Joel Schumacher has had what could best be described as a “mixed career”. There have been many highs – and many lows. For every Falling Down or Tigerland, there’s a Batman and Robin or Dying Young. One peruses his CV and expects stinker after stinker, but in fact, he’s directed some brilliant films down the years.
His latest flick – Blood Creek – starring Dominic Purcell and Henry Cavill looks barking mad. Mixing Nazi occult rituals, action scenes and lots of blood, the trailer offers a glimmer of something quite interesting. Schumacher has always had a rather camp and fun sense of humour, so don’t expect anything too serious. With a script by David Kajganich (The Invasion), this could be b-movie heaven – or hell. The poster is pretty cool, though. Is it a monster or a man?
Blood Creek is out early 2010.

At long last Lionsgate opens up and releases a trailer for Blood Creek aka Town Creek. To see DVD and Blu-Ray discs beginning in January 19th this first trailer honestly looks bloody awesome! Best trailer for 2009? This is a possibility as Victor Marshall (Dominic Purcell) fights off a Nazi occultist in this first clip, or is it a demon? Have a look for yourself and decide as this glorious trailer for Blood Creek explodes inside.
But first the synopsis:
"Evan Marshall's life has stalled at 25 years old. Left without answers after his older brother Victor's disappearance from a camping trip near Town Creek, Maryland, he has tried to move on. But when Victor returns one night, very much alive and having escaped his captors, Evan asks no questions. At his brother's request, he loads their rifles, packs up their boat and follows him back to Town Creek on a mission »

Nazi-related horror movies seem to be pretty popular at the moment. If you want Nazis and zombies, you can check out “Dead Snow.” If you’re more interested in a Nazi-centric slasher, “Final Solution” looks like it may fit the proverbial bill. However, if blood rituals, black magic, and Dominic Purcell is more to your liking, director Joel Schumacher’s upcoming “Blood Creek” (aka “Town Creek”) might be the cinematic gem you’re searching for. The trailer certainly looks interesting, but then again, I’m kind of a sucker for those “people trapped in a building fighting otherworldly entities” movies, so my opinion may not be worth anything at all. Once you properly investigate the trailer embedded below, you’ll see what I mean. Then again, maybe not. The synopsis is as follows: In 1936, the Wollners – a German family living in rural Town Creek, Maryland – are contacted by the Third »

Someone old, someone new… HBO is now confirming that True Blood has cast both kinds of characters for season 3. First up: Marshall Allman, best known as Dominic Purcell’s son on Prison Break, has landed the plum part of shapeshifter Sam’s younger sib, Tommy. If you must, go ahead and launch into your own rendition of “He Ain’t Hairy, He’s My Brother.” I’ll wait. Ready? Alright then. Shannon Lucio, who on Prison Break was the Gate receptionist who turned out to be an undercover Fed, has been cast as Bill’s wife, Caroline, to whom he »

It looks like Joel Shumacher's forgotten Nazi horror flick, Blood Creek, has finally been given a trailer now that Lionsgate has decided when they will let the film rot on DVD store shelves (January 19th 2010).
Previously known as ""Town Creek," and then "Creek," the schizoid movie is a supernatural revenge tale that stars Dominic Purcell, Henry Cavill, Michael Fassbender and Emma Booth.
Synopsis:
Evan Marshall's life has stalled at 25 years old. Left without answers after his older brother Victor's disappearance from a camping trip near Town Creek, Maryland, he has tried to move on. But when Victor returns one night, very much alive and having escaped his captors, Evan asks no questions. At his brother's request, he loads their rifles, packs up their boat and follows him back to Town Creek on a mission of revenge that will test them in every possible way.
You can watch the creepy supernatural Nazi action after the break. »

Dominic Purcell, Henry Cavill and Michael Fassbender star. Click on the title above for stills and poster art! »

One of 2009's more bizarre offerings, Blood Creek , is making its way to DVD on January 19. Honestly, I enjoyed the hell out of this film, which was directed by Joel Schumacher and stars Dominic Purcell, Henry Cavill and, briefly, Michael Fassbender. It's a mix of action, the occult, Nazi mayhem, but it's also a creature feature (with zombie f**kin' horses and dogs) and a siege picture in some respects with a dose of EC Comics atmosphere. Totally unexpected. Give it a chance and you might dig it. The disc comes with Schumacher's commentary. »

Blood Creek, a film by director Joel Schumacher, has been given poor treatment by distributors Lionsgate Films. Town Creek aka Blood Creek aka Creek was released to multiple, smaller theaters in September, and now the film has received an unpublicized official DVD release date (January 19). So, why the neglect of horror films by this studio? It seems that once management was changed at Lionsgate, awhile back, most of the horror titles were dumped and this includes Blood Creek. A film with a slick look and an intriguing story line, Blood Creek looks worthy of a view, despite the dismissal by Lionsgate.
Have a look at the available info' and synopsis for Blood Creek below.
"In 1936, the Wollners--a German family living in rural Town Creek, Maryland--are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar, Professor Ricard Wirth (Michael Fassbender). In need of money, they accept Wirth into their home. »

