Longtime TBS rising star Thom Hinkle has stepped down as head of original content for TBS, TNT and TruTV after less than a year in the top programming post. He will be replaced by Sam Linsky and Adrienne O’Riain who have been promoted to co-head Scripted Originals for the three linear networks. They will report to Brett Weitz, General Manager, TBS, TNT and truTV.
Linsky, SVP of Original Programming, who recently celebrated 25 years with the company, will expand his responsibilities, alongside O’Riain, who has been promoted to SVP. FX has given formal green light to American Horror Stories, a spinoff of Ryan Murphy’s venerable anthology series American Horror Story. It is part of FX’s original programming slate through 2021, unveiled by the network Tuesday, which also includes renewals for Pamela Adlon’s comedy Better Things and New York Times’ documentary series The Weekly as well as a record-breaking Season 15 pickup for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
As teased by Murphy on Instagram this month, American Horror Stories is a weekly hourlong anthology series that will feature a different horror story in each contained episode. The mothership American Horror Story, which launched the current anthology series boom, has been renewed through Season 13.
Like all Hollywood productions during the coronavirus pandemic, filming of the upcoming 10th season of Ahs remains in limbo, with no start date set yet. As a result, it is officially being pushed to 2021.

An “American Horror Story” spinoff series is officially a go at FX.
Just over two weeks after creator Ryan Murphy announced the project, FX has given the greenlight to “American Horror Stories,” a weekly anthology series that will feature a different horror story each episode.
Murphy discussed the new show on a zoom call with some core “Ahs” cast members, and while more details on the series are still sparse, it’s clear that it will likely feature familiar players from the main show.
The original “American Horror Story” is the longest running hour-long series in FX history and was renewed through season 13 earlier this year, however, due to coronavirus production complications, season 10 of “Ahs” has been pushed to 2021. Like “Ahs,” “American Horror Stories” will be produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.

The Matt Damon-led action thriller franchise is getting a prequel TV series called Treadstone. USA Network has ordered a pilot episode and it's being developed by Tim Kring, who created the hit superhero series Heroes.
I like the Bourne film franchise and I've enjoyed all of the films that have come from it. So I'm up for watching a series if it's good! If you couldn't tell by the title, the show will center around the CIA black ops program, Treadstone. Here's what we know so far thanks to THR:
Treadstone explores the origin story and present-day actions of a CIA black ops program known as Treadstone — a covert operation that uses behavior modification protocol to turn its agents into nearly unstoppable superhuman assassins. The series follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously "awakened" to resume their deadly missions.
This seriously sounds like it could be a great thrilling series!

The Denis Leary-produced hockey comedy “Benders” has been ordered to series at IFC, the network announced Tuesday. The show follows several friends bound by an irrational obsession for their beer-swilling amateur hockey league. Their skills may be limited but their passion is not, as evidenced by the chaos hockey creates in their everyday lives. This isn’t fast-paced, brawler-style hockey; it’s the slow motion, falling-down version. IFC has ordered eight half-hour episodes that will be produced by Apostle, with Jim Serpico, Tom Sellitti and Denis Leary serving as executive producers. Serpico and Sellitti created and will write the series.

Fans of Rescue Me, and/or Denis Leary, have something to be happy about as FX orders a new series, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, from the comedian.
This one is quite a different effort from the surprisingly dramatic Rescue Me, but looks as though it is going to mix a lot of elements. Leary is likely just the guy who can deliver an aging, washed out musician who barely had a career in the first place, and is now trying to make something happen for himself. That’s especially true if this is angling for a comedy that can also deliver some weightier moments, which looks to be the case.
Catch all the info below, and let me know what you think. Will you be tuning in?

Marc Maron has been a comedian for 25 years. He’s had his problems. He was an angry, drunk, self involved, twice divorced compulsive mess for most of his adult life, but with the popularity of a podcast he does in his garage and a life of sobriety, his life and career are turning around. Maron explores a fictionalized version of Marc’s life, his relationships, and his career, including his incredibly popular Wtf podcast, which features conversations Marc conducts with celebrities and fellow comedians. Neurosis intact, Maron is uniquely fascinating, absolutely compelling and brutally funny.
