Watch the latest television movie trailer from Columbia Pictures for the upcoming comedy “Pineapple Express” by director David Gordon Green and starring Seth Rogen (The Green Hornet, Fanboys) and James Franco (Spider-Man 3, Milk) Plot: Lazy stoner Dale Denton has only one reason to visit his equally lazy dealer Saul Silver: to purchase weed, specifically, a rare new strain called Pineapple Express. But when Dale becomes the only witness to a murder by a crooked cop and the city’s most dangerous drug lord, he panics and dumps his roach of Pineapple Express at the scene. Dale now has another reason to visit Saul: to find out if the weed is so rare that it can be traced back to him. And [...]

Not only did my favorite geek Sam Raimi share some fresh new clips from Drag Me to Hell today at Comic-Con, but he mentioned that he would love to make another Evil Dead movie! The unofficial title would be Evil Dead 4, since Army of Darkness is the sequel to Evil Dead II, and Raimi mentions that he's going to work on the script with his brother Ivan Raimi starting next week. This update arrives courtesy of our friends from Geeks of Doom who have been covering Comic-Con all weekend. Since we were out doing interviews with Seth Rogen and David Gordon Green of Pineapple Express, we didn't have a chance to catch any of the footage from Drag Me to Hell, but from what I heard it didn't sound too bad. Raimi explained during Universal's surprise presentation for Drag Me to Hell, his other horror throwback, that he loves working

Sure, seeing the Watchmen footage was pretty cool, but it was basically just a mild extension of the trailer giving it something of a "Scene it" impression. Also, seeing the first bit of footage from Wolverine was pretty cool (details here), but it was just more of the same. Outside of seeing the Very impressive teaser trailer for Tron 2 (details here), the Comic Con panel hosted by Entertainment Weekly with directors Kevin Smith, Judd Apatow, Zack Snyder and Frank Miller was easily the most enjoyable thing I have seen so far. To be 100% honest with you I have no idea what the ultimate goal behind this panel really was. It was called "Visionaries" but it really boiled down to an extended Q&A session beginning with moderated questions and ending with several questions from attendees. It was filled with humor and Kevin Smith's inner fanboy leaked out all over the stage,

I can’t say it often enough, but “Pineapple Express” is definitely the comedy I’m looking forward to the most this summer. Helmed by David Gordon Green and written by the “Superbad” team of Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, this stoner action comedy centers on two guys on the run from a bunch of ruthless criminals.
Check out six brand-new clips from the upcoming movie below. Although most of them are extensions of some of the footage we’ve already seen in the trailer, they’re still hilarious. “Pineapple Express” opens Aug. 6, 2008. Chill out and enjoy!

Perhaps this is payback for a certain animal sex show in Clerks II, but Kevin Smith's upcoming Zack and Miri Make a Porno has been tagged with an Nc-17 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America. The Hollywood Reporter has grabbed the most recent list of rulings by the board, and Smith's film has been given the Nc-17 for "some graphic sexuality."
Now, of course, Kevin Smith talks in graphic terms about sex all the time in his films, so clearly Zack and Miri was already going to be an R-rated experience. But I've seen Lust, Caution and I've seen The Aristocrats, and Zack and Miri had better be a combination of the two to justify the harsh judgment. Cinematical points out that Smith is scheduled to speak Friday night at Comic Con, where he will no doubt discuss the ruling and the status of his film, which

Gotta couple of clips for you from Pineapple Express, which I suspect was the result of some pot smoking and involves some pretty heavy pot smoking.
Seth Rogen and James Franco just want to get high, but they get involved with some bad juju, specifically, Rogen sees a corrupt cop kill somebody. Oops. Soon, the guys are on the run. Judd Apatow-certified hilarity ensues.
The first clip features Danny McBride in addition to Rogen and Franco, and our heroes are, predictably enough, on the run.
And in case you missed it, here's an extended Red Band clip released a few months ago. There's some marijuana in this one, also somewhat predictably.
August will be an interesting month because the two big movies, in my opinion, are both comedies: This and Tropic Thunder (both of which feature McBride, by the way). Each one has a good pedigree, plenty of interest,

Knocked Up star Seth Rogen finds it tough watching TV show Entourage - because his idea for a similar inside-Hollywood expose series was turned down by the same network bosses who greenlighted Mark Wahlberg's project.
Wahlberg's show has become a huge success and Rogen can't understand why HBO bosses didn't pick up on a similar idea he pitched them years before.
The 26-year-old tells Eonline.com, "I just remember feeling really bitter. We thought the stuff we were writing was funny... and it just seemed crazy that no one else liked it.
"You start to question your own sanity. Like, 'Our HBO pilot isn't funny, but Entourage is?'"
Rogen insists the idea he came up with with his Knocked Up co-star Jason Segel would have been a huge hit: "We all used to smoke weed all day instead of working, and we'd just play video games for months on end. But we all really wanted to work and make movies."

