James argues that instant dread may not be the best initial reaction to a sequel announcement...
There's a new Pitch Perfect movie coming out next week. I knew that they were making Pitch Perfect 2 but I didn't realise it was coming around for general release so soon. I became aware when I saw a poster for the film in the lobby of my local multiplex last week.
My first thought was "Oh, Pitch Perfect 2 is coming out". My second thought, sadly, was "Hurm. Do we really need a Pitch Perfect sequel?" (This is the crucial thought so remember this). My third thought was "Ah, it's coming out on the same week as Mad Max: Fury Road." I then had fantastical visions of Max singing a capella mash-ups in the haze of the post-apocalyptic outback, bustin' rhymes and bustin' feral thug-brains in perfect harmony. There's your sequel pitch - 'Mad Max: The Rockatansky Rock-Off'.

Next year’s full to bursting with potentially brilliant geek films, so to help, here’s our pick of 25 must-see movies out in 2015…
Compiling a list of next year's most exciting films is extremely difficult. What do you put in? What do you leave out? Those are some of the questions we've had to ask ourselves as we drew up the long-list of our most anticipated films of 2015. In an attempt to limit the number of sequels which can fill up a list such as this, we've left out something like Fast & Furious 7, even though we're fairly sure it'll be a lot of fun. With but two significant exceptions, we've excluded some of the films we were looking forward to this year that have been delayed until the next, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service and Frankenstein.
What we're left with, we hope, is a fairly broad selection of action and comedy,...

The Following Episode 209
“Unmasked”
Written By: Vincent Angell
Directed By: : Nicole Kassell
Original Airdate: 17 March 2014
In This Episode…
Micah wants to make a “big splash,” like Lily did. Joe places a call to Jana for her help, though I’m not really sure what help that is. Anyway, Micah dons a hood and elaborate mask and sits to make a video, with Joe at the controls. Micah is not a natural and soon is distracted when Emma and Robert come in. He greets them with hugs, his “first messengers,” then tells him he is adding a third to the mix, Lance. Lance has experience with killing, but he has been in the dungeon for a while, after cutting off a girl’s ear because he didn’t like the way she looked. “But don’t worry - he is very devoted to me,” Micah promises. He takes Robert to go get the weapons,...

It’s that time again! The new fall season is here, where cynical TV watchers will again make that short-sighted cry, “I won’t bother watching anything, because it’ll just be cancelled anyway.” Well, in your honor, I bring you my list of the Top 9 swiftly-cancelled TV gems. (In a list of shows cut short, how better to end it than on an odd number?) All of these shows aired just 10 episodes or less before unjustly meeting their maker. And darn it, I still miss every one of them.
9. The War Next Door (USA, 2000)
Of all the shows I’ve watched over the last two and a half decades, this has to be one of the most unique. The premise certainly hasn’t been duplicated since: a retired secret agent named Kennedy Smith (Linden Ashby) and his wife Lily (Ashby’s real-life wife Susan Walters) just so happen to...
