Steven Yeun) getting his head bashed in by Negan. The shocking flashback was very effective in the series pilot,...

The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 4
The idea that anyone could be too much of a psychopath for the Saviors is, honestly, hard to swallow. The first time we meet Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan on The Walking Dead, he introduces himself by bashing a couple of fan favorite characters to death. His chief lieutenant, Simon (Steven Ogg), is at least as bad as his boss. None of the Savior leadership were good people; at the time, the Saviors title seemed ironic. Now that Negan has been established a little better on The Walking Dead: Dead City, it’s easy to see just how things got so out of control. If Simon is the voice of reason, then things are too far gone to save.
It’s no wonder Maggie has such a grudge against The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek) for taking her son.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 3
My initial comparison between The Walking Dead: Dead City and Escape from New York was, at first glance, only surface level. There are similarities, clearly, but I had no idea that The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek) was having gladiator fights in a non-union store-brand equivalent of the Octagon. Now it’s clear that Dead City is a riff on Escape from New York, and as far as things to pattern your show after, you could do worse than John Carpenter. He’s the master of genre flicks, after all; for all the emphasis on human drama and soap opera emotions, The Walking Dead universe is a survival horror universe at its very core, and touches like this show a willingness to embrace that.
Of course, you have to have something in between all the special effects and action sequences.

When AMC ordered The Walking Dead: Dead City, I was worried about how long the series would be able to stretch the Maggie and Negan dynamic.
And then comes The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 3, a near-perfect hour of TV that successfully built a bridge between them.
By this point in their story, we know a lot about who they are as people, including their hopes and fears, but you could tell they were both bonded by the thought of losing the people they loved.
In the real world, people struggle with losing the people they love, but that must be somewhat accelerated in a world overrun by zombies.
The chances of reuniting with people you lose contact with are slimmer than ever in this universe, so all Maggie had of the people she loved were in her memory box.
Her arc has been widely governed by the people she's lost,...

Our journey into apocalyptic New York City continues with “The Walking Dead: Dead City” Episode 2, titled “Who’s There?” Continuing right where Episode 1 left off, Maggie and Negan are chasing a strange, long haired woman (Eleanor Reissa) who has swiped their bags. During the pursuit, the duo encounter ziplines that allow for traversal between buildings. A particularly impressive shot shows Maggie desperately nudging herself to the end of the zipline, as she risks getting stuck hanging above the walker-infested streets of Manhattan. After catching the thief, they realize she meant no harm and simply wants to trade.
The entire chase sequence is a bit jarringly paced, and the opening moments of the episode lack the cinematic urgency of a sequence where Maggie and Negan are being robbed. In the end, the long-haired woman leads Maggie and Negan to a survivor community (including Jonathan Higginbotham’s Tommaso and Karina Ortiz’ Amaia) nestled inside a building,...

The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 2
Making New York City the setting for The Walking Dead: Dead City is nothing if not a bold move. It’s such a familiar environment for anyone who watches movies or television; you might have never been to the five boroughs, but New York is one of the most iconic pop culture locations in media history. As such, there’s a lot of baggage to be brought along for the ride, but Dead City‘s first real look into The Walking Dead‘s version of the Big Apple seems to take that into account.
There have already been rats and roaches aplenty, thanks to New York City’s signature giant piles of garbage bags. There are also construction scaffolds and tall buildings aplenty. But it’s out first meeting with Tommaso (Jonathan Higginbotham) and Amaia...

It's safe to say that The Walking Dead: Dead City is one of the best shows of the year.
We saw shades of the old Negan in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 2 as he gave Maggie some much-needed food for thought about his time as the leader of the Saviors.
The good news is that the show successfully fleshes out Negan's past in a way that gives viewers some answers about his machinations while in this position of power.
Many will struggle with him saying he only kept his position because he was a monster when he needed to be.
The reception to Negan has been split down the middle ever since his arrival on The Walking Dead Season 6, thanks mainly to him making his presence felt by murdering Glenn and Abraham.
It was a turning point for the series and also a point where many fans drew the line and stopped watching.

AMC's The Walking Dead universe has been expanding quickly in recent years.
With the conclusion of the main series in 2022 after 11 seasons, many fans desired to continue the journeys of their favorite characters.
There were many reservations when Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) were announced to be headlining The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Maggie and Negan's story ended bittersweetly as they both agreed to co-exist.
As a result, The Walking: Dead City's existence would probably kickstart one of the most polarizing alliances on TV.
Thankfully, The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 delivers a compelling tale that ushers in an exciting next chapter for The Walking Dead franchise.
All six episodes were provided for critics, highlighting AMC's confidence that fans will connect with this next chapter.
The series picks up several years after The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 24, with Maggie on a quest to New York City to locate her son.

Are you ready to experience the apocalypse from New York City?
AMC went public with the official trailer on Thursday for the new spinoff, and it looks like a nice change of pace.
The teaser trailer that premiered earlier this month hinted at the fraught relationship between Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Maggie is in New York on a mission to save her son, and it's sure to be a dramatic experience.
The trailer teases the people they'll encounter, and let's just say the new spinoff is making full use of the new setting.
"Dead City follows Maggie and Negan traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland," the logline teases.
"The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror."

The hatred between Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) runs deep.
That much we learned throughout their arc on The Walking Dead.
After making peace with one another at the end of The Walking Dead Season 11, it seems the pair are more at odds than ever, a couple of years on from their parting of ways.

The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.
Maggie's journey to New York finds her searching for her son, Hershel, but the status of her relationship with Negan remains up in the air.
It's hard to imagine them ever being true friends, but it wouldn't be surprising if they joined forces for this mission to save Hershel.
