Much like various and sundry characters from The Addams Family, the Cramps rose from the grave this week and onto the charts. After an episode of Netflix’s Wednesday featured the band’s 1981 version of the 1962 Ronnie Cook and the Gaylads single “Goo Goo Muck,” Billboard reports that by this past Monday, the song was up to 134,000 daily streams.

When I first heard about Batman Ninja my first thought was, what the heck?! Then I watched the trailer and I was like, What The Heck?! It looks awesome. Batman being sent back in time to medieval Japan is a really weird idea, but it looks like a good old-fashioned anime set in medieval Japan. The characters look awesome from what we’ve seen and the team behind it is impressive. We still don’t know how Batman gets to Japan or why, but we have a pretty good idea of who will be joining in on the adventure.
In the official poster for the film, we get a good look at the heroes and villains that will be telling the story. On the villain’s side, we have Penguin, Gorilla Grodd (interesting choice in my opinion), Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and of course, the Joker. In the other corner,...

I’ve long had a soft spot for stories that transplant Batman to different times. The best is probably Gotham By Gaslight, which imagines a Victorian Batman tangling with Jack the Ripper, but I also have a huge soft spot for Grant Morrison’s time-hopping miniseries Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne, in which we see Caveman Batman, Witchhunter Batman, Pirate Batman, Cowboy Batman and 30s Gumshoe Batman. So, I’m naturally over the moon with this new trailer for Batman Ninja.
First announced at the New York Comic-Con, the project is the brainchild of DC and a number of anime and manga superstars. Namely, Junpei Mizusaki (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), Takashi Okazashi (Afro Samurai), and Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann).
From what I can tell from the trailer, the movie opens with Batman and the Joker engaged in a typically tense battle to the death, only to find themselves hurled back to medieval Japan.

Black Canary was cool. Batman: The Animated Series (Btas) is the definitive Batman in my book. Put the two together and you’ve got amazing potential. Paul Dini, one of the writers for Btas, talked about this with Cbr recently mentioning that the reason Black Canary wasn’t introduced was to feature Robin in more episodes. Dini states:
.Yeah, the Black Canary/Catwoman episode was a casualty. They [Fox] wanted more Robin in the series, and each time we wanted to drop him from a story, we had to fight for it. Not that we had anything against Robin, we just wanted to stretch now and then and do solo Batman stories or episodes that focused mainly on Gordon or the villains. After the experimentation of the first season, the network felt we might be leaving the boys behind, so we got the edict, add more Robin. Other than that, there...

DC's upcoming streaming service will be the home for a Harley Quinn animated series...
Warner Bros. is developing a Harley Quinn animated series for its upcoming DC Entertainment-themed streaming service. Harley's star continues to rise as a character, and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was a major factor in the success of the Suicide Squad movie. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. wants to see if they can convince her to voice Harley in animated form, as well.
The good news is that Harley Quinn is, of course, perfect for animation. She made her debut on Batman: The Animated Series, and her antics on the page and screen are akin to a supervillainous Bugs Bunny at times. The other news is that it comes from the executive producers behind last year's NBC short-lived DC superhero comedy, Powerless, Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. If you're a fan of Harley Quinn, I've got some awesome news to share with you! DC Entertainment has announced that they will be developing an adult-oriented action-comedy series based on the character!
According to THR, the series is being developed by the team that developed the fantastically fun DC series Powerless that ended up being canceled. That creative team consists of Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.
The first season will consist of 26 half-hour episodes and Margot Robbie will be asked to voice the character in the series. As of right now, we don't know if she'll end up doing it or not, but it'd be cool if she did. Thanks to the report, we also have the following details on what the series will entail:
The animated series will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains — old and new — from the DC universe.

Well, this was unexpected.
Deadline is reporting tonight that Harley Quinn, who’s already getting her own spinoff movie, is now in line to receive her very own animated TV series, too. Warner Bros. has ordered 26 episodes of a “half-hour adult animated action comedy” show from Powerless producers Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey via Warner Bros. Animation.
Margot Robbie is said to be on the top of the studio’s list for who they want to voice the character and while they are expected to make her an offer, there’s no telling if the hugely in demand actress will sign on. There’s also no word yet on who else Warner Bros. has their eye on, but what we can tell you is that the series will feature Poison Ivy and several other DC heroes/villains and will premiere on the company’s new digital platform, where...

