There’s controversy and then there’s comic book movie controversy. While usually its concerning something more lighthearted like the internet losing their minds over some kind casting decision, we sometimes get the darker stuff. Like “shifting an entire studio’s heirarchy” level of craziness. From reported verbal abuse to alleged threatening of careers to a miserable Ben Affleck, there’s a lot of bad that came from Warner’s 2017 film. So today on DC Revisited, we’re diving into the moustache removing and tone lightening of Joss Whedon’s Justice League.
If you think other films in the DC lineup have had controversy then you haven’t seen anything yet because the stuff that goes on here is absolutely nuts. But I should state outright: we’ll deal with the Snyder Cut and all of that surrounded that in a future video. For now, we’ll just focus on the original filming period,...

James Gunn joined Threads and is clearing up some rumors about the fate of Doom Patrol. The DC show is set to conclude with Season 4 but only half of the season has aired which had some fans concerned about the future of the series.
The DC co-head shared that he’s “neck deep in Superman & Creature Commandos” and wasn’t “focused on day-to-day TV scheduling” when a fan inquired about the remaining episodes of Doom Patrol.
“I can’t imagine a world where completed episodes are not going to be released,” he added.
With all the changes that the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming services have experienced in the past years, some fans questioned if the remaining episodes would ever be made available on Max.
Hours later, Gunn returned to post an update and “confirmation.”

We’re back for a review of Justice League #4. Let’s dive right in, shall we?
Review:
We return right where we left off last issue. Victor Stone’s armor has fully integrated with his body, and just in time as Darkseid’s parademons are about to kill his dad and the remaining S.T.A.R. Labs staff. Since Victor has no clue what’s going on, his armor reacts defensively with its crazy weaponry and murderizes his attackers. When things quiet down a bit, Silas Stone explains to his son what exactly happened and why half of his body is now made of military-grade cybernetics. To say that Victor is not happy with all his new situation is an understatement. So naturally, he runs off in a flurry of teenage angst.
And along the way, he runs into more parademons. Only this time, Victor’s cybernetic armor...

We’re back for issue #3 of DC’s new 52 Justice League series! And as the cover states, we meet Wonder Woman. Nice!
Review:
The book starts off introducing the readers to Wonder Woman, who from what it seems like has newly arrived from Paradise Island. Here she appears to be an envoy for the Amazons living in Washington DC, possibly positioning herself as DC’s patron hero! It seems that while Diana is still a warrior born and bred, she has lived a very sheltered life on Paradise Island and doesn't fully get the anti-superhero sentiment around her. Plus, she is always looking for villains to fight.
Steve Trevor is her Pentagon liaison in the thankless position of trying to keep her in line, especially given the anti-hero fervor.
And of course, around the same time, parademons are popping up through boom tubes all over the world, which leads us back to Superman,...

Three months ago, DC Comics erupted as the center of attention in the comic book world with the launch of its 52-title reboot.
Offering a fresh start designed to entice both new and longtime readers, the publisher boldly hit the reset button on over 75 years of continuity.
Promising to maintain the core essence of the major characters while cleaning up past attempts to re-align its universal history, DC's risky endeavor to recapture the reader has so far been met with financial success.
But what about the books themselves? Did the publishing giant make good on its word to deliver a starting point for an untapped fan base? Will seasoned readers get content making it worth sitting through 52 origin stories? Let's find out.
First on the shelves was the flagship franchise Justice League. Set a bit before the other fifty titles - Action Comics is the other book out of the main timeline,...

Hey Tyrants!
After an almost two months, we finally get Justice League #2. Was it worth the unnecessarily long wait? Let’s take a look.
Quick 'n' Dirty Review:
So we start several minutes after we last left off In Justice League #1. Batman has tried literally everything in his arsenal against Superman, with no effect obviously. Green Lantern intervenes, but even with his power ring, any attack only momentarily stuns Superman.
This Superman is much more of a hothead than in the Pre-Flashpoint universe and is not as careful when it comes to pulling his punches. So Green Lantern calls in reinforcements, as in his buddy the Flash, reluctant to get involved as the Flash is getting bunched in with all the other superheroes as a public menace.
Its only Green Lantern asserting that Superman will kill him and Batman (the mention of which gets a funny reaction) that Flash finally intervenes.

Justice League #1 is to be given a fourth printing, DC Comics has revealed. The publisher's flagship relaunch title will return from the printers bearing a modified version of David Finch's design. Finch's latest variant features the team members, with Cyborg added to the lineup, against a crimson red background. The artist's previous design was identical aside from a different colour scheme and the absence of Victor Stone. DC Comics also announced that all 12 of this week's 'New 52' titles have sold out at distribution level. Comics debuting this week include Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern Corps. (more)...

Hey Tyrants!
This is my first article for GeekTyrant and I’m excited to join the team.
Last week kicked off DC Comic’s highly controversial ‘New 52’ aka Post-Flashpoint retcon with the release of Justice League #1. Now like many, I was crying foul over the whole ‘Marvel-izing’ of DC. Do all the women in DC really need to be wearing pants? Why is Barbara Gordon becoming Batgirl again when she had so transcended the character as Oracle? How does it make Superman hip to have his marriage to Lois erased? That last one was giving my ‘One More Day/Brand New Day’ flashbacks. To this day I have not picked up a single Spiderman comic. But anyhow…
I’m always willing to try something once, and some of DC’s updates intrigued me. So here are my thoughts:
Warning: Spoilers below. Read at your own risk!

Who is Cyborg? Cyborg, is Victor Stone. Due to a tragic accident his body was crushed and the only way for him to survive was to meld himself with an experimental technology; his body parts have been replaced with a large arsenal of high-tech gadgets and weaponry, while constantly providing him life support. Stone struggles with his humanity as a machine, his advancements have made him an unstoppable powerhouse. He adopted the name Cyborg, half man, half machine but all hero. Cyborg was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, first appearing in DC Comics Presents #26. (1980) Origin Victor Stone is the son of two brilliant scientists intent on improving mankind, but lacks parental values. They use Victor as a test subject for intelligence-boosting experimentation. It’s going to be a little over a month until the next episode of Smallville, and after they left us with such a great episode cliffhanger, I thought it only prudent to curb my addiction by looking back at the last nine seasons and sort through, and try to find out just what were the best episodes of this re-telling of Superman’s origin. It is a bit of a daunting task, because not every episode is gold, but when this show is on form, it’s fantastic.

Jonathan advises against it, and tells Clark to save his money for something he actually needs, but since all the other kids are getting one, he has to have one too. Welcome back to our DC Entertainment and everything DC column, The Daily Planet. Over the course of six weeks, we have begun a journey to use this column and chronicle the unprecedented 10 year journey that is the Smallville series, ranging from thoughts on best and worst episodes, favorite moments, best characters, and an overall retrospective of each season of the Superman series.
A Legacy Embraced…
I am finally able to continue my chronicles of Smallville this week, edging closer to our preview of the Final Season of the long running Superman series, which will premiere next Friday at September 24, 2010 on the CW. My last Chronicle article praised the risky, ancs driven Season 3 while focusing on my dismay for such an awful, effortless plotline in Season 4. Usually after that there is a sign in a series to quit while your ahead but the writers proved me wrong with the next two seasons of the series.
