Jackass alum Steve-o had to turn down an opportunity to appear on Bill Maher’s podcast Club Random due to a strange reason. The controversial host of Real Time with Bill Maher couldn’t allegedly give up his habit of smoking pot for his potential interview with Steve-o. The entertainer has been sober for 16 years and placed the condition with the host, who refused to agree to it.

Maher started the Club Random podcast in 2022 and he often smoked pot during his interview with celebrity guests. However, he had respected his guest’s wishes in the past and did not touch the pot during some interviews, like the one with Sheryl Crow.

On the latest episode of his podcast Wild Ride!, Steve-o said he turned down appearing on Bill Maher’s podcast because the Club Random host refused to not smoke weed during their chat.
Steve-o — whose real name is Stephen Glover — asked conservative commentator Patrick Bet-David, who appeared on Club Random recently, about his experience with Maher, particularly about how he felt about the TV personality smoking weed in the room.
While Bet-David didn’t appear to have an issue with it, Glover noted that he brought it up because Maher didn’t respect his wishes as a former addict to have a sober environment.
“For me, I’m a clean and sober guy. It’s very important that I maintain my sobriety,” said Glover. “I’m about to be sweet 16 [years sober], coming up on it. Really, there’s nothing I value more than my sobriety. There’s nothing more that I protect than my recovery.

Bam Margera may be moving out of his jackass phase, posting videos this week that showed he still has chops on the skateboard. At 44 and with far too many years of substance abuse to his name, Margera may not move as quickly as he once did, but it is awesome to see he can still work the deck.
Bam Margera posted two videos on Instagram this week, continuing a steady run of clips that have given fans promising updates on his health, both physically and mentally. And his followers have been extremely supportive, saying the videos remind them of Margera’s better days. Check out Margera’s moves below:

Hot Ones has brought back its holiday-season charity drive for the third consecutive December. The YouTube interview series hosted by Sean Evans has uploaded its latest Holiday Extravaganza in support of Common Threads.
The Hot Ones Holiday Extravaganza is a 40-minute revue filled with games, interviews, and guest appearances. The fundraiser has become an annual tradition on the First We Feast channel. Last year, the BuzzFeed-owned hub set a $150,000 goal for its Common Threads campaign. At the time of this post, the 2023 Holiday Extravaganza has raised more than $17,000 toward its charitable mission.
Segments in the Holiday Extravaganza include a game of Would You Rather, the annual Hot Ones Awards, and a cooking show hosted by Esther Choi and Chili Klaus. Choi, a chef and restaurateur, launched her own First We Feast show earlier this year.

Hi, I'm (not) Johnny Knoxville, and welcome to (an article about) "Jackass"!
Somehow, over 20 years after the boundary-pushing reality stunt comedy series that launched Knoxville's career debuted on that dusty relic known as MTV, "Jackass" is still going. And not just the franchise; Knoxville and much of his original crew have continued to actively throw themselves into harm's way to entertain the masses. In fact, "Jackass Forever" emerged as one of the saviors of the 2022 box office, keeping the art of the R-rated guffawfest alive in typical topsy-turvy "Jackass" fashion. It's not just creaky Gen-Xers and Millennials like myself; even today's youths agree, the dudes rock.
With Knoxville and his boys now in their 40s and 50s, though, it begs the question: Exactly how much longer can they keep poking death and severe physical injury in the eye, and walk away laughing? At this stage, the "Jackass" crew seems to...

The "Jackass" franchise is a wild ride that started with a late-night MTV series but has become a full-fledged force of nature in its own right, and a crucial part of that magnificent maelstrom is Steve-o, born Steven Glover. It's almost impossible to define the charismatic performer — he's one part circus clown, one part stuntman, one part comedian, and his unique brand of entertaining helps make this franchise what it is. He has done some disgusting and terrifying things in the name of making all of us laugh, and in his new unrated multimedia comedy special, "Steve-o's Bucket List," he's allegedly going even wilder than he did on "Jackass," which should really be something. But what about the "Jackass" franchise? Is there a film that he feels is the pinnacle, or do they just continue to improve upon the previous incarnation?

It's hard to imagine that there's any stunt the "Jackass" guys won't try. This is a group of friends who have eaten the most disgusting things imaginable, tortured their bodies, committed psychological terrorism on one another, doused themselves in all numbers of bodily (both human and animal) fluids, and often end up hospitalized in the process, all in the name of committing to the bit. That isn't to say that there isn't some corporate red tape that gets in the way of their shenanigans. Ahead of the release of "Jackass Forever," it was revealed that a handful of stunts including getting hit by a car, taking a live bullet while wearing a bulletproof vest, and rolling down the stairs in a cardboard box set with pillows were all denied by Standards and Practices.

