- Scotty Moore was born on December 27, 1931 in Gadsden, Tennessee, USA. He was an actor, known for The Departed (2006), Drugstore Cowboy (1989) and Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962). He died on June 28, 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
- Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 (under the category Side-Men).
- Played lead guitar on most of Elvis Presley's records during the fifties.
- He also worked with his friend Carl Perkins, as well as Ringo Starr, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, and Ronnie Wood.
- He was the last surviving member of Elvis' original band which included bassist Bill Black and producer Sam Phillips. As part of The Blue Moon Boys, he backed Presley on many of his legendary songs. They worked together for 14 years, and Moore was Presley's first manager.
