Because Heroes is currently filming its final episode of season four, creator Tim Kring can say with "complete clarity" that Adrian Pasdar won't return to the series.
The actor's character leaped to his death on "The Fifth Stage," the final Heroes installment of 2009.
“We started discussing it at the end of last season, when we actually killed the character,” Kring told Fancast.com in an interview, “so it really just became a matter of how and when.”
Nathan might be gone, but his relatives Peter and Claire remain. How will his death impact their relationship?
“They are able to sort of bond over the loss of their brother and father,” Kring said. “So you will see those stories start to collide.”
When Heroes returns - with a two-hour episode on January 4; and then at 9 p.m. on Mondays, following Chuck, beginning on January 11 - Samuel’s seemingly sinister plan will »

Dawn Olivieri has revealed that her former Heroes co-star Adrian Pasdar was "surprised" at being axed. Earlier this year, reports surfaced suggesting that Pasdar had been dropped from the NBC series. His character, Nathan, was later killed off in the Fall finale. In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Heroes newcomer Olivieri, who plays carnival goer Lydia, suggested that the actor should not have been axed. "They always say that no one dies on Heroes, but Adrian may be done for good," she admitted. "I know for a fact that he was surprised with the release because it wasn't really told to him as one would like. "I think they're trying to change the show a bit - everyone gets hurt or semi-dies - and they wanted (more) »

'Heroes' managed to kill off a character this week, Too bad he was already dead This review may contain spoilers. Rebounding from an uneventful Thanksgiving themed episode, this week.s offering was much more significant and worthwhile. With a very compelling storyline focused on Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and the Petrelli brothers, .Heroes. managed to go into the holiday hiatus on a relatively positive note. Now that all of the Petrelli.s know that Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) is, indeed, dead, the story really didn.t have anywhere else to go. The writers finally cut loose an original cast member by having Nathan say his final goodbye in a pretty exciting and emotional scene that carried the episode. Of course Sylar has his own body back now, even though it would have been more meaningful and »

I'm not usually a morbid person, but I've been screaming "Kill Mohinder Suresh!" in the general direction of my TV for almost four seasons now. As Heroes started to go downhill, the bland scientist (played by Sendhil Ramamurthy) began to symbolize everything that was so bad about a show that used to be so good. His only real character trait was the amazing power to always make friends with the wrong people. Worse still, his narration bookended every episode with insipid, subtle-as-a-brick-to-the-head thematic talk that made Meredith Grey sound like Shakespeare. Although still listed as a series regular, Ramamurthy has been mostly absent this season, »

The passing of Nathan Petrelli ought to be one of those moments that should affect and stay with you. The character has, after all, been central to the series since the very first episode and is superbly played by Adrian Pasdar. Unfortunately the exit Nathan is given in 'The Fifth Stage' proves far from memorable.
Part of the problem is that we have seen this all before. Prior to this episode, Heroes has appeared to kill Nathan four times, only a couple of episodes earlier this season having some contract killers shoot him dead. It is the dramatic equivalent of crying wolf . do it too often and it loses its impact. This time I was left completely unmoved.
Matters are not helped at all by the episode's clumsy use of crucifixion imagery, driving nails into his palms and having him fall, arms outstretched, to his death. Nor are they helped »

Did death become Heroes? Did the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade miss Glee? And did you know Ugly Betty is still on the air? The answers—and more questions—in the latest TV ratings quiz: 1. When Nathan fell, did Heroes rise? Technically, yes. Per Nielsen estimates, 5.9 million people witnessed last night's annual offing of Adrian Pasdar. That put the show up 14 percent from last week, when it barely broke 5 million. 2. So, is Heroes saved? Up is up. You can't argue with that. You also can't help but notice that, advance hype or no, the episode got killed at 8 p.m. by a How I Met Your Mother rerun, a Shrek the Halls rerun and, understandably, an all-new House. Even odder, Heroes »

Might our dreams finally come true?
For years, as his character has grown more and more useless and directionless, we've begged Heroes to give Sendhil Ramamurthy the Adrian Pasdar treatment; i.e. boot him off the show.
Now, due to circumstances outside the struggling show, Ramamurthy may be on his way out.
The actor has joined the cast of NBC's comedic pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. It's scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2010 and Ramamurthy would play an attorney that's friends with the show's title character. He'd be a regular.
Rex is Not Your Lawyer will also star David Tennant, Abigail Spencer and Jane Curtin.
It's produced by the same company behind Heroes, and will air on the same network; therefore, Ramamurthy could conceivably be available for both shows.
But is Mohinder such a vital part of the Heroes cast that such a move is necessary? Or, as »

