Laura Sibley came to film from a strong art background. Her mother, a watercolorist, taught her and her twin sister how to paint early on. From then on Laura was always creating something "big and involved". She received a B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University in Sculpture (the only major that could harness her mixed media curriculum) and a minor in Anthropology. Upon reaching New York City, Laura discovered the independent film scene and broke her teeth as a Camera Assistant on sets for the next few years. Ready for another project, she attended New York University's Summer Intensive Filmmaking Program. Idea in hand she was bent on shooting her first film. She co-wrote, produced, and directed Sabrina Gray, a short film, later that year. Since then Laura has produced, directed, and written numerous other projects. She spent four years studying acting with premiere acting teacher William Esper in order to enhance her directorial skills.
Laura resides and works in New York City. Nick Sandow and her co-wrote an episode for Baseball Wives an upcoming HBO Original series. She is currently serving as Nick Sandow's dramaturge for the final revisions of his feature script False Son.