Justice League features enough easter eggs to DC lore to fill the Batcave, and we’ve already pointed out a few of the best. But there’s one that’s seemingly slipped by most fans: a potential nod to Batman’s femme fatale (and fiancee, in current comic books), Catwoman.
At the end of the movie, part of a montage shows that Diana has finally stepped into the light as Wonder Woman, as she’s seen foiling a robbery at a museum. In the background of the scene, we can see a sophisticated-looking lady being arrested for the crime. One eagle-eyed fan on Reddit, username Tsarita, has theorized that this could be Selina Kyle, saying the following about it:

Spoilers below for Justice League.
Despite, uh, less than superreviews for Justice League, the DC Universe is barreling forward, it seems, if the two -- yes, two -- post-credit scenes are any indication. (Y'know, in addition to all the seeds planted in the actual movie for Queen Atlanna, Darkseid and Green Lantern Corps.)
While the DC brain trust has tended away from adding tags on the movies -- "'I don't know, can I do that?' Because Marvel does that," Zack Snyder once said -- Justice League isn't the first film to come with bonus scenes. But while the stinger attached to Suicide Squad was mostly just puzzling, there's quite a bit to speculate over here.

Mid-Credits Scene: The scene itself doesn't require much explaining: Barry Allen aka The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Superman (Henry Cavill) meet in some remote location to race. "It's not like a competition, you know," Barry...

It's happened again! Gotham has replaced Poison Ivy with another actress. This is the second time this has been done on the show with the same role.
It was announced that Peyton List, who recently played a super-villain on The Flash, will be playing the role of Poison Ivy for the new season replacing the current Poison Ivy, Maggie Geha. I along with many people are confused by this choice.
According to Fox, the girl who would become Poison Ivy, Ivy Pepper, got into another potion and aged up some more. Apparently, Maggie Geha was only supposed to be 19, and now the potion will turn Maggie into Peyton List, who is an adult. It is supposed to be part of Poison Ivy's character arc as she is now more womanly and, I don't know, evil? Some people are all for this. I don't know any of those people, but statistically,...

When Batman: The Brave and the Bold debuted on Cartoon Network back in 2008, many fans were understandably hesitant when it came to seeing a lighter take on the Caped Crusader than had been witnessed in animation for some time. But lo and behold, said animated series found much success throughout the course of its three seasons by retaining the tongue-in-cheek nature of the TV show starring Adam West and utilizing the vastness of the DC Universe in a way similar to Justice League Unlimited. Really, it’s no wonder why some felt it rivaled Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond in terms of quality.

Right now, it looks like Poison Ivy is quickly becoming Gotham‘s equivalent of James Bond insofar that she’s being continuously recast. As you should remember, Clare Foley played a much younger version of the character – Ivy Pepper – beginning with the pilot episode, before being aged up via sci-fi means at the start of season 3. And with that passing of the torch came Maggie Geha, who’s done a fine job in the time since.
Geha, who was billed as a series regular for the duration of season 3, actually ended up being criminally underused and has since been demoted to “guest star” in season 4. Now, the latest word to come down says that she’s unfortunately out, and that Peyton List is in.

From Haley Bennett to Game of Thrones mainstay Lena Headey, Warner’s Gotham City Sirens spinoff movie has purportedly piqued the curiosity of countless big-name actresses. And we’re now learning that Eiza González is the latest star to be thrown into the mix.
Best known for her scene-stealing performance as Darling in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, González has been tipped to play Catwoman for Warner Bros. and David Ayer, after a handful of DC fans noticed that the director is now following González on Twitter. Hardly what one would call a sure-fire confirmation, but it’s also worth mentioning that DC Films head Geoff Johns also follows the actress via social media.
Adding fuel to the fire, Eiza González recently shared photos of her dressed in black catsuits – photos that came bearing the caption, “the uniform lately,” so take from that what you will. Another thing worth mentioning...

The Batman vs. Two-Face animated movie nearly invited Poison Ivy to the special guest batvillain party.
Warner Bros. has been fulfilling longtime Batman fan dreams for the last year. After first reuniting Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar for Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders, they immediately revealed the news that they'd be bringing one of the greatest Batman villains to never appear on the original TV series to the screen, with this year's Batman vs. Two-Face. Not only that, they got the legendary William Shatner to voice the dual role of Harvey Dent and Two-Face.
There are a handful of iconic Batman villains of the era who never joined the ranks of Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, or Mr. Freeze on TV. Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy were all around during the era of the Batman TV series, but never made the jump to live action as "special guest batvillains.

Bella Thorne had one rowdy birthday bash on Sunday night!
The Famous in Love star celebrated turning 20 with a costume party, and her getup included a whole lot of body makeup that seemed to replace her wearing a shirt. Thorne appeared to be dressed like Batman villain Poison Ivy with ivy leaves in her hair and attached to her large white platform boots. She sported white skinny jeans and a lime green metallic jacket with no shirt underneath, keeping her coat open to show off her glittery body art.

