Editor’s Note: The Deadline Watchlist is a feature spotlighting small screen specials, events and can’t-miss episodes of ongoing series each week.
1. Law & Order Season 21 Premiere: The ‘dun, dun” is still there, the format is fundamentally the same, plus Sam Waterston, Camryn Manheim and Anthony Anderson are back in the Manhattan D.A.’s office and pounding the streets for the NYPD for Dick Wolf’s revival of the original Law & Order.
However, somethings have actually changed since the iconic series that launched a 1000 spinoffs went off the air in 2010. NBC have only provided the first episode for critics, so a full-scale review is inappropriate. Yet, with the addition of the likes of Odelya Halevi, Jeffrey Donovan, and Hugh Dancy, let’s just say, the 21st season of this new-ish L&o is as much ripped from the culture as it is the headlines – at least off the bat.

Exclusive: The success of recent documentaries about Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Fred Rogers proves that people are craving heroes right now. Enter Willie O’Ree, the NHL’s first black player, who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday.
He is the subject of Willie, an upcoming feature-length docu whose executive producer Bryant McBride says is “10 percent about hockey and 90 percent about life.” Watch a teaser trailer above.
The man’s story is as improbable as it is impressive. O’Ree’s great-grandfather escaped slavery in 1778, and the family still has the original parchment document of his sale.
A native of Fredericton, New Brunswick, O’Ree shattered the NHL’s color barrier with the Boston Bruins in 1958, amid the birth of the Civil Rights movement and the struggle to end Jim Crow. Although he had to deal with racist taunts by fans and some opponents, he was welcomed by teammates and management.

In an effort to reduce the work of his writing staff (or maybe just to get rid of half of them?), Emmy Awards' host Jimmy Fallon is asking Twitter users to compose the introductions he'll use for up to 15 Emmy presenters. That is nearly half of the lineup. As payment, he will mention the user's name during their selected introduction tweet.
He offers this as an example: "@blahblahblah says Jon Hamm is the hottest guy of all time. Here he is, Jon Hamm."
The full list of Emmy presenters will be announced on NBC's website tomorrow, along with Twitter links to enter introductions. However, we know our readers will want to get a jump on this, so here are the celebrities that have already been announced: Anna Paquin and Stephen Mayer, Jon Hamm, Matthew Morrison, Eva Longoria Parker, Will Arnett, Stephen Colbert, Edie Falco, Tina Fey,...
