- Studied electromechanics, but abandoned the college for high-life. Very good with machinery and electric systems, he was able to repair cars and film cameras by his own hand. In Lourenço Marques, Mozambique (under Portuguese administration), he founded Somar Filmes (Production company), Tam-Tam Publicidade (Marketing, and Radio production - the one-hour radio program, A Onda da Manhã, at Radio Club Moçambique) and, in association with João Fernando Ramos and Eurico Ferreira, Filmlab (Film development), a primitive but effective lab sharing space with Somar in the same building, at Rua J. Serrão.
- He produced Visor Moçambicano (1971-1974), a 10 minute weekly documentary sponsored by Shell Co., focusing in cultural, social and economic events, and some reports on political news, but less than other film-journals at the time. Visor Desportivo was an offspring of the main journal, alternating with it from 1972.