As much as Harley Quinn is still having a moment off the back of Suicide Squad, the animated feature Batman and Harley Quinn is mostly a wasted opportunity.
The story includes some great elements that are delivered exceptionally well, but the positives are fighting an uphill battle against fart jokes and other inanities. How the combination came together is anyone’s guess, but it renders the whole a frustrating mix that can’t get out of its own way.
Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue (The Floronic Man) have a scheme to save the world from the pollution and general pillaging of humans by mutating everyone into plant hybrids. The theory being that people will then have a more vested interest in keeping the world safe. It isn’t a scheme that makes a lot of sense, but crazy people and druid creatures from other dimensions make their own brand of sense.

Gotham, at its core, has always been about Batman’s proto rogues gallery, with preliminary versions The Riddler, Penguin, Poison Ivy, and The Joker all starting to stretch their villainous wings. With season four potentially changing that in a major way, we wanted to put the focus back onto the villains—with a Gotham…

The latest promo for Gotham‘s upcoming fourth season is here. Building on the exciting teases we’ve already seen, this one features Bruce Wayne dipping his toes into vigilantism for the first time in addition to checking in on the various criminals operating around town, and giving us a glimpse of a new villain who’s set to strike fear into the hearts of the Gotham’s citizens.
The video begins with a reminder about what happened at the end of season 3, with Poison Ivy unveiling the Riddler trapped in a block of ice of Mr Freeze’s making. In the absence of his spurned crush, the Penguin has risen to the top of Gotham’s underworld. Throughout the trailer, we also get glimpses of other familiar foes like Barbara Kean, Ra’s al Ghul and some guy who looks a lot like the Joker.

Gotham is a show that has a lot to live up to. We all know Batman, but to take the focus and push it onto James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) instead, and make Bruce Wayne a lesser character is a brave move. Looking at Gotham: The Complete Third Season, we now have a show that is finding its confidence, but also risking overwhelming the audience in the very busy city of Gotham.
Working as a bounty hunter, Gordon is now tracking down the Indian Hills escapees. With Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel), The Mat Hatter threatening the city with a madness virus, and a shady organisation known as the Court of Owls strengthening their hold over the city, the battle for control of Gotham has never been so volatile.
With the number of super villains coming into their own in season 3, it can sometimes feel hard to keep up. We have...

Warner Animation’s just-released Batman and Harley Quinn is an interesting project from the standpoint of it being a more mature sequel to the Batman: The Animated Series while still fitting into the now cohesive DC Animated Universe. It has the look and feel of the classic series while the content and themes are vastly different in keeping with Harley’s prominence in all-things DC these days along with upping the stakes in a longer production.
That said, the production is very entertaining and a welcome 30th film in the line of animated projects (the DC Universe: 10th Anniversary Collection is expected in November).
It’s a lot of fun to have Bruce Timm, Harley’s co-creator back in action as a co-scriptwriter. Sam Liu is also back to direct so we have a lot of veteran talent to bring tremendous affection to the project and it shows in every detail.

Now that the highly anticipated release of Batman and Harley Quinn is finally upon us, the folks at Warner Bros. are sending out one last reminder to fans in the form of a previously unreleased clip. Having already seen the animated film in its entirety for myself, I can say with certainty this particular excerpt gives potential viewers a good idea of what awaits them.
I’m not going to give away too much because I realize the majority of you reading this have probably yet to get your hands on a copy, but it’s already well known that Batman, Harley Quinn and Nightwing make up the core of this movie. Really, despite the threat posed by Poison Ivy and the Floronic Man looming, you’re going to have to get used to seeing this dysfunctional trio working together.

You know, I really feel like I’m playing devil’s advocate whenever I say something supportive about Gotham. Really, angry fanboys have made it the Roman Reigns of the DC TV family. But despite it taking the basics of the Batman mythos and using them to build something that’s all its own, I’ve really come to enjoy this series as I believe it makes for some rather stellar television. Granted, I can’t speak for where the producers may be headed in the future, but in the meantime, I’m having a ball watching.
Obviously, the backbone of this show is Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and the personal journey he’s embarking on, but I don’t want to discuss him in-depth just yet. Instead, I’ll describe this season in a nutshell before going any further.

Despite Gotham being a radical reinterpretation of the Batman mythos, we all pretty much know how it’s going to end: With Bruce Wayne embracing his destiny as the Dark Knight. With the character currently being around 16 years of age on the prequel series, one would naturally expect it to be quite some time before he takes up cape and cowl. But oddly enough, this iteration aims to own the night much sooner than we’d normally come to expect.
To date, I’ve been one of this show’s loudest advocates, but what we have to present to you today is just downright goofy. Granted, we learned not long ago that Bruce will be taking significant strides toward crusading of the caped variety, but seeing him in a textured motorcycle jacket and a cowl sans bat ears makes him look like he’s on his way to a fetish...
