Back in April, an open casting call was posted on Screenterrier to find two boys to star in Love Nina, Nick Hornby’s adaptation of Nina Stibbe's award-winning book Love, Nina for BBC One.
Filming starts this month on location in London with young newcomers Ethan Rouse and Harry Webster set to play brothers Joe and Max.
They will star alongside Faye Marsay (represented by Curtis Brown) in the title role of Nina, their nanny, suffering from the culture shock of moving to one of London’s most Bohemian streets from her home town in the East Midlands. Faye played Steph in feature film Pride, with many TV roles including Glue, My Mad Fat Diary, Fresh Meat, The White Queen and Game of Thrones.
Helena Bonham Carter will play Georgia, the boys' beautiful, forthright mother. Jason Watkins will play local author Malcolm Tanner and Josh McGuire will play Nunney, Nina’s on-off boyfriend.

Leighton Meester, Minka Kelly in Christian E. Christiansen's thriller The Roommate (top); Rhys Wakefield, Josh McGuire in Alister Grierson's 3D adventure/thriller Sanctum, executive-produced by Avatar's James Cameron (bottom) Sony / Screen Gems' The Roommate topped the ho-hum North American box office on Friday, Feb. 4, according to studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo. Christian E. Christiansen's thriller took in $6.4m at 2,534 locations on its first day out. The Roommate's per-theater average was an acceptable $2,526, though chances are that things will go downhill from here as this is Super Bowl weekend. Most critics didn't get to see The Roommate, but among those that did weren't exactly impressed; Christiansen's thriller has an embarrassing 9% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes. The tale of a college freshman obsessed with her roommate, The Roommate features Leighton Meester, Minka Kelly, Twilight's Cam Gigandet, Matt Lanter, and Billy Zane. Executive produced by James Cameron,...

Though it started as a very insider thing, The Black List has recently become more popular and mainstream. For those who may not know, it's an annual list of the year's best unproduced screenplays as voted on by about 300 Hollywood development executives and high-level assistants. We recently posted the 2010 list [1] and looking back at some previous years (2007 [2], 2008 [3], 2009 [4]), films such as Recount, The Beaver and The Social Network all sat near the top of the list. Skim over any of them and you'll see names of films that are out, are coming out and more. It's a big deal. This year, a new Black List of sorts has come out. Dubbed Viewfinder, it's supposed to do for directors what The Black List did for screenwriters. Viewfinder is a compilation of "the top commercials, shorts and/or music videos of 2010." Several of the directors on the list already have deals or are in production on films.

Deadline doesn't post anonymous lists. But it turns out there's sort-of The Black List for "aspiring" filmmakers (Iñárritu?), put together by Patrick Chu of Montecito Picture Company and Aaron Schmidt of Langley Park Pictures, and conceived by Jeff Schroeder, a Wme assistant. dubbed "Viewfinder", it polled studio execs, producers, and assistants for their picks for the top 10 short films, commercials and/or music videos in 2010. The results were tallied, and all the videos are embedded on the website for everyone to view. Here's their explanation: "Aspiring filmmakers need their venue. They need their list. Our hope was that you would share your love and admiration for filmmakers with us and the rest of the business by submitting your picks for the top commercials, shorts and/or music videos of 2010. And you did. The videos on this page represent your contributions to our list. We see this list as a valuable...
