- Joe Roth was one of the top stunt performers in the industry, having worked with Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage, and Arnold Schwartzenegger to name a few. He is also a talented actor having appeared in many films and television shows. He has produced many award-winning films, among them Hatchi-Ko, Eye of the Dolphin, and Beneath the Blue. He also produced the documentaries, The Dolphin Chronicles, and Muscle Beach Then and Now.
Born in San Francisco California, he is of Austrian, French, and Cherokee Indian descent.
In France he competed with the Federation Francais de Karate et Arts Martiaux Affinitaires, throughout the Loire Valley. Upon his return to the United States, in the late 1980s he became a stunt performer and fight scene double in many films.
He also appeared as an actor in the television series Star Trek the Next Generation, and had a recurring role on the hit television drama China Beach, as well as appearing in the blockbuster thriller Die Hard 2.
He now produces family films, many with animal themes. He is an active member of PETA and is a MENSA member.
