It's been six years since Netflix shelled out 40 million to Chris Rock for the rights to stream two stand-up specials, but we've only seen one, 2018's scathingly self-reflective "Tamborine," thus far. Just when you were worried he might be receding from view (particularly in the aftermath of getting slapped across the face by Will Smith at the 2022 Academy Awards), Netflix has announced that the trailblazing comic is roaring back to become the first artist to perform live on the streaming platform.
According to a press release issued by the company today, Rock will wield his microphone on a special that will stream live in early 2023. According to Robbie Praw, Netflix's Vice President of Stand-Up and Comedy Formats, "Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation. We're thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history.

Poldark is back with new faces, old rivalries and some painful goodbyes. Here’s our review of the eventful series three opener…
This review contains spoilers.

Cooee Poldark! Isn’t that out-of-control dot on the horizon none other than old flame Elizabeth, belly fit to burst with the fruits of the illicit night you shared last series, on a runaway horse heading for the cliff edge? Make haste sir!
To take a heartless view, were Elizabeth and her under-the-table baby to gallop off a precipice into the crashing waves below, it might not be the worst thing in the world for Ross Poldark. His wife Demelza, despite her innate goodness, would be able to see the silver lining of such a tragic event at least.

It seems that both sides of Bobbi Kristina Brown's family are coming together, despite their differences, during this undeniably difficult time. Bobbi Kristina's aunts, Tina Brown and Pat Houston, were seen leaving the hospice that the 22-year-old has been at earlier today, along with Uncle Ray, who was Whitney Houston's bodyguard. Bobby Brown was seen visiting his daughter over the weekend as well, and all family members appear to be leaving the facility as a united front—which is a major shift in the mood since the two sides have been notorious at odds since Whitney's passing three years ago. Tina's son, Shayne, explained to E! News that the Brown and Houston families are doing...

When we last left "Ravenswood," we were double-locking the doors and sleeping with the lights on. Here's hoping the scares keep coming on our new favorite show.
The Curse
Even after seeing Miranda last episode, Luke doesn't want to mess with the curse. But Remy, Caleb, Miranda and Olivia are plunging full speed ahead with their investigations. Miranda and Olivia look into Raymond Collins, who seemingly used to be romantically involved with Michelle Matheson -- and did not get along with her husband.
They don't find the bloody knife that killed Charles Matheson in his chamber o'horrors but they do find his hair sample collection, including a drawer for the five teens killed in 1992 and a new drawer with Miranda's hair sample in it. Creeeeeepy. Naturally, by the time Caleb gets there to confront Uncle Ray, the hair is gone.
Meanwhile, Caleb and Remy are off to talk to the...

"It Ain't Easy" reintroduced the suspected teenage arsonist we met in "Two Families," and this time the firehouse wasn't quite as welcoming.
If there's one thing we've learned about these men and women, it's that that they look out for their own first. If Ernie started the fire that moderately injured Vargas' lungs, you knew he was going to be in for a world of hurt.
It turned out that the injury to Vargas may have saved his life, making it kind of hard to be angry at the person who started it. After an examination, they discovered he was well on his way to emphysema, continuing the lifestyle of a firefighter with all the dangers of inhaling smoke and other toxins would only speed up the ride to end his life. Vargas had to retire.
As always, I teared up. This time it was when they gave him a goodbye gift of his helmet,...

Alcatraz “Clarence Montgomery” Air Date: 3/12/2012
It’s been awhile since we last checked in with Fox’s Alcatraz, and unfortunately, not much has changed. Unless delving into the Tommy Madsen mystery or utilizing the excellent Robert Forster (as Uncle Ray), most of the time, this is just a standard, boring procedural, the weakest Bad Robot production to date.
I do like that each week, we get a new inmate that always has a different way to kill (land mines, sniper, poison, etc.). Unfortunately, that fun only lasts until the opening credits (and then it’s all repetition from there). This week we meet Clarence Montgomery (Mahershala Ali), a tall black gentleman hanging out at a country club party. Apparently that’s all you need to attract rich white women, because he goes for a walk with one on the golf course within seconds, where she ends up bloody near the back nine.

We’ve already brought you our first, with Jorge Garcia, and now here’s the second with Sarah Jones, who plays the series’ lead character San Francisco Police Department detective Rebecca Madsen.
Can you tell us about your character?
Sarah Jones: Rebecca Madsen is a detective for the San Francisco Police Department and she is married to her work: it’s what drives her and as the series goes along, you will find out why she is so invested in what she does. She gets recruited by Sam Neill to a special task force that has to try to figure out why...

Last week, a rain-delayed Daytona 500 race preempted Fox's "Alcatraz" episode, which complicated the scheduling of this week's two-hour event. Instead of airing the missed episode tonight, Fox has decided to hold off and air it on March 12. Executive producers Jennifer Johnson and Daniel Pyne tell us the shuffled episode schedule is "not going to be a problem. A little post-production magic, and the ongoing storylines remain the same as originally planned."
Don't let that give you the impression that the two back-to-back episodes airing tonight (March 5) are easily skippable. In fact, they're two of the series' strongest episodes thus far, albeit for very different reasons.
The first, "Ames Brothers," finds the Alcatraz task force stuck on the island during a brutal storm -- just one of many reasons that having their official headquarters on Alcatraz is wildly impractical. This is the first time that the gang has faced two '...

Jay-z said Beyonce decided to announce that she was pregnant on the MTV Video Music Awards to pre-empt a tabloid news show that wanted to break the news.
The rap superstar mused about the decision in an interview in GQ's Man Of The Year issue. "It was actually Bey who wanted to [announce] it," Jay-z said in the interview. "You want to be in control of your life."
Jay-z, who is usually coy about his personal life, said that he wanted to be an active parent — he plans to change diapers — in part because his own father left the family when Jay-z, born Shawn Carter, was 11 years old. Kelly Rowland, Beyonce's Destinys Child bandmate, accidentally confirmed two weeks ago that the duo is having a daughter.
"Providing—that's not love," he told GQ. "Being there—that's more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites.

Jay-z managed to put his bitter feelings towards his estranged dad behind him after realizing the murder of his uncle pushed his dad to drink. The "99 Problems" singer's father, Adnis Reeves, walked out on the family when the star was just 11 years old, and the rapper later let out his anger at the abandonment in his track "Moment of Clarity" following his father's death in 2003.
But in his new book, "Decoded", the star admits that he only recently understood it was the slaying of his father's brother, Ray - whose killer was never brought to justice - which pushed him to lose his grip on his responsibilities. He writes, "My dad swore revenge and became obsessed with hunting down Uncle Ray's killer. The tragedy - compounded by the injustice - drove him crazy, sent him to the bottle, and ultimately became a factor in the unraveling of my parents' marriage.

Ja: My first connection, and what got me started, was Issue #24.I saw it on the newsstand in 1963 when I was 11 years old. I was already a fan of horror films but I had no idea how they were made, and I was incredibly excited.
