Ashley Scott and Kristen Wilson have nabbed the female leads in MGM's updated version of the 1973 actioner Walking Tall for director Kevin Bray and Hyde Park Entertainment. Shooting is scheduled to start in July. Walking Tall centers on a Tennessee sheriff (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and his one-man mission to remove corruption from his county. Neal McDonough also stars as Hamilton, the main nemesis to Johnson's character and the man at the center of the corruption. Scott will play the sheriff's love interest in the small town, and Wilson will play his sister. David Klass wrote the update of the project. Hyde Park Entertainment's Ashok Amritraj and Mandeville Films' David Hoberman are producing Walking Tall with Lucas Foster and Jim Burke. Keith Samples is executive producing the project. Scott, repped by UTA, Original Management's Jonathan Perry and attorney Marcy Morris, is best known for her role on the short-lived WB Network series Birds of Prey. She recently completed a role in Columbia Pictures' S.W.A.T. and the indie horror film Trespassing. Wilson, repped by the Gersh Agency and Sanders Armstrong, is best known for her role as Eddie Murphy's wife in the Dr. Dolittle franchise. She most recently appeared in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and as a recurring character on the television series The District and Crossing Jordan.

Estella Warren and Ashley Scott have teamed to star in the horror film Trespassing for H.S.I. Entertainment/Samy Boy Pictures. James Merendino is directing the project from his own script. Trespassing, which is shooting in New Orleans, centers on a graduate student (Daniel Gillies) preparing his thesis on mythology who leads his friends on a research expedition to an old plantation estate on the outskirts of the Big Easy. The site is reputed to mysteriously cause madness and death to all who enter it. Warren and Scott play Gillies' friends who go along for the expedition. Clayne Crawford and Jeff Davis round out the cast. Producing Trespassing are H.S.I.'s Stavros Merjos and Adam Rosenfelt along with Pop Art Films' Sam Maydew. Samy Boy's Sam Nazarian will executive produce. Louisiana-based Lift Prods. is co-producing. Scott is repped by UTA, Original Management's Jonathan Perry and attorney Marcy Morris at Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman and Wertheimer. She appeared on Birds of Prey and next stars in Columbia Pictures' S.W.A.T. Warren is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment's Stephanie Simon and Morris. Her credits include Kangaroo Jack and Planet of the Apes. She next stars in Wayne Kramer's The Cooler for Lions Gate Films. Merendino's directing credits include SLC Punk! Ryan Reynolds, who toplined the Artisan Entertainment release National Lampoon's Van Wilder, has teamed with one of the producers of the film, Jonathon Komack Martin, to form the production company Dark Trick Films. Reynolds and Komack Martin will run the Beverly Hills-based operation, with Mike Eitelman serving as senior vp production. The trio could not be reached for comment Wednesday. The company does not yet have a studio deal. Reynolds, repped by Original's Jonathan Perry and attorney Jeanne Newman, has starred in Finder's Fee, Dick and the TV series Two Guys and a Girl. Komack Martin also produced Tangled and Held Up and was a co-producer on Sprung and Pinocchio's Revenge.
