It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
Below, a final goodbye to the 90s to end the nostalgia once and for all. (We're not kidding. There are 1990 items below.)

Just last month, we were excited to learn that industrial rock icon Trent Reznor will be re-assembling his legendary band Nine Inch Nails with an all-new lineup and a tour kicking off this summer. But that's not the only Trent event this year: this week, the experimental band How to Destroy Angels – a project Reznor founded with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, his fellow Golden Globe-winning composer Atticus Ross, and acclaimed visual artist Rob Sheridan – finally released their long-awaited full length album debut. After teasing us for two years with singles, EPs (the first self-titled release in 2010, followed by An Omen last fall) and some beautifully spooky music videos, they've made good on the ominous promise of those earlier experiments with a truly monolithic record that is equal parts ambient experimentation (in the vein of Nin's epic 1999 album The Fragile or their instrumental collection Ghosts I-iv) and dark, sultry electro-pop. While...

Founded in 2010 by multi-award-winning electronic rock legend Trent Reznor after the breakup (for the time being) of his iconic band Nine Inch Nails, How To Destroy Angels began as a three-piece unit, with Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig fronting the band on vocals, with instrumental duties divided up among all band members, including long-time creative collaborator Atticus Ross – who collected a Golden Globe award along with Reznor for the stunning score to David Fincher's film The Social Network. Since Htda's hauntingly sexy self-titled debut Ep dropped in 2010 (check out our review here), their bloody, surreal promo clip for “The Space in Between” made FEARnet's list for creepiest music video of that year, their cover of Bryan Ferry's “Is Your Love Strong Enough” (from Ridley Scott's epic film Legend) was heard in the Hollywood remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the second film Reznor and Ross scored...

In the geological record, the further down we dig, the further we go into the past, which means that deposits are continually being laid down on the planet's surface (presumably a combination of volcanic material and cosmic debris). Is the Earth getting bigger?
The Earth is not getting bigger. Deposition (of sediments, mostly marine) and weathering (erosion) are in approximate equilibrium. Most weathering occurs on land while most deposition occurs in the seas, resulting in a net accumulation of marine sediment. However, some sediments are subducted beneath continental crust at the edges of some oceans and recycled back into igneous rocks spewed from volcanoes. Also, both oceanic and terrestrial crust go through cycles of up– and down–thrust, periodically rising above and below sea level. The bed of today's North Sea is flooded continental crust,...

Even though his most famous onscreen character remains as puerile as possible — sure, Stifler's got a desk job, but that won't stop him from pooping in someone's beer cooler — Seann William Scott has confirmed that he's tying the knot.
The genial actor, who won us over with his recent turn in the hockey flick "Goon," is getting hitched to model Lindsay Frimodt.
Sean William Scott told E! Online at the "American Reunion" premiere that he doesn't "know how I got a girl like my fiancée." Surely it wasn't with any of the "S**t Stifler Says," right?
In any case, the 35-year-old is on a roll after a few off years, despite being the funniest thing in "Cop Out." (And let us never, ever forget "Role Models," with man crush for the ages Paul Rudd.)
Critics and hockey fans alike have been stomping for "Goon," which is currently on demand and in theaters.

With only two acting credits prior to "True Grit," Hailee Steinfeld emerged from out of left field to score a Best Supporting Actress nomination at this year's Academy Awards for her role in the Coen Brothers-directed Western as Mattie Ross, a resourceful and tough-as-nails youth seeking vengeance on the man who killed her father.
Although she ultimately lost the award to Melissa Leo, the nomination was a victory all by itself. By all accounts, we see great things for Hailee Steinfeld's post-Oscar nominated career -- especially if she lands the lead role in "The Hunger Games," which is a very real possibility based on her meeting with director Gary Ross.
But Steinfeld's continued success isn't a certainty; indeed, not every young actor in Hollywood to secure attention from the Academy has gone on to greatness. After the jump, take a look at some other recent Young...

Pixar tentpole "Brave" has been given a release date of June 15, 2012, and there will be another "Monsters, Inc.," scheduled for the 2012 holiday season, precisely Nov. 16.
Those were two of the news items off a wide-ranging discussion and presentation Thursday by new Disney film chieftain Rich Ross.
After unveiling trailers for a number of upcoming titles -- including Jerry Bruckheimer's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and the female-skewing "Secretariat," with Diane Lane as the horse's determined owner -- Ross unveiled the first three movies he's greenlighting: "Pirates of the Caribbean 4," and "The Muppets" in 2011 and the teen-targeted "Prom" in 2012.
The first is the company's most successful global franchise and hence a no-brainer, the second will introduce a new Muppet named Walter, and the third will be "smart and authentic" a la what John Hughes used to do.
