- From 1980 to 2011 he was the voice of Jack Woolley in the long running BBC radio series, "The Archers". He replaced Philip Garston-Jones who had died. Prior to this he had also appeared as farmhand Len Thomas in 1953 and the Rev David Latimer, vicar of Ambridge, from 1968 to 1973.
- His character Jack Woolley in "The Archers" developed Alzheimer's disease and was written out. Ironically Arnold Peters developed Alzheimer's himself shortly afterwards.
- He was booked to play Questa in Doctor Who: The Macra Terror but was replaced by Ian Fairbairn.
