When Lisa Peluso heard that James Worley had been charged with the alleged July abduction and murder of 20-year-old Ohio college student Sierah Joughin, she was shocked and disturbed: Peluso and her 14-year-old daughter had been at Worley's Delta, Ohio, property the day before Joughin disappeared. According to Peluso, Worley, 57, ran an engine repair service out of his barn. As part of a gift to her daughter, Madalynn, Peluso took her to Worley's property on July 18 to fix the engine of a vehicle they owned. A search of murder suspect James Worley's property has revealed no human remains, days after police said a missing woman's body was found near his home and that he fit the profile of a "serial offender," People confirms. Worley came under suspicion and was subsequently searched after being accused of abducting and murdering Sierah Joughin. The 20-year-old college student went...

As authorities continue to investigate the death of Sierah Joughin, the 20-year-old Ohio college student whose remains were discovered in a cornfield on July 22 after she went missing days earlier, friends and family are paying tribute to her. On Friday, University of Toledo students held a vigil for Joughin that was organized by fellow incoming junior Natalie Zerucha. Zerucha, 21, first met Joughin when they lived in the same dorm as freshmen. She says the two became close this past spring when Joughin pledged the business fraternity/sorority Alpha Kappa Psi that Zerucha belonged to. "Whether or not you knew her...

Today saw the release of the Graveyard of Empires trade paperback, collecting the popular zombie mini-series from Mark Sable and Paul Azaceta. We recently had a chance to talk with the two of them, and learned about the research that went into the story, the reaction the book received from the military community, and the possibility of a Graveyard of Empires movie:
About Graveyard of Empires: “Afghanistan. U.S. Marines face a never-ending onslaught of Taliban. But even hell can get worse. The dead are coming back to life in The Graveyard of Empires, and only together can both sides of the today’s conflict survive tomorrow’s undead assault. Writer Mark Sable (Unthinkable, Two-Face Year One) reunites with his Grounded co-creator, Paul Azaceta (Amazing Spider-Man) to tell this critically claimed, controversial tale of terror. Featuring an all-new story created by Paul Azaceta in his comics writing debut!”

Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Fool Moon #4
Written by Jim Butcher and Mark Powers
Art by Chase Conley
Colors by Mohan
Letters by Bill Tortolini
Cover by Chase Conley
Dynamite Entertainment
Release Date: October 5, 2011
Cover Price: $3.99
Let me start by saying I love everything Jim Butcher has written. This was no exception. Obviously, the story was slimmed down and adapted to comic form but the source material is still there. Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Fool Moon #4 is all about Harry Dresden and Tera West finding MacFinn after his transformation into a loup garou (a very nasty type of lycanthrope). Of course, with Harry, nothing is ever simple.
A bit of confusion leads Tera to attempt to attack Harry. He, however, doesn't have time for it and decides to avoid the confrontation. Quickly realizing the police are looking for them, they decide to split up after finding MacFinn.

This week, the comic book shelves holds a treat for anyone who loves a good wizard detective story. That's right, Harry Dresden is back in the comic pages, this time from Dynamite Entertainment. Issue 1 of .Fool Moon. is the first installment of a comic adaptation of the novel by the same name. Jim Butcher, author of The Dresden Files series of books, is the primary author for the comics, and that is a wonderful thing. He knows Harry and the other characters completely, as well as the stories. He is the perfect person to adapt his work. This issue covers the first several chapters of the novel, and does a nice job overall. Naturally, little things have to be cut for space, but writers Butcher and Mark Powers are staying very true to the story. It helps that Butcher knows just ...

Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Storm Front Vol. 1: The Gathering Storm
Adaptation by Mark Powers; Illustrated by Ardian Syaf
Del Rey, June 2009, $22.95
It’s never a good sign when anything gets named “The Gathering Storm” – that’s possibly the most generic title in a world filled with blandness and non-specificity. I suppose it’s more understandable when you’re adapting a novel named Storm Front, and you have to call the separate volumes something, and then that phrase rises up out of the collective unconsciousness, and you can’t think of anything better…but, still, it’s a flabby, overused title that needs to be retired for two or three generations to have any hope of not being a laughingstock.
But The Gathering Storm is only the very end of an exceptionally long title, so exhaustion is a plausible excuse. This particular Gathering Storm is the first...
