When a bunch of staff at a film studio start to buy up books about a particular character, it tends to mean something. That's especially true when we're talking about an obscure comic book character, because what else would explain the character's sudden spike in popularity at the office? Such is the case with Marvel's Nightwatch.
The character, created by Terry Kavanagh and Alex Saviuk in 1992, had a limited run of solo books but was mainly used as a somewhat prominent figure within one of Spider-Man's most famous storylines: "Maximum Carnage."
According to Bleeding Cool, Nightwatch has suddenly become a major topic of conversation over at Sony, and it's got people asking a few key questions:
Will he show up in the Sony/Marvel co-venture Spider-Man: Homecoming? Will he show up in the much talked-about Venom spinoff movie? Are Sony/Marvel going to plant the seeds for Maximum Carnage in Homecoming?...