Offered a very small release this season, not many had a chance to see Joel Schumacher's delayed Blood Creek . Not even us. But from those who did catch it, we've heard nothing but very cool things from them. On the heels of the film's DVD announcement ( here ), we've exclusively received a pair of new photos. You'll find one below, click below for the other still. Dominic Purcell and Michael Fassbender star in this tale of revenge and Nazi occult experiments. »

Lionsgate Home Entertainment sent along the news of a DVD street date for Blood Creek, the Joel Schumacher-directed chiller that it sneaked into a handful of theaters in September. We also got word of a rather disappointing title change to the British film Lesbian Vampire Killers (pictured) for its U.S. home release.
Blood Creek (previously known as Town Creek and just plain Creek), starring Dominic Purcell and Henry Cavill as brothers seeking vengeance against a group continuing decades-old Nazi occult experiments, hits DVD January 19. The movie will be accompanied by Schumacher’s audio commentary, and the retail price is $26.98. Meanwhile, Lesbian Vampire Killers has been rechristened simply Vampire Killers by distributors The Weinstein Company and Vivendi Entertainment for its disc launch December 29. Popular UK comic actors James Corden and Mathew Horne topline this spoof of such sexy Hammer treats as Twins Of Evil and Lust For A Vampire, »

Several new teasers and one-sheets have been released to get movie watchers hyped up about fall and winter releases.
Director Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus gets the deluxe treatment in a new teaser poster featuring the late Heath Ledger, as well as Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law, and ... floating heads? The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus opens December 25.
Lionsgate serves up a dose of "Nazi horror" with the obscure Blood Creek, by director Joel Schumacher. Blood Creek stars Dominic Purcell and Michael Fassbender and recently opened in select theaters.

This past weekend, Joel Schumacher's latest genre offering Blood Creek was quietly released into a handful of second run theaters by Lionsgate, similar to their treatment of last year's The Midnight Meat Train . (Which is a shame, because Blood Creek is actually pretty good!) Although it'll be tough to catch, at the very least, below you'll find this pretty bad-ass theatrical one-sheet poster for the flick. The chiller (formally known as Creek ), stars Dominic Purcell ( The Gravedancers ), Henry Cavill and Michael Fassbender and was scripted by Dave Kajganich ( The Invasion , the upcoming theatrical version of Stephen King's It ). So Joel Schumacher's latest film Blood Creek has been dumped into a handful of second-run and two-dollar theatres by Lionsgate without so much as a peep of notice. It's a wonder then how it got itself such a badass poster.
Blood Creek (as it is now known) stars Dominic Purcell, Henry Cavill, and Michael Fassbender. The movie opens in 1936 during the height of the Nazis' power, then brings us into modern times with the ghosts of the past coming back to haunt today’s world.

Let me ask you something. Given the opportunity, would you decline to work on a franchise you think is silly, or would you bite the bullet and try to start a revolt from the inside? That's something I wonder about David Slade directing the third Twilight movie, which apparently promises to be a little different. In this edition, we'll also take a look at the latest District 9 controversy, a Mamma Mia! without Abba, and the zombie Patrick Swayze that never was.

• Roger Corman is getting an Oscar! Can you believe it? The Academy has decided to give the King of B-movies an honorary award for his memorable works, alongside actress Lauren Bacall, producer John Calley and cinematographer Gordon Willis. Maybe next year, they can give one to Russ Meyer.
• One of my most anticipated films at the moment, The Prophet, has just been picked as France's entry for the 2010 Academy Awards. »

Fango got a tip from our writer Chris Poggiali that a movie called Blood Creek opened today at discount theaters in assorted U.S. cities. We did a little digging around and confirmed our suspicions: the film is a retitling of Joel Schumacher’s Creek, originally filmed as Town Creek.
Whatever the title, the movie, scripted by David Kajganich, stars Dominic Purcell and Henry Cavill as brothers who run afoul of Nazi occult experiments dating back to the 1930s. Produced by Gold Circle, the film is being “released” by Lionsgate in much the same manner it did The Midnight Meat Train last year, relegating it to dollar cinemas outside of the top markets. (So far, we’ve tracked it down in Dallas, Nashville, Phoenix, Orlando, Memphis, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, Mi and Rochester, NY.) We imagine a DVD release announcement will follow shortly, and will keep you posted on any updates. »

Remember that flick Town Creek we told you about a while ago? We first brought it to your attention that Joel Schumacher was working on a horror flick having to do with the Nazis' obsession with creating the master race way back in 2007. Well, it's in theatres now. Really. It is. Well ... sort of.
According to The Blood Shot Eye the flick is now in limited release in a handful of second-run two-dollar theatres. Song sound familiar?

In completely random news, Lionsgate continued their trend in quietly dumping films in theaters by releasing Joel Schumacher's Blood Creek (retitled from Creek) in extremely limited theaters across the country, at least that's what The Bloodshot Eye is reporting.
