Steven Tyler is primarily recognized as the lead vocalist and frontman of the iconic heavy metal rock band Aerosmith. Alongside guitarist Joe Perry, Tyler played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s identity since its inception in the 1970s.
Steven Tyler
Aerosmith gained fame for their blues-infused, swaggering rock style, often drawing comparisons to the legendary sound of the Rolling Stones. Notably, Tyler’s charismatic stage presence and vocal prowess often drew parallels to Mick Jagger, the lead singer of the Stones. With that said, Tyler previously admitted that he survived overdosing numerous times over the years.

Johnny Depp courtroom insider and TikTok influencer Danielle Dell’Olio finally met Depp at one of his Hollywood Vampire shows and recalled how Depp knew who she was from the trial.
Dell’Olio sat in the courtroom during the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial and provided inside information and observations on her podcast and on TikTok. She was also featured in the new Netflix docuseries, Depp v. Heard for her commentary of the trial.
She had never met Depp but finally came face to face with him at a meet and greet and was stunned when he thanked her for “saving his life.”

In a conversation with Vulture, Alice Cooper pooh-poohed Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp’s 2022 defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. The trial was filled with sensational claims, including one involving a deposit on the bed.
Cooper said that the topic never came up while the band was on tour “because nobody cared.”
“I never watched a moment of the trials,” Cooper said. “It was so blown out of proportion. It was such a Hollywood thing. I knew Johnny was gonna win because how many people have other exes literally on their side testifying for him? That never happens. I turned it right off and said, ‘Well, you know, Johnny will weather this storm and when he’s onstage, he’s our guitar player.'”
He added, “If you talk to Johnny about it, it was something that happened. He was just like, ‘Yeah, yeah, what’s the next song?’ … I...

Alice Cooper may have sung about the man behind the mask but he once tried to be the man behind the movie, pitching to Johnny Depp that he and Amber Heard should star in a remake of The War of the Roses, the 1989 movie about a bitter split of a married couple.
While Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were engaged in their circus of a trial in 2022, Depp’s friend and Hollywood Vampires bandmate (Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry rounds out the core three members) Alice Cooper told the actor, “I have a great idea. You and Amber do a remake of The War of the Roses. Who wouldn’t go and see that?” Not a bad take, since the Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner movie told of a couple on the brink of divorce who do whatever they can in an attempt to drive the other one out of the house.

As Aerosmith get ready to embark on a farewell tour, it’s no secret that guitarist Joe Perry and singer Steven Tyler have had their share of discord over the years. Such was the case around 2009, when Perry was seeking out a potential replacement for the band’s iconic vocalist.
In a new interview with The Dave Rickards Podcast, singer Chris Daughtry revealed that he was one of the candidates that Perry approached to take over for Tyler, who at the time entered rehab for painkillers and then emerged to become a judge on American Idol.
Frustrated with the lack of Aerosmith activity, Perry sought out possible replacements for Tyler. Over the years, it has been reported that Perry may have reached out to such singers as Sammy Hagar, Chris Cornell, Paul Rodgers, and Billy Idol.

Touring with his hard rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, the band’s latest concert in Budapest has been cancelled, and that too at the last minute as Depp ended up passing out at the hotel.
According to Hungarian news outlet Blikk, the ‘Edward Scissor Hands’ star missed the sound check ahead of the scheduled concert, but it created no suspicions whatsoever as this wasn’t the first time he did that.
A source at Blikk reported, quoted by Aceshowbiz: “Everything was set, the stage was set, the backstage crew was ready for the party. It didn’t even occur to me that there could be a problem, especially as the band members had done the sound set-up that had been scheduled for the afternoon.”
“No one thought any more about the fact that Johnny Depp didn’t take part, his microphone was set up by a staff member, but that’s not unusual for such stars.

Hollywood Vampires were in London to perform at the O2 Arena as part of their tour.
The band, which consists of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen, was formed in 2012. Former band members include Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum from Guns N’ Roses, Brad Whitford from Aerosmith and Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots.
Their band name was derived from a celebrity drinking club named The Hollywood Vampires. It was initiated by Cooper in the 1970s with members that included John Lennon, Ringo Starr and Kieth Moon, among others.
Last month, concert-goers sang “Happy Birthday” to Depp in Romania. A few days after his birthday, he was finally paid the $1 million settlement from his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires — featuring Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry — played a UK date on Tuesday night (July 11th) in Birmingham, home of heavy metal legends Black Sabbath.
Since they were in the neighborhood, the Vampires invited none other than legendary Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi onstage for an encore performance of “Paranoid.”
Given the wealth of talent involved, it’s a rousing rendition of the classic song with Cooper commanding lead vocals. Iommi even got a chance to rip through the song’s guitar solo, much to the excitement of the Birmingham crowd.
It’s certainly good to see the Sabbath guitarist back onstage and having a good time. In a recent interview, Iommi said he declined Black Sabbath’s invitation to the Power Trip festival and that his days of extensive touring were over.
However, he did add that he was feeling healthy enough to perform occasionally,...