There hasn't been any new footage since way back in February when the red band trailer for Pineapple Express first debuted. Now we're a week away from Comic-Con and a few more weeks away from the theatrical release - it's about time we started the buzz again on this comedy! I think James Franco is going to become the new classic stoner character and I can't wait to see him take over Dave Chappelle's spot! And as for Seth Rogen, I'm always up for laughing at his antics in a summer flick - especially one about smokin' weed. If you need a reminder, Pineapple Express is the newest stoner comedy hitting theaters this August. These two TV spots should get you in the mood for it again rather quickly. If there’s one comedy I’m really looking forward to this summer, it’s David Gordon Green’s “Pineapple Express,” which Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg co-wrote. In a nutshell, the flick follows two pot-smoking lazybones (Rogen and James Franco) who are chased down by a bunch of ruthless criminals.
A new TV spot has found its way to the Web today, and it basically uses the same exact footage we’ve already seen in the trailer. Nonetheless, it’s hilarious. The film opens everywhere Aug. 8, 2008. Enjoy the clip below.

Seth Rogen is one of the busiest men in Hollywood right now, and he certainly deserves the success of his career. Clint Morris over at Moviehole.net had the chance to sit down and ask Rogen about some of his upcoming projects.
Here’s a brief look at what Rogen had to say: “The Green Hornet” is ready to head into production as soon as they find a director; “Pineapple Express” may get a sequel; “Superbad” is definitely not getting a sequel; and Kevin Smith's comedy “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” will be promoted at Comic Con.
And here’s a bit of what Rogen told Moviehole about Eric Bana being cast in Judd Apatow’s upcoming comedy “Funny People”:
“There’s a role in the movie for an actor that you normally wouldn’t imagine acting with our crew. We just said ‘What about Eric Bana?

Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen will play the lead characters in a Judd Apatow-produced Sherlock Holmes comedy for Columbia Pictures.
Although plot details have not been revealed yet, Variety reports Etan Cohen (“Tropic Thunder”) is writing the script. Baron Cohen will play master detective Holmes, while Ferrell will jump into the role of his partner Watson.
The film reteams Ferrell and Baron Cohen, who played bitter rivals in Adam McKay’s Talladega Nights,” which Apatow also produced.
Ferrell recently starred in “Semi-Pro” and will next be seen alongside John C. Reilly in McKay’s “Step Brothers.”
Baron Cohen was last seen in “Sweeney Todd” and is currently filming “Bruno,” a mockumentary in the style of “Borat.”
As for Apatow, he’s gearing up for his next directorial effort “Funny People,” which stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Eric Bana and Jonah Hill.
Baron Cohen and Ferrell as Holmes and Watson?

It's too early to tell whether or not the pot smoking stunt at the MTV Movie Awards will backfire against Pineapple Express, the new Judd Apatow-produced comedy from Superbad writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. I rather doubt it will do anything but make people want to see it more.
There are no high school kids around this time, just Rogen and James Franco playing big time fans of the ganga who go on the run when they're seen by some really bad people when Rogen and Franco see something they shouldn't.
There have been a few good pot comedies, which in a way is strange, because to the core audience, it really doesn't need to be all that funny to be effective. The one advantage this has over any other pot comedy I can think of is that it's a big summer movie with lots of money thrown at the marketing.

William Hurt and Amber Heard have boarded Matt Leutwyler’s upcoming coming-of-age drama “The River Why,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on David James Duncan’s 1983 Sierra Club novel, the movie focuses on Gus Orviston (played by Zach Gilford), a young man who embarks on a quest to find an elusive steelhead trout. In fact, his search for the fish is a metaphor for his search for self-knowledge.
Hurt plays Gus’ father, while Heard jumps into the role of his love interest, an adventurous fly-fisher. Leutwyker is directing an adaptation by Thomas A. Cohen and John Jay Osborn Jr.
Heard recently starred in Jeff Wadlow’s action flick “Never Back Down.” She will next be seen alongside Seth Rogen and James Franco in David Gordon Green’s “Pineapple Express.”
Hurt is currently onscreen in Universal’s “The Incredible Hulk.” He recently wrapped principal photography for Julie Delpy’s upcoming drama “The Countess.

Actress Olivia Thirlby is considering boycotting new movie Pineapple Express after she was fired from the film.
The 21-year-old Juno star was dropped from the stoner comedy at the last minute and replaced by Amber Heard - and she's annoyed.
Thirlby says, "I don't know if I'm going to see it. I got cast as Seth Rogen's girlfriend. And I'd been rehearsing with them for a little while and they called me up and were like, 'Actually we're going to re-cast your role.' So I'm minorly, minorly ticked off."

Now, we can't say whether or not comedienne Anna Faris will remove her clothes, but she sure is flirting with that line of work. She's playing an aging Playboy bunny in this summer's House Bunny, a comedy in which she'll probably be scantily clad but that's about it. And now there's finally confirmation that Faris will play porn star Linda Lovelace in an upcoming drama called Inferno.
Now, there's gratuitous nudity and then there's the stuff the heavyweight actresses talk about all the time, the nudity required by the role. If nudity has ever been integral to a story, I think this would be the one.
At various points over the past several years, Courtney Love and Angelina Jolie have been rumored to play Lovelace, although at least one of them was for a different biopic, so in a way, it's hard to believe it has found its way to Faris.
