Canadaland is thrilled to announce the hiring of its new editor-in-chief, Karyn Pugliese.
Pugliese will take command of Canadaland’s newsroom, set the editorial direction of the company, and oversee its growing slate of podcasts, including the flagship Canadaland podcast.
She will work with founder and publisher Jesse Brown to maintain Canadaland’s strong investigative mandate, amplify its unique voice, and extend its record of breaking national news stories. As Canadaland moves into its second decade, Pugliese will be responsible for defining and expanding its editorial vision. She will start in early July.

In "School Spirits," protagonist Maddie (Peyton List) wakes up one day to discover she's a ghost - and, possibly even more disconcertingly, she's trapped in her high school forever. In the show, which premieres on Paramount+ on March 9, ghosts are everywhere, they can see everything, and unfortunately, they also can't leave the place where they died.
Despite playing a ghost on screen, List herself actually doesn't like to entertain the idea that ghosts might be walking among us. "I feel like the mind is so powerful. I prefer to say no," the 24-year-old star tells Popsugar. "I don't let any of that in, because I think the mind can just run and create a reality. Disney Branded Television has promoted four key execs on its Original Movies team. Amee Dolleman and Charles Pugliese have been elevated to vice president, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television
and Mahita Penke and Jennifer Dubin have been upped to executive director, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television.
The Disney Branded Television team, led by Lauren Kisilevsky, SVP, Original Movies, has broadened its movie production slate over the past two years to reach kids, families, young adults and the young at heart.
The team just launched the third installment of the Zombies franchise, starring Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly, on Disney+, along with other projects, including Out of My Mind, based on the best-selling novel by Sharon M. Draper from Big Beach, Participant and EveryWhere Studios LLC for Disney+; Descendants sequel The Pocketwach movie; and Prom Pact and Sneakerella, Spin and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. She reports to Kisilevsky.

Amee Dolleman and Charles Pugliese have been elevated to the roles of vice president of original movies, while Mahita Penke and Jennifer Dubin have been upped to executive director of original movies.

Paramount+ has rounded out the cast for its upcoming YA drama series School Spirits as production gets underway in Vancouver.
