This article contains Fast and Furious franchise spoilers
Coinciding with its “bigger and louder” trend, The Fast and the Furious franchise significantly upped its villain game as the series progressed. Bad guys in the early entries are forgettably bland, but the latter films feature some incredible villains.
In this ranking, we’ve excluded characters who were antagonists but not true villains, heroes briefly coerced into turning heel, and garden variety henchmen. The caveat to this is the Shaw brothers, who were the villains of the sixth and seventh films but eventually allied with the heroes (we can only assume they were redeemed by the sheer power of Family). But since they were villains, they remain on the list.
14. Johnny Tran
The first The Fast and the Furious villain is also the worst one. Johnny Tran (Rick Yune) is an amalgamation of every high school bully ever put to film. He’s forgettable,...

Nobody excels at playing chill dude-bros who can also kill you with their pinkie quite like Jason Momoa. It's an archetype the former "Baywatch" actor has steadily refined so as to better fit his talents over the course of his career, starting with his breakout role on "Stargate: Atlantis" and going on to his time playing Arthur Curry in the DC Extended Universe. With "Fast X," however, Momoa will finally get the chance to portray a full-on villain, as opposed to a giant cinnamon roll who happens to be really good at murder.
Okay, so that's not entirely accurate. If you've ever indulged in the junk food cinema that is director Walter Hill's 2013 action-thriller "Bullet to the Head," then you know Momoa has played something of an antagonist before. One could also point to his role as the werewolf Connor Slaughter — yes, that's his real name, and it is...

If you went back in time to 2001 and told a person that "The Fast and the Furious," a mid-budget summer programmer based on a magazine article about street racers that bears a very close resemblance to 1991's "Point Break," would not only become a success but turn into one of the most profitable longest-running film series in history, that person would probably freak out and scream "Help! There's someone here who's gone mad and thinks they can travel through time!"
Mad though you may seem, it would still be the truth: in 2022, the "Fast Saga" (as it's now colloquially known) is a film series that extends over two decades and has never gone more than a couple years in between installments. Moreover, it's the only film series with the highest number of installments that hasn't undergone a change of narrative continuity and/or a recasting of lead roles. After all,...

14 years after it first hit the big screen in 2001, the Vin Diesel and Paul Walker-led Fast & Furious franchise has gone from strength-to-strength, earning more than $2.3 billion at the worldwide box office.
Originally based around illegal street racing, the Fast movies have evolved to become big, bombastic entertainment with larger-than-life characters and gravity-defying stunts. But underneath it all these are also films about family, with Diesel, Walker, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez's characters the heartbeat of the series.
With Fast & Furious 7 due out on April 3, Digital Spy's Fast experts Tom Eames, Morgan Jeffery and Simon Reynolds went back through them all to come up with a definitive ranking from worst to best.
7. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
It's quite amazing that the Fast & Furious franchise survived at all after its misjudged sequel. Only Paul Walker remained for its second outing, which focused more on the street racing than the characters...

There were rumors Jason Statham might join the Fast and Furious franchise and star in The Fast and the Furious 6, Fast Six or whatever you would like to call it, but back in mid-April Twitch reported talks fell through with Statham as the production continues to move along with a May 24, 2013 release date already planned. Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are both set to return as Brian O'Connor and Dominic Toretto, Dwayne Johnson is also coming back as Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs, and Johnson recently told MTV the plan was to begin shooting in May. He added, "We're going to be in the U.K., we're going to be in Germany, from what I know." Well, with production just around the corner that means some more cast members need to be announced... right? Well, I can't help but wonder if today's news (via THR) may be a...

Fast Five Blu-Ray Combo Pack Universal Home Entertainment 2011/130 & 132 mins/Rated & Unrated List Price: $34.99 – Available October 4, 2011 A lot can change in a decade. Is the Fast and the Furious series really that old? I remember on April 28, 2001, exactly ten years ago, I got the chance to see the first installment in what has become a money making franchise. This was actually the original date the film was to be released, but Universal Pictures felt they had a summer hit on their hands and pushed it back to Friday June 22. Yet I got the chance to see the pic two months early through one of those market research groups. I'll admit it, I found the film rather underwhelming. After seeing trailers for the feature through much of the Winter, I thought Rob Cohen had made a nice little crime thriller. Twenty minutes into the film, the thing took a 180 for me when...

Fast And Furious 5: Rio Heist is the fifth instalment in the long running Fast & Furious franchise. The first film came out in 2001 and kick started a bit of a genre revival. Biker Boyz anyone? The usual suspects are all present and correct. Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) and Dom Toretto's (Vin Diesel) uneasy friendship being one of the main focus points of the films. Uneasy because O'Connor used to be a cop and also because he's now dating Dom's little sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). And of course the stars of the film, the cars.
The set up is quite simple. Not having seen Fast & Furious Parts 3 and 4, it's safe to assume that Dom was arrested at the end of the last one.The prison bus kind of gave that away. Obviously the best course of action is to bust him out of his imminent incarceration. If you aren't laughing within the first five minutes,...

The "Fast and the Furious" franchise keeps right on trucking with "Fast Five," which -- in case the title didn't give it away -- is the fifth installment in the pedal-to-the-metal series. This time around, all the familiar faces (or almost all -- sorry, Michelle Rodriguez!) from the previous films are back, including Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Tyrese Gibson. And -- are you ready for this? -- this time around they're joined by action stalwart Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a man who knows a thing or two about going "Faster" on the big screen. Sound awesome? You have no idea until you watch the world premiere of the trailer below.
In case your memory is rustier than a vintage roadster left to rot in the rain for 20 years, the last time we saw our heroes, former cop Brian O'Connor (Walker) and main squeeze Mia...

Eagles of Death Metal's bass player Brian O'Connor is to undergo surgery in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 16 after doctors diagnosed him with cancer. The rocker insists his prognosis is good and he's looking forward to getting back onstage after beating the disease through ongoing treatment and chemotherapy.
A statement from O'Connor to fans reads, "With the remarkable support and love from my amazing friends and family, I am receiving the best medical and moral attention one could ask for. I cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support and involvement." He further states, "I am excited for my full recovery and look forward to getting back to what I love most, melting face with my bass. I'm feeling great; after all, I am half unicorn."