Chicago – What began in Chicago in 2016 … as a preview to its eventual Broadway run … comes back to where it now belongs. The passionate and ebullient Kokandy Productions presents “The SpongeBob Musical,” and yes, it will satisfy fans of the cartoon series with flash, dash, and since it’s under the sea, Splash!
Play Rating: 4.5/5.0
What impressed me most about this production … originally created and produced by Nickelodeon … was the enthusiastic talent of its young and very vibrant cast, especially the manic energy of Quinn Rigg, who portrayed Squidward. Also Frankie Lee Bennett, as SpongeBob, nailed the squishy persona as the show’s centerpiece – part tumbler, tart commentator and wondrous innocent. The memorable songs were commissioned from rock stars, including David Bowie, the Plain White T’s, John Legend and Steven Tyler/Joe Perry of Aerosmith. For ticket info and more, click Spongebob.

Every month we celebrate the new releases on Screambox, but occasionally we randomly sneak new titles onto the streaming service.
This month, we added the excellent documentary, Death by Metal, which celebrates the birth of death metal and late guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner.
The doc tells the story of the influential American death metal band Death, founded in 1983 by Schuldiner, which produced several masterpieces through Schuldiner’s death in 2001.
Death’s burning speed and ferocity was only matched by Chuck’s unbending determination to bash out the most boundary-crushing interpretation of heavy metal.
Also streaming on Screambox is The Decline of Western Civilization: Part II, which dissects the world of heavy metal through interviews with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Lemmy Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Bret Michaels, Rikki Rocket, Dave Mustaine, and C.C. The shows, originally set for May 30, May 31 and June 1 in Manchester, Nh, Boston and Bethel, NY, respectively, have been rescheduled for late July, according to an announcement by the band.
“We are sad to share that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling our three US tour dates this coming week,” the band says on its social media accounts. “Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events, but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”
The three original U.S. dates had been planned as as a lead-in to a European tour that includes stops in Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, France and others.
Depp recently performed on stage in a couple of U.K. Jeff Beck tribute concerts. Just prior to those shows he greeted press at the Cannes Film Festival to promote his latest movie Jeanne du Barry.

A star-studded gathering of musicians honored the late guitar legend Jeff Beck with two tribute shows on Monday (May 22nd) and Tuesday (May 23rd) at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Eric Clapton, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Rod Stewart, Johnny Depp, Zz Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry were among the major names who took the stage to perform material and covers that Beck himself played during his lifetime.
Highlights included a rousing cover of Beck and Depp’s take on “Isolation” by John Lennon — performed by Hammett, Gibbons, and Depp (who released the song as a collaborative single with Beck in 2022); Stewart tearing through a four-song medley with Clapton; and Gibbons and Depp taking on Zz Top’s “Rough Boy,” a song Beck and Gibbons used to play together.
Elsewhere, Clapton performed lengthy sets on both nights, dipping into Beck’s songbook for originals like “Beck’s Bolero,...

Los Angeles, May 2 (Ians) Fifty-three years after being born in Boston, record-setting American hard rock band Aerosmith, fronted by ‘Demon of Screamin’ Steven Tyler, has announced a 40-date farewell tour for this Fall. The band said in an announcement that it is finally calling it quits on road dates, reports ‘Variety’.

Inspiration for classic rock songs sometimes came from unexpected places. For example, Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” was inspired by The Three Stooges. In addition, Steven Tyler said the meaning of the song was cleverly disguised.

Aerosmith have plans to go on tour beginning Sept. 2023, and thanks to some mysterious marketing surrounding the band with the words “Peace Out,” fans are thinking it could be their last.
In addition to the “Peace Out” banners that have popped up at venues like the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City and the Td Garden in Boston, there’s also a countdown clock that’s now on the band’s website counting down to May 1, 10 a.m. Et.
When guitarist Joe Perry told New York’s 102.3 Wbab that Aerosmith was going on tour in the fall, there was no mention of it being a final farewell.
“I don’t know if I’m not supposed to announce it or not, but we are gonna announce the tour, and it’s gonna start in September and will go into next year,” said Perry. “And being one of the guys who votes on this kind of thing,...

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry recently revealed that Aerosmith were going on tour later this year, and it looks like the outing might be their last.

Bob Dylan considered himself a fan of The Beatles, even early in their career. He found their innovation impressive and knew they would be a success. When discussing their music, though, Dylan admitted that he did not view them as a rock ‘n’ roll band. He believed that British people typically were not making rock music.

When Dylan first heard The Beatles, he found them incredibly impressive, noting that their ability to work together as a band shone through in their songs.
“They were doing things nobody was doing,” he told Rolling Stone in 1972. “Their chords were outrageous, just outrageous, and their harmonies made it all valid. You could only do that with other musicians.”
He said that he always knew they had staying power, even when others doubted it.

