American Cinema Editors’ annual EditFest La program kicked off with a session focused on non-scripted TV -- what moderator Jason Rosenfield (Law & Order: Crime & Punishment) reported has been the fastest growing genre in TV for the past decade, now constituting roughly 25 percent of primetime. Speaking Saturday at Disney’s Frank G. Wells Theatre, the panelists represented two types of non-scripted programming: competition and character-driven series.
