Director Jennifer Lynch.s new horror film Chained will be playing at 7pm at the Tivoli this Friday night as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival. Lynch, who will be in attendance, has lived through her own horror stories the past couple of decades since making her directorial debut in 1993 with Boxing Helena. The dark comedy about a doctor who removes the limbs of his shapely neighbor and places her in a box on his dining-room table, was critically savaged, a financial flop, and led to a highly-publicized lawsuit involving its original star Kim Bassinger. Ms Lynch then went through a series of painful spinal surgeries, the result of being hit by a car when she was 19. It was fifteen years before she was able to mount another directorial outing with Surveillance (2008), a mind-bender about the quest for truth in a...

Starting with her first feature, Boxing Helena, Jennifer Lynch has demonstrated the same unflinching attitude towards subject matter that would make most folks run as her father, the legendary David Lynch. So expect more of the same from her next film, the serial killer thriller A Fall from Grace. More after the jump. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Lynch "will next helm the thriller A Fall From Grace, about a homicide detective tracking a serial killer along the Mississippi River who burns his victims. If anyone was wondering how Lindsay Lohan would make a living after her stay in jail and in-patient rehab, we now have our answer. The 24-year-old actress, who hasn't headlined a theatrical release since 2007, is set to net a lucrative payday for her first post-sentence interview.
Ok! magazine has offered Lohan $1 million for the interview, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lohan has reportedly not yet agreed to the deal — she's still receiving treatment at a rehab facility run by UCLA Medical Center — but she will likely be released well before completing the court-ordered 90-day treatment plan, instead entering an out-patient program. Thus we might be hearing from Lohan — and the actress might be cashing a hefty paycheck — sooner than previously expected.

As the actress faces a 90-day jail sentence, industry veterans are divided on what it means for Lohan's career.

Lindsay Lohan's 90-day jail sentence caps a long history of legal issues reaching back at least to her 2007 DUI arrest and comes at a time when the 24-year-old actress is trying to piece her career back together. The jail time, which is to be followed by a 90-day in-house stay at a substance-abuse clinic, will prevent Lohan from publicizing an upcoming movie and delay production on another one. What's more, Lohan will be unable to continue promoting her new fashion line, 6126, which is expected to begin shipping to stores this month.
So just how much will Lohan's professional life suffer now that her ability to jumpstart new projects and promote existing ones has been compromised? Will the actress — once...

Former child star and everyone's favourite trainwreck Lindsay Lohan has been cast in new movie Inferno, a film about '70s porn icon Linda Lovelace's life.
The movie's producer, Wali Razaqi, has confirmed that the troubled actor will take on the role and says he's confident she is ideal for the part: "We've all thought that Lindsay would be a great choice for a while now, and we're all convinced that she is going to do it. For at least a year, the director Matthew Wilder and I have gone back and forth imagining how awesome of a performance she could give if she was in the movie."
He continued in the Los Angeles Times: "I would say it's probably one of the most challenging roles any actor could play - and not because of the sexual content, necessarily - but more because she was so battered and beat up emotionally,...

Writer/producer Richard O'sullivan has offered Lindsay Lohan a career lifeline just days after the actress was dumped from her latest film project - he wants her to play a character loosely based on herself. The screenwriter penned "One Night With You" with Lohan partly in mind and now believes the comedy could be her comeback film - if she'll agree to have a little fun at her own expense.
The script revolves around a former child star, whose reputation is ruined by a series of public scandals. She books a gig on a reality dating show to keep her career afloat and hopefully clean up her image. A source close to the film says, "Basically the character is Lindsay Lohan. Wouldn't it be funny if Lindsay herself was cast? The thinking being, 'Hey, look what 'The Wrestler' did for Mickey Rourke'."
O'Sullivan tells WENN, "It is ready-made for Lindsay.

In a week filled with misplaced Rolexes, paternal invasions and drink tossing, Lindsay Lohan almost escaped unscathed. But, alas, she didn't. The dysfunctional starlet has been given the boot from her latest movie, after she proved "not bankable" enough to attract significant production financing. "The producers of the movie have reported that financiers have been resistant to finance the movie with Lindsay in the lead role," said writer-director David Michaels to E! News. The film, currently titled The Other Side, is however not in danger.

Lindsay and her estranged father Michael are currently embroiled in a war of words after he organised a police-led raid on her Hollywood apartment last week (ends23Apr10) and then appeared on TV insisting the actress was a bad role model for her teenage sister Ali, who lives with her.

I'm getting worried for Lindsay. Life seems to be getting tougher and tougher for the actress. We've now just learned that she has been dropped from "The Other Side" - a comedy fairly-tale type modern day movie that centers on a mystery involving inhabitants of a remote island. Writer/Director David Michaels, has said "Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we'll soon be announcing a replacement." The movie also stars Angelica Huston, Eddie Izzard, Alanis Morisseette, Dave Matthews and Woody Harrelson. A source connected to the movie told TMZ that Lohan was removed from the cast because people financing the movie were reluctant to rely on her. It's been a tough year or two for Lindsay. On Thursday, her father, Michael, called the L.A. county authorities and asked them to visit her L.A. apartment to check up the welfare of Lindsay's younger sister, Ali.

At this point in her career, Lindsay Lohan might have enough star power to land a small film role — as with her upcoming turn in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete" — but it seems some in Hollywood have gotten cold feet about hiring the actress.
After firing her from "The Other Side" over the weekend, writer/director David Michaels explained the decision by saying Lohan is "not bankable."
"The producers of the movie have reported that financiers have been resistant to finance the movie with Lindsay in the lead role," he told E! News.
At press time, a rep for Lohan had not responded to MTV News' request for comment.
Michaels maintained that the film itself is still on track with the rest of its cast intact, including Woody Harrelson and Giovanni Ribisi.

Lindsay Lohan has just lost another project. The 27-year-old ex-actress, whose last film was in 2007, was axed from a movie for apparently not being "bankable."

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Lindsay Lohan's upcoming role in "The Other Side" was originally intended for Katie Holmes, the film's director tells E! News. In fact, Holmes provided David Michaels with a lot of input on the character. "Katie would call me from Berlin at 4 a.m. her time to go over ideas and notes," said Michaels, who also cowrote the script. "We did this over successive weeks while she was there with Tom when he was filming Valkyrie. The result of our collaboration has tremendously improved the arc and dynamic of the lead character." Holmes eventually had to drop out due to scheduling problems after the film ran into funding problems - providing a much needed opportunity for Lohan to prove she's a bankable star. "Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her," Michaels told Daily Variety earlier this month. "She's really committed to doing what...

Lindsay Lohan has Katie Holmes to thank for her new movie role, after the Batman Begins actress was forced to pull out of The Other Side due to her busy schedule.
Lohan has struggled to land substantial scripts since 2004 hit Mean Girls as movie bosses find it difficult to obtain insurance for the hard-partying star.
But filmmaker David Michaels has taken a chance on Lohan, recruiting her for the role Holmes had to turn down due to her commitment to Broadway play All My Sons.
And Lohan is indebted to her fellow actress for yet another reason - Michaels' original leading lady stayed up all night to help him fine tune his script and characters.

Michaels is confident that Lohan has the acting abilities to carry off the part - despite her reputation as being a liability in Hollywood.

Lindsay Lohan is making some positive news for a change. Since this year's Labor Pains is headed straight to TV, it wasn't exactly the acting comeback everyone was expecting for the actress, who's last theatrical release was the 2007 thriller I Know Who Killed Me.