Pranks. Pain. Penises.
These three words arguably encompass just about any of the stunts pulled by the "Jackass" crew, and when it comes to Steve-o, often all three at once. For the last two decades, Steve-o (real name Stephen Gilchrist Glover) has been putting his life and body on the line not just for all of our entertainment, but as a wild form of therapy.
On its face, the "Jackass" franchise seems like nothing more than grown men acting like immature fools, but as /Film's own Valerie Ettenhofer rightfully pointed out after watching the franchise for the very first time, "These movies are precisely designed to push the limits of cinema, of good taste, and of the human body." Ettenhofer also declared Steve-o the most fascinating of the bunch to watch, writing:

The Jackass brand has been all over the place since the late 90s, with the fourth entry even coming to theaters last year. And one of the standouts is always Steve O. The terrible things he’s willing to put his body through are often the stuff of legend. And he’s managed to create himself a nice little place on the internet where he interviews various celebrities. Yet his desire to do these insane stunts has never stopped and so he’s taken things into his own hands. And because this isn’t a big Hollywood production, he’s able to get away with a lot. In fact, one of my most common phrases uttered during this special was: “I can’t believe he’s doing this to himself.”
The special itself is something that only the biggest Jackass/Steve O fans will be able to endure. While Steve...

Warning: This interview is not for the squeamish.
If you've ever watched a "Jackass" movie or episode, Steve-o explodes off the screen as a man who enjoys his life. Why, then, does he seem so hellbent on jeopardizing it?
With the possible exception of Johnny Knoxville, no member of the daredevil troupe has performed gnarlier stunts than Steve-o. Over the years, we've seen him shimmy across a tightrope over an alligator pool with a raw chicken dangling from his underwear, wear a Peruvian jellyfish as a sombrero, and sustain repeated genital trauma via all kinds of inventively stupid methods. On the serious side, he battled drug addiction for over a decade before getting completely sober in 2008.
You might think clear-headedness would instill a strong sense of self-preservation in Steve-o, but subjecting his body to all manner of punishment and indignity is what he lives for. Indeed, when the Jackass boys are on a break,...

Pop star Britney Spears has been back in the public eye ever since the abuse she's suffered from both her management team and her family came to light, resulting in the termination of her conservatorship in 2021 after 14 years. Her new memoir, "The Woman in Me," (published this past October by Simon & Schuster) has put the spotlight on her once again; the New York Times bestseller list doesn't lie.
While "Saturday Night Live" hasn't had Spears on as a guest host yet, the latest episode, did have a sketch highlighting the book. "The Woman in Me: Auditions" features Britney revealing some interesting details about how the memoir's audiobook was produced. As the sketch notes, the audiobook of "The Woman in Me" was ultimately read by Michelle Williams. However, Fineman's Britney reveals that plenty of other actors auditioned for the honor of reading her words.

To kick off Saturday Night Live, Timothée Chalamet remixed “Pure Imagination,” the iconic song from 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, to celebrate the 118-day actors strike ending and being able to talk about his film projects again.
During his opening monologue, the actor, who is set to star in the upcoming film Wonka, said he felt lucky to be hosting after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended. The union reached a tentative deal with studios and streamers earlier in the week.

The news that multiple Oscar nominee Michelle Williams was the reader for the audiobook of Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman in Me” was too delightful for “Saturday Night Live” to pass up. In a pre-taped sketch for the Nov. 11 episode hosted by Timothée Chalamet, Chloe Fineman as Spears introduced a cavalcade of celebrities auditioning to be the reader of Britney’s book.
Fineman was everywhere in the sketch: She also played idiosyncratic actress and model Julia Fox, and a manic, borderline illiterate version of Chalamet, while the actor himself played Martin Scorsese (who recently directed Chalamet in a perfume commercial for Blue de Chanel).
Other highlights included Sarah Sherman as comedian John Mulaney, referencing his most recent stand-up special, “Baby J,” about his drug addiction (but in a funny way); Molly Kearney as actor Kevin James, but instead of reading from the memoir, Kearney just recreates the ubiquitous meme of...

