- Shepherd Sanders was born on December 31, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was an actor, known for Kelly's Heroes (1970), Rocky II (1979) and The Baltimore Bullet (1980). He died on September 14, 2016 in Palm Springs, California, USA.
- Used the money from his G.I. Bill to move to Los Angeles and begin his acting career. Due to the blacklist during the McCarthy Era he had to change his name from Sherwin Seltzer to Shepard Sanders.
- Forged his birth certificate at the age of fifteen so he could join the Navy during WW2.
