Cherry: 'Housewives fans decided Mike wife'

Marc Cherry has revealed that fans of Desperate Housewives helped him decide how to resolve last season's cliffhanger. During the fifth season finale, the character of Mike Delfino (played by James Denton) stood at the altar with a mystery bride, after leaving fiancée Katherine (Dana Delany) on their wedding day to rescue his young son Mj (Mason Vale Cotton) and ex-wife Susan (Teri Hatcher) from kidnapper Dave Williams (Neal McDonough). The series creator told Entertainment Weekly that the bride's initial identity was to be Katherine, until viewers informed him that they would rather see Susan and Mike reconcile. Forget swine flu (or H1N1); Chat Fatigue will be the sickness that will overtake millions this fall. The group most susceptible to this are NBC viewers. Now that Jay Leno will be taking over the 10 p.m. slot from Monday to Friday (starting Sept. 14) on the Peacock network, viewers will get four hours of people sitting behind desks and talking directly to the camera.

Can the average viewer really handle going from Leno to local news to Conan O’Brien to Jimmy Fallon to Carson Daly? How many guys in suits and ties sitting behind a desk do you want to experience after an 8 hours of work day with guys in suits and ties sitting behind desks? They’re all going to stare at you through the boob tube and jibber jabber. Kinda like the doofus with the desk next to you at work. »

Take me out to the ball game! An eclectic mix of stars — and their kids! — showed up at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles July 25 and 26 for a two-day celebration, complete with events for the whole family.

Before the highly anticipated Dodgers vs. Florida Marlins game, celebrities mingled with local foster children, their mentors, and other supportive members of the community in order to bring awareness to the Los Angeles County foster program.

Desperate Housewives star James Denton (pictured below) and his kids — Sheppard, 6, and Malin, 4 — took a break from the all-star game to snap a quick photo! The tow-headed tots are James’ with his wife of six years, Erin O’Brien.

Who’s It For? Here is the movie that can match the intellect of it’s primary audience of thirteen year old boys. They will be oblivious to the awful acting, editing, dialogue, and will eat up whatever portions of action Chun-Li has to offer.

An appalling adaptation of the beloved video game, “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” is undoubtedly one of the worst films to ever hit the big screen or any screen for that matter. Apart from poor effects and editing, the fight choreography is for the most part laughable and almost as bad as the “Street Fighter” film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia. In that film, Ming-Na starred as Chun-Li, now “Smallville” star Kristin Kreuk takes the role. Story actually starts off well and is intriguing as young Chun-Li’s (“Katherine Pemberton”) beloved influential business man father (Edmund Chen) is snatched away by Bison (Neal McDonough). However, the film progresses from barely watchable to completely imbecilic. Casting choices quickly come into question everywhere including the power-hungry villain head honcho and the flourishing martial arts expert are tame and lame. »

Supernatural's Jensen Ackles tops poll to play Captain America

Jensen Ackles has won by a huge majority in a Geek Files poll of possible actors who could play Captain America.

Ackles, who stars in TV ghost-hunting show Supernatural, was way out in front with 39 per cent of the votes.

I had discussed his suitability for the role in an earlier series of articles on some of the possible candidates.

Next came Channing Tatum and Paul Walker who each had 8 per cent, followed by John Cena with 6 per cent and then Cam Gigandet with 5 per cent. A similar 5 per cent picked 'other' and named their choices in the comments section as Nathan Fillion, Sam Worthington and Neal McDonough (pictured).

'Desperate Housewives' Spin-Off Gets Green Light

Apparently people are excited about the plan of "Desperate Housewives" spin-off. ABC has not yet released an official statement about the spin-off, but public has given a lot of positive responses on the proposed project. The spin-off series, reportedly, will be starring Lily Tomlin and Kathryn Joosten as elderly sisters Karen and Roberta McCluskey.

However, the McCluskey sisters won't be living on Wisteria Lane. They will play mystery-solving sisters who investigate lightweight crimes in a place that has the same unreal suburban feel of the "Desperate Housewives" creator, Marc Cherry series.

Since the rumor has spread, sources reported that Joosten received so many supportive emails at her personal Web site that the site was shut down. Despite the positive response, a rep for ABC has denied the news, saying "there's no truth to the spin-off rumor."

Last week, words were spreading that "Desperate Housewives" could get a spin-off with Lily Tomlin and Kathryn Joonsten as the lead cast. In the development of the story, NY Post reported that the news gathered so many great response from the public that the execs are expected to consider making it true.

It is said in the report that Lily and Kathryn will reprise their "Desperate" roles as sisters Roberta and Karen McCluskey respectively. The idea is to have them snooping and solving light crime mysteries in another neighborhood outside Wisteria Lane. "(Creator Marc) Cherry loves the idea of a mystery series," said a source close to the project.