Steve-o was detained by police after jumping off the Tower of London Bridge.
The Jackass stuntman performed his most recent feat in London as part of his The Bucket List Tour. Police were waiting to take him into custody after he landed in the River Thames, informing Steve-o that they were concerned his stunt may convince people to jump from the bridge to harm themselves. He was later released.
“I just got out of a cop car…” Steve-o wrote on Threads above a picture of himself holding a UK flag umbrella. “They gave me a real talking to for my ‘Mary Poppins jump’ off the Tower of London Bridge.” He continued, promoting the taping of his Bucket List special on July 14.

Steve-o is revealing why he thinks Jackass Forever “was kind of a bummer,” even though it was a box office hit.
During an interview with NME, published online Friday, the writer-entertainer opened up about the 2022 film, which saw Johnny Knoxville and his crew returning for another round of wild and dangerous stunts and comedy. But it was one of Knoxville’s scenes in the latest film that changed Steve-o’s perspective.
“It’s not fun to watch Knoxville get hit in the head anymore,” he said of the scene that left the stunt performer and actor with a brain injury following an encounter with a bull. “I wrote this text to the whole cast that day, thanking Knoxville for the sacrifices he’s made for this team, and also begging that he stops with the brain trauma. During an appearance on Steve-o’s “Wild Ride!” podcast, Hagar praised his counterpart’s charisma as a “showman,” but said it comes at the expense of Roth’s singing ability and dedication to the craft.

The Masked Singer has been a popular game show in the U.S. since 2019. A spinoff of the South Korean version of the show, The Masked Singer sees celebrities disguised in elaborate costumes as they perform songs in front of an audience and a panel of judges. The judges then have the chance to guess who is behind the masks. Votes determine who moves forward, and the celebrities with the least votes get unmasked.
The judges have correctly guessed celebrities many times. However, there have also been a few contestants who had the panel completely stumped and shocked. Here are the most surprising celebrity reveals on The Masked Singer.

"Who's your favorite artist?" Ask that question enough times, with an edge in your voice and a persistent buzzing in the background, and it's liable to take on a scary quality, as we saw last month in the first teaser trailer for "Swarm." The pantheon of art about parasocial relationships is filled with hits, from Martin Scorcese’s “The King of Comedy” to Stephen King’s “Misery” to Eminem’s iconic hit “Stan,” which inadvertently created a whole new term for obsessive fans. Now, Donald Glover is making his own contribution to that canon with “Swarm,” a horror comedy about the scary world of pop music fandom. The full-length trailer for the upcoming Prime Video series has been released by Amazon.
“Swarm” stars Dominque Fishback, best known for her role in “Judas and the Black Messiah,” as Dre, a young woman who runs a stan account for the world’s biggest pop star, who — similar to Beyoncé’s Beyhive — has a fanbase known as “The Swarm.” Set in between 2016 and 2018, the show sees Dre, lonely and lost, embark on a cross-country trip that causes her to slowly lose her sanity and engage in multiple bloody murders.

Two all new celebrities in disguise took on returning champ Medusa for “Abba Night” on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” After a rowdy rendition of “Sos,” Rock Lobster received the least amount of votes and was forced to reveal himself as comedian and “America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel. Perhaps more shocking than Rock Lobster’s true identity was panelist Ken Jeong‘s ability to guess it. His fellow detectives Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger couldn’t figure it out.

“I never get anything right! I got one!” a dumbfounded Ken Jeong exclaimed at the end of Wednesday’s second episode of “The Masked Singer” Season 9. Magic struck when the notoriously bad guesser correctly named Howie Mandel as the secret celebrity hiding inside the Rock Lobster costume. Ken was the only panelist who got it right; Jennifer McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger both went with Martin Short, while Robin Thicke picked Steve-o.
Ken chose Howie because of two clues in particular: the judge’s gavel (referring to his recurring stint on “America’s Got Talent”) and the hospital scrubs (a reference to his role on “St. Elsewhere”). “This is someone who is a legendary comedian — someone who is one of my influences,” Ken stated emphatically after the red crustacean screeched out “S.O.S.” by Abba while running around the stage as if he was being boiled.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer”
They could dance, they could jive – but sadly, they could not make it past Abba night on “The Masked Singer.” Here’s who went home in Week 2 of the reality competition series on Wednesday night.
Sadly, Rock Lobster was the first to be unmasked Wednesday after singing his heart out to “S.O.S.” As far as clues go, the audience was told that the singer behind the mask was someone who dances “for 15 seconds every day for 10 million people,” a man who “was a weird neurotic mess as a kid” and got expelled from three schools and someone who was “compulsive.” Among the visual clues was Diet coke, a Joker card, and for the celebrity clue, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” all star Shangela brought out a gavel.
With all of those factors, one popular guess from the judges was “Jackass” star Steve-o.