Nathan Petrelli deserved better.
The character - who had the potential throughout Heroes to be the show's most layered, complex character - was misused for seasons on end. The writers could never decide in what direction to point the politician, as they officially killed him off this week in a death NBC hyped across the Internet in order to boost ratings.
Did it do the job? Were you satisfied with the death of Nathan? You gotta at least give Adrian Pasdar credit for doing the best he could with utterly pathetic, cliche-ridden lines during his final scene, such as:
You can do anything.
Tell mom I love her.
Read our detailed review of the episode "The Fifth Stage" and let us know if you share our disappointment in how the show gave Nathan the axe.
The installment wasn't all bad, however. We dug Claire's interaction with Samuel at the carnival. »

Unless you've been living under a rock with noise-canceling headphones (or recently encountered a sexy Haitian), you've probably heard by now that—I guess we should say Spoiler Alert here?—Adrian Pasdar's character, Nathan Petrelli, is getting killed off of Heroes tonight. It is without a doubt the worst-kept secret of the TV season. After we reported Adrian's impending exit as a blind riddle, executive producer Tim Kring confirmed the news to TV Guide magazine, and now USA Today has a big flashy interview with Adrian himself (and also Kring). Yo, NBC and Kring, people like read that and stuff! This is…odd. Usually such major character deaths are kept under lock »

Warning: The following article contains a vital piece of information about tonight's new episode of Heroes.
Of course, there are few fans unaware that Nathan Petrelli is officially killed off the series tonight, as the storyline was leaked weeks ago.
Speaking to USA Today about the decision to axe one of the show's original character, creator Tim Kring said:
"On a show where you put characters in life-and-death situations with real stakes, characters have had to die... we were starting to run out of ways to keep [Nathan] around."
Note to Kring: The same reasoning applies to Tracy and Mohinder, two people that should have been removed from the series a very long time ago.
Referring to departing star Adrian Pasdar, Kring said he's a "loved member of the cast," and "has never been better" than in Nathan's final scene.
As for the actor himself, he recognizes it's time to go. »

This season, Heroes could be said to have been telling the story of three families: the Petrellis, the Bennets and Samuel's 'family' of Carnies. To tie in with Thanksgiving, this week's episode sees all three families celebrating the holiday. What that means in effect is that the episode features three groups of people squabbling about their issues and making dramatic revelations at the dinner table.
The principle problem that the episode suffers from is one of predictability. While we may not have seen the murder of Samuel's brother before, most of us could guess who was responsible. Likewise, we may not have been explicitly shown whose body Sylar's soul ended up in but most people's assumptions will be correct. Even the reappearance of a character close to the end ought not to shock those who are paying attention earlier in the episode.

The episode was called “Thanksgiving,” and we had something to be thankful for: an episode that didn’t suck! Nothing really made any sense, and if you think that last night was yet another example of the show’s long spiral down the toilet bowl of badness toward the sewers of TV oblivion, I won’t argue with you. But human existence is nasty, brutish, and short, and you could’ve done much worse than spend an hour (only 42 minutes on DVR!) watching Heroes last night. Let’s take a look at the three Thanksgiving dinners that formed the bulk »

We all know that deaths on "Heroes" don't always, well, take. But so much has been made of the upcoming exit of Adrian Pasdar's Nathan Petrelli, you would think it's safe to say he's gone for good.
But, yeah, guess not.
Ktv correspondent Marisa Roffman caught up with Mr. Masi Oka at The Diversity Awards this weekend --where he won Best Actor in a TV Drama-- and Oka weighed in on several subjects, including Pasdar's future with the show, plus whether or not his own character could be in legitimate danger (in case you're behind, Hiro's power is supposedly killing him).
There's also some Charlie talk, some sweet reminiscing and Oka's pick for favorite episode of perhaps even the series so far...

Chicago – It’s funny the way that the Blu-Ray market has developed in that success of a new title can often bring an old one to the HD format more quickly than it otherwise would get there. In the case of the great “Near Dark,” it’s the success of two films, one that shares a theme (“The Twilight Saga: New Moon”) and one that shares director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”). Whatever the reason, don’t fail to include arguably the best vampire movie ever made in your collection.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0
I’d like to think that the success of one of the best movies of the year in Kathryn Bigelow’s “The Hurt Locker” is why we’re seeing one of her earlier films on Blu-Ray but the cheesy, re-done cover that makes the thing practically look like a “Twilight” sequel leads me to believe that it’s »

I guess the Heroes writers were going for the obvious with this episode title, instead of trying to come up with something more subtle. The November 23rd episode is Thanksgiving-centric and our two main families (the Bennetts and the Petrellis) come together with some big confrontations (for example, the fact that Nathan and Peter now know what their mother did with Nathan's body and Sylar). We've got 5 sneak peeks for you, along with a promo.
Thanksgiving Unites Families Together And Brings New Revelations