Rock’n’roll musicians have a habit of thinking of themselves like secular gods, but the truth is they’re not infallible. No matter how successful a band may or may not have been in the past, there’s never any guarantee their next record will live up to the heights they’ve previously scaled. Sometimes, everything that once went right just all goes wrong.
There are often extenuating circumstances, of course. Band members may leave due to death, drugs or just good old-fashioned “musical differences”, or an ambitious new direction may turn out to be more like a swerve into oncoming traffic.
Whatever the cause, the fact remains that just because an album has the name of a classic band slapped across the cover, it doesn’t necessarily follow that the album itself will be a classic.

Guitarist Joe Perry has revealed that singer Steven Tyler is doing “100 percent better” after recent health issues, and that Aerosmith are planning to launch a tour in September.
Four months ago, Aerosmith dropped the final two dates of their “Deuces Are Wild” Las Vegas residency due to Tyler’s health. When asked about the singer’s condition in a new interview with Detroit’s Wrif, Perry said his longtime bandmate is on the mend.
“Steven’s doing great,” Perry said. “He’s doing a 100 percent better. He had a lot of physical stuff going on that — finally — he really needed to take some more time off, unfortunately.”
Tyler, who recently denied allegations that he sexually abused a minor in the 1970s, is apparently doing well enough to tour. Perry revealed the band’s fall plans in a separate interview with New York’s 102.3 Wbab when asked if Aerosmith were commemorating...

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced a new solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto Mkii, the follow-up to the first Sweetzerland Manifesto released back in 2018.
Ahead of the new album’s May 26th release date, Perry also shared the lead single “Fortunate One” featuring The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson. The rollicking blues rocker is tangental to Robinson’s longtime band and solo work, and he sounds right at home over Perry’s licks and solos. Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert Deleo also plays on “Fortunate One,” continuing the Sweetzerland Manifesto tradition of Perry bringing in guest singers and musicians.
“I’m really excited to get this song out — it hadn’t been written when the first version of Sweetzerland Manifesto was released,” Perry commented via a press release. “My old friend Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes sang on it, he knocked it outta the park! We started it in L.A.

Fronted by Steven Tyler, with Joe Perry perhaps the most iconic “guitar player with mystique” ever, the band had a slew of iconic hits in the seventies, including “Dream On,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “Walk This Way.” But, as with many iconic rock bands, drug addiction took an enormous toll, and by the time the early eighties rolled around, Aerosmith seemed to be on a collision course with obscurity. What followed was perhaps one of the greatest comebacks in rock history, with Aerosmith teaming up with Run Dmc for an...

Released in 1975, “Sweet Emotion” led the Steven Tyler and Aerosmith down a road of massive success. It was the classic rock band’s first single to crack the top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 list, earning them bigger gigs with a larger audience. However, even Aerosmith’s biggest fans never noticed the distinct sound of one of the instruments breaking while listening to the single.
Steven Tyler admits he broke the instrument you can hear in the song
An Aerosmith fan page on TikTok recently shared a clip from an old interview where lead singer Steven Tyler points out the mishap. While appearing on The Howard Stern Show in 2013, he told the host to listen carefully as the song played in the background.
“Listen. Hear that?” Tyler asked Howard Stern during the “Sweet Emotion” intro. “It’s called a vibraslap,” he explained. “You can hear it break. Watch. Did you hear that?...

Just three weeks ago, relations between Aerosmith and their drummer Joey Kramer were so strained that security guards refused him entry to their Grammy rehearsals.
But Monday night in Las Vegas, they welcomed him back onto the stage for a full set at their ongoing Deuces Are Wild residency at the MGM Grand. It was his first appearance with the band since he was sidelined by an injury in April 2019.

Snoop Dogg makes a cameo in the new Super Bowl commercial for The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, in theaters May 22nd.
The clip opens with Mr. Krab telling SpongeBob that Super Bowl commercials are extremely expensive, and that he has exactly 26 seconds to list everything in the upcoming film. “There’s fast cars, flashbacks,” he quickly says, adding “Snoop Dogg!” to the list as a glimpse of the rapper performing at a Bikini Bottom club flashes across the screen.

It could be an entertaining spectacle, if you ignored the crumbling institutions it was built upon and the creeping fear in the air — but enough about life in 21st century America. The Grammys have their own problems, with the show going on in the face of a roiling crisis at its governing body, the Recording Academy, after recently dismissed CEO Deborah Dugan dropped a long list of grave allegations against it, including rampant gender bias and corruption around the awards process. (The Academy denies it all.)

Florence Welch doesn’t find numbers easy. The Florence and the Machine star was diagnosed with both dyslexia and dyscalculia in her youth — two sets of “learning difficulties,” as she often heard them described, inaccurately, during her school years.
As she describes in the foreword to “Creative Differences” — a new handbook on neurodiversity published by Universal and aimed at employers in the creative industries — Welch says that in her first paid job, as a barmaid, she felt a “sting of shame” when her manager exposed her inability to count change.
