Jose here with some guys in skirts and feuding gods.
Images have began to circle the web announcing the remake of Clash of the Titans (is it just me or does it feel like it was announced about a month ago? Movie production sure is fast nowadays...). The movie based on the 1981 classic is being directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Sam Worthington (who's yet to prove his worth with James Cameron's upcoming Avatar) as the mythical demigod Perseus.
The original was a favorite of mine as a kid. I used to be enchanted by Ray Harryhausen's stop motion effects (I covered my eyes whenever Medusa appeared and was terrified by the Stygian Witches) and the plot got me interested in Greek myths.
Once I became film conscious however, the movie proved to be worthy because of several other things. That cast for starters! With Sir Laurence Olivier, »

A batch of new photos for "Clash of the Titans" has been found. Five of the overall eight fresh images are stills from the action fantasy and are featured in the latest issue of Empire Magazine. The rest of them, meanwhile, are pictures from the set and are included in the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly.
All of the five stills present the leading character played by Sam Worthington, Perseus. Running amidst fire around him, leading a band of warrior and taking a hide behind a broken down pillar are some of the scenes he is seen in the photos. Meanwhile, most of the on-set pictures give out first look at Liam Neeson as Zeus.
In a quotation tagging along the photos, director Louis Leterrier explained how Neeson got involved, saying "Liam's sons were like, 'You get to play Zeus, that's cool, Dad, do it!' That's why he took the job. »

I’m not a fan of remakes, and I usually approach anything with the word “remake” attached to it with some suspicion, but I gotta admit, I’m really looking forward to Louis Leterrier’s remake of “Clash of the Titans”. I loved the film as a kid, and I think today’s special effects could really spiffy it up. Plus, the cast is just insane. Starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos, Danny Huston, Jason Flemyng, Mads Mikkelsen, Izabella Miko, Tamer Hassan, Hans Matheson, and directed by Louis Leterrier. Via Empire, in case you couldn’t tell by the big “Empire” title on the pic. »