The Jackass series debuted on MTV in 2000, quickly becoming one of the most popular television shows. It followed the antics of a group of friends as they engaged in outrageous stunts, pranks, and dangerous physical challenges. The show cast included Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and Ryan Dunn.
Despite parental and political worries about the show’s potential impact on younger viewers, it quickly skyrocketed in popularity. The SXSW logline for Swarm reads: “Murder. Sex. Music.” The series has been described as revolving around a Beyoncé-like figure.

Steve-o pleaded with Bam Margera to “choose recovery” in the comments of an Instagram post, telling his longtime Jackass collaborator, “You’re dying, brother.”
Steve-o had invited Margera to accompany him on tour, calling Margera the “Britney Spears of Jackass” and frankly telling audiences that he hoped the shows would help Margera clean up his act, per TMZ. Margera finished a one-year substance abuse program in 2022, but afterwards had reportedly struggled to stay sober. According to Steve-0, those struggles continue.
In a since-deleted comment on February 1st, Steve-o wrote, “Bam, last night you had your five-year-old son with you on stage at my show, and you were blessed with the chance to spend another day or two with him — then as soon as you left my show, you stayed up all night getting loaded.”
Steve-o continued, “You say you want to have a relationship with your son, but your actions...

In December, Bam Margera was hospitalized with a serious case of pneumonia. Margera later tested positive for Covid-19 and was put on a ventilator.
“I basically was pronounced dead on Elvis’ birthday, December 8. I did not know that I had gnarly Covid,” Margera told his former Jackass costar Steve-o on his podcast.
He went on to say that he had four seizures with each one lasting 10 to 20 minutes.
On the fourth, Margera bit his tongue so hard that it nearly fell off, causing him to swallow “infected blood.” This resulted in him developing a specific type of pneumonia that occurs when food or liquid is breathed into the lungs instead of being swallowed.

He was subsequently taken to the hospital where he had a fifth seizure that prevented him from being able to breathe without a tube down his throat.

Plot: When a couple of friends find themselves fired from their cleaning job, they decide to make the most of the situation. Upon the discovery they are cleaning the legendary LeBron James’ home, they make a pact to bring the House Party there while the homeowner is away on retreat.
Review: In 1990, Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin (Aka Kid ‘N Play) gave audiences a laugh in House Party. Several less-than-stellar sequels followed up the funny feature. Considering the quality of each installment lessened rapidly, you can’t keep a franchise down. Kid ‘N Play may have been all partied out after the third film, but it didn’t stop the franchise from continuing. We now have the latest, a new take on the original film. And while the storyline here is ridiculous and shouldn’t work, the latest House Party is a fun flick with an abundance of cool cameos.

Following The Film Stage’s collective top 50 films of 2022, as part of our year-end coverage, our contributors are sharing their personal top 10 lists.
2022 was a year where lists were discussed a lot. Sight and Sound released their once-in-a-decade poll, which I unexpectedly and luckily got to participate in. Is the act of list-making frivolous? Some might think so. Others may consider it is absolutely necessary to canon-forming and an indispensable part of the discovery of new cinema. One thing is certain however: the idea of lists to the general public seem to be seen as valuable only in their ability to justify or reinforce already-held opinions. In the internet age of exposure to unsolicited opinions about the arts, the culture has retracted back to needing opinions validated over and over again rather than open to being challenged in the aim of discovering something new. In my lists of recent, very purposefully,...

Bam Margera has revealed that just last December he was pronounced dead, only to live to tell the story. Margera recently sat down for an interview with fellow jackass Steve-o on his podcast “Wild Ride” to discuss his near-death/actual death experience.
“I was pronounced dead on Dec. 8,” Bam Margera said. “I did not know that I had gnarly Covid and my body was shutting down. I went into four seizures, each one lasting 10 to 20 minutes. On the fourth one I bit my tongue so hard it was nearly fallen off. It got so swollen and puffy it wouldn’t fit in my mouth. I was drinking the infected blood which gave me pneumonia as well.” Margera continued in detail, “I went to the hospital and had my fifth seizure and then couldn’t breathe without a tube down my throat. I woke up five days later thinking I was...

Jackass’s Bam Margera revealed he had a close brush with death after experiencing five seizures while suffering from Covid and pneumonia.
Last month, it was reported that the stunt performer and skateboarder had been rushed to hospital with a “very serious” case of pneumonia.
Appearing on fellow Jackass star Steve-o’s Wild Ride podcast on Thursday (5 January), Margera told his friend that “basically, I was pronounced dead on 8 December”.
