For two days, thousands of pop and geek culture enthusiasts will be in their comfort zone as some of today’s hottest actors and artists come together in celebration of everything they love.

New comic book Wednesday has come and gone. The dust at your local comic shop has settled. An eerie silence descends as you finish reading your last superhero book of the week. Now it's time for something a little more sinister. Welcome to Bagged and Boarded: comic reviews of the sick, spooky, twisted and terrifying! Catalyst Comics No. 1 This collection of off-kilter superhero stories all focus on the end of the world. Starting on or around December 21, 2012, the three stories presented in this comic kick off with the apocalypse… and then things get weird. All of these stories are based around the heroes of previous issues of Catalyst, but you don't have to have read them to get what's going on. The first story follows a superhero who has to go through a psychic/physical/freak-out experience to possibly save the day. The second story features a young woman who...

Man, Dark Horse Comics just won’t slow down. And why should they? In addition to several exciting Star Wars projects on their plate, the premiere indie publisher keeps introducing fantastic original work with a quirky bent: Matt Kindt’s Mind Mgmt, John Arcudi’s The Creep, Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra’s Colder (best mini-series of the year, if you ask me), Brian Wood’s The Massive, and a new Bprd: Vampire series reuniting Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba, just to name a few. Here are three more recently announced projects that should stir feathers in the world of surreal horror.

Joe Casey, currently riding high on the waves of awesome reviews for his neo-noir science fiction romp Sex, has teamed up with artists Dan McDaid, Ulises Farinas, and Paul Maybury for a “back-alley facelift” on superhero comics—beginning with the apocalypse and promising to go places...

I wanted to give a big Thanks! to Nerdist News for the mention of my comic Supernovas today. Nerdist made a big splash at WonderCon when co-founder Chris Hardwick (formerly of MTV and G4) made the announcement of the new shows that would be premiering this week on their YouTube Channel, including shows by Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News and Geoff Boucher of Hero Complex at the L.A. Times. Wednesdays are Comic Book Day at Nerdist and today they launched the debut episode of their Comic Book Club show, featuring guests Judah Friedlander and Joe Kelly. Subscribe to their daily newsletter here. Many thanks to editors/contributors Dan Casey and Luke Y. Thompson.
I recently cut together a trailer for Supernovas. We're starting to get some genuine Hollywood interest in the property, possibly as a television series, so I figured I'd give them something...

Don't get your hopes up. There's no "Incredible Hercules" movie in the works just yet. However, if there were such a project in development, Fred Van Lente knows exactly who he'd want to see take on the title role.
Meanwhile, in the world of concepts that actually have been produced, TV oglers got a look at "The Chicago Code" last night. A couple of creators from our feed are still on the fence about it, but it sounds like they may be willing to give the show another chance. Find out why and who may have been paid by mistake for a "Saturday Night Live" episode he didn't write after the jump.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for February 8, 2011.
@fredvanlente If it was Incredible Herc, Seth Rogen or Jack Black. If it was Herc... Not sure yet Rt @amanashraff Who would you cast as #Herc in a movie?...
