There's reason to be hopeful about All My Children's move to Hollywood. Oh, yes, Thorsten Kaye has decided not to go -- bye, bye Zach -- but there's a list of stars lining up for the anniversary that's pretty spectacular.
In honor of All My Children's 40th Anniversary, Julia Barr is coming back as Brooke English. Also slated to appear are a bunch of other former AMC stars, including Eva Larue, Taylor Miller, Laurence Lau, Eden Riegel, Leven Rambin and the previously announced Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
Julia's return is a big get because she was such big part of the soap for so long. The two-time Emmy winner was on AMC from 1976 to her exit in 2006. This anniversary show will be a chance for fans to hear what Brooke -- Erica's rival for all those years -- has been up to.
Next in line is Eva Larue. »

We are hours away from A.J. Burnett throwing out the first pitch of Game 2 of the 2009 World Series at Yankee Stadium and the fans are already lining up to get into the stadium. Last night, security was on high alert as First Lady Michelle Obama and Joe Biden, among other famed New York celebrities, chow down on hot dogs while enjoying America's favorite past time. We saw 30 Rock star Alec Bladwin cheering on his hometeam, Matthew McConaughey sporting the pinstripe, movie directors Spike Lee and Steven Spielberg enjoying first class seats. Even all that celebrity power could not help the Yankees overcome the unstoppable Phillies team. The New York Yankees are ready to again take on the Philadelphia Phillies at home in what many are calling the Turnpike Series. In the greater New York Area, Yankee fans are jazzed about the series and much of the hype is all »

Kate Gosselin went from a dowdy, sweatpants-wearing nurse to a Nobu-dining celebrity on a first-name basis with Kelly Ripa; soon-to-be-ex-hubby Jon was a much-pitied, constantly-berated dad, and now a keg-standing, nanny-seducing frat boy no one can stand. How did this couple become the biggest tabloid story of the year, appearing on more than 50 covers since March? Nancy Jo Sales attempts to find out in Vanity Fair . “It became a show that was completely suited to a multi-platform world,” says a TV critic . “You can’t just watch Jon & Kate on television and understand it anymore.” Not to mention, adds... »

With all the tumult at All My Children lately, here's some good news. For the 40th anniversary in January 2010, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will return to All My Children for a visit. On January 4th and 5th, Kelly and Mark will guest on the show, presumably as their AMC characters, Hayley and Mateo.
This will be their first return since leaving in 2002. Both have achieved success away from the show, in primetime on dramas and sitcoms, and especially for Kelly on Live with Regis and Kelly in morning talk. However, they both started on AMC and, in fact, that was where they met, fell in love, got married and lived happily ever after.

James Franco gave an Oscar worthy performance last year in the critically acclaimed film Milk starring Sean Penn. The native Californian is an influential member in Hollywood, but as soon as you have the actor pegged, he goes and does a movie that surprises you. For example, after playing the villain in Spider-Man and before playing the compassionate boyfriend to Harvey Milk in Milk, Franco took on a the role of a stoner. Always shocking audiences, Franco's next move has him checking into General Hospital. Yup, you read yet, Oscar nominee and Nyu Tish student James Franco will be joining the cast of the longtime soap opera General Hospital. Soap Opera's have been the stepping stones to many famous Hollywood actors such as Kelly Ripa, Demi Moore, Brad Pitt, Courtney Cox, and 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin. Rarely have we seen Hollywood actors who demand millions of dollars per film slide back into soap operas. »

Jude Law has slammed reports he has banned journalists from asking him about his new baby daughter, branding the claims "ridiculous".
Model Samantha Burke gave birth to baby Sophia on Tuesday after a brief romance with the actor earlier this year while he was filming Sherlock Holmes in New York.
The Brit star has remained silent about the arrival of his second daughter, and is set to appear on a string of U.S. shows to promote his upcoming stint in Hamlet on Broadway, which starts on 6 October.
Reports allege Law banned Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa from asking probing personal questions on the Live with Regis and Kelly morning programme on Friday.
But Law's spokesperson has hit out at the claims, insisting they are "ridiculous" and telling New York Post's gossip column PageSix: "No subjects are banned."
Law has reportedly asked for a DNA test to prove he is little Sophia's father. »

During the Tuesday, September 22nd "host chat" on "Live! with Regis and Kelly," co-host Regis Philbin shared details about attending the Exploring the Arts Gala, supporting Tony Bennett & Susan Benedetto's Exploring the Arts, Inc. The evening's emcee was Tony winner and Bww favorite Nathan Lane, and Philbin regaled co-host Kelly Ripa and the "Live" audience with how he became the target of much of Lane's humor throughout the evening (using an emcee trick that seasoned public speaker Regis knows all too well). »

If you have hopes of sharing morning coffee with Anderson Cooper by next year, think again. The CNN anchor, 43, told People that there's not truth to rumors he'll be replacing Regis Philbin, 78, on the latter's ABC a.m. show next year. "Regis is the king," Cooper says. "He's not going anywhere!" Cooper, who's occasionally subbed for Philbin alongside Kelly Ripa, said at the New Yorkers for Children Benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday night that even his journalistic skills couldn't sleuth out where the rumors started. "It's completely made up. I have no idea where it came from," he says. »

What kind of a blog host would I be if I didn't share my unusually star-packed weekend story with you? I'd already tweeted about it but there's only so much detail one can pack into 140 character clips with service interruptions.
Friday Morning
I was up at the crack of dawn for Oprah Fridays Live two days back as they were broadcasting from Central Park. One of my closest friend's best friend works on the show, thus the invite. It's not like Oprah Winfrey knows who I am. I knew Mariah Carey would appear as guest but otherwise I went in to the event blind. I feared leaving deaf, memories of Mariah's ear-shattering top notes vaguely worrying me. I've never understood the appeal of that girlwoman and her butterfly / charm bracelet /sweet sweet fantasy / glitter world (is she 12? seriously) but the excitement about attending a live televised event was plenty to »

J names have had their day in the sun: a whole generation of Jennifers and Jessicas, Jasons and Joshuas are now growing up and having babies of their own. Then came the K names popular in the nineties: Kyle, Kayla, Kaitlyn. Next up? The L names. Pamela Redmond-Satran, co-founder of nameberry.com, says that “L is the hottest beginning consonant for babies’ names here and throughout Europe.” Hotter still are names with a double-l sound like Lila and Tallulah.
There are a litany of celebrity babies born recently with L names in the Luke and Lucy family, which means light. They include Lucia, as chosen by Amber and Rob Mariano; Luciana, as chosen by Carnie Wilson; Lucy, as chosen by Nancy Grace; Luc, as chosen by Peter Gabriel; Luca, as chosen by Vincent D’Onofrio; Luka, as chosen by Tom Colicchio and Luke, as chosen by Natalie Morales.
